85: You're showing concern for me.

Cao Bu had not walked very far when his footsteps suddenly came to a halt.

"Cao Bu, what is it?" Leng Yue scanned the surroundings in confusion, thinking that the Desire Emperor had found them.

Cao Bu lowered his head and moved his foot, revealing a shining spirit crystal lying on the ground.

He paused for a moment, then bent down to pick it up.

Seeing this, Leng Yue said nonchalantly, "Cao Bu, it's just one spirit crystal; why are you picking it up?"

"If you are short on spirit crystals, I will allocate 100 million to you as pocket money after we return to the clan."

"Who wants your spirit crystals?" Cao Bu replied coldly, put the spirit crystal into his storage ring, and continued walking forward.

Leng Yue pouted, her tone carrying a hint of displeasure: "Cao Bu, don't think you can be so unbridled just because I love you."

"Also, who are you putting on that long face for?"

"Regardless, I am your woman; can't you be a little gentler with me?"

Cao Bu's tone was flat: "Why should I give a pleasant look to someone like you?"

Leng Yue's face darkened instantly, and her tone became a bit sharper, filled with defiance: "What happened that day was my fault, but put your hand on your heart and tell me—were you really not happy at that time?"

Cao Bu nearly lost his composure.

How aloof was Leng Yue before? Why is she speaking so recklessly now?

She could even say such explicit things; could this be her true personality, and she was just pretending before?

Seeing that Cao Bu remained silent, Leng Yue wanted to continue speaking, but the words died on her lips as she suddenly stopped: "Don't just stay silent... Hey, why did you stop again?"

Cao Bu stared at the second spirit crystal under his feet, lowered his brows to ponder for a moment, and instantly realized.

It must be due to the Child of Luck trial card.

It seems today's Luck is quite good.

He bent down, picked up the spirit crystal, tucked it into his storage ring, and continued walking forward.

To verify his hypothesis, he decided to walk to Sword Province.

Seeing this, Leng Yue continued to persuade him: "Cao Bu, there is no need to pick up spirit crystals from the ground; they aren't anything rare. Once we return to the clan, I will directly allocate 100 million to you, which is much faster than picking these up."

Cao Bu did not respond, simply continuing his pace.

Before half a quarter of an hour had passed, he encountered a third spirit crystal under his feet. This time, he did not hesitate, bending down to pick it up immediately, his movements much more practiced than before.

Five days later.

Cao Bu bent down to pick up the spirit crystal by his feet, wiped the dust off the crystal with his fingertips, and said to Leng Yue on his back: "We have been walking for five days straight; let's find a place to rest tonight and continue our journey tomorrow."

There was no response from behind him. He turned his head and glanced out of the corner of his eye, only to see Leng Yue's head tilted on his shoulder, her complexion turning black, and her breathing so faint it was almost inaudible, as if she had fallen into a deep sleep.

Cao Bu frowned; could this woman not be holding on anymore?

He looked around and found a flat rock wall. He gathered spiritual power in his palm and, with a few strikes, carved out a cave, then walked steadily inside while carrying Leng Yue on his back.

Night fell.

Cao Bu took out a flint from his storage ring and lit a fire in the cave. The orange-red firelight illuminated the stone walls and dispelled the chill in the cave.

He raised his hand to form a Seal, and a transparent Barrier covered the surroundings of the cave, blocking out the night wind and the roars of Yao Beasts outside.

Cao Bu sat by the fire, watching Leng Yue beside him. He saw the black color on her face receding bit by bit, changing from deep black to light gray, and finally disappearing completely, restoring her usual fairness.

Not long after, Leng Yue's eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly woke up.

She opened her eyes and saw Cao Bu guarding by the fire, her tensed shoulders relaxing slightly.

"What happened to you just now?" Cao Bu asked, keeping a straight face.

A faint smile appeared on Leng Yue's face: "The Seal on my body cracked, leaking a wisp of poisonous gas, so I had to rely on deep sleep to resist it with all my might."

"Are you alright now?" Cao Bu asked again.

Leng Yue looked up at him and asked with a smile: "Are you concerned about me?"

Upon hearing this, Cao Bu lowered his head, his gaze fixed on the fire. He remained silent with a cold face, his fingertips pinching a piece of firewood, poking at the sparks one by one.

Seeing him like this, Leng Yue pouted, her tone softening as she explained: "I underestimated this poison. The crack in the Seal was only temporarily closed; it will loosen again in a few days."

"From now on, I will have to fall into a deep sleep every few days to suppress the poison in my Primordial Spirit."

The Desire Emperor's poison was too vicious; it not only harmed the Physical Body but also damaged the Primordial Spirit.

If she were not careful, it would cause irreparable damage to her Primordial Spirit.

Cao Bu nodded and tossed the firewood in his hand into the fire, causing sparks to fly: "You must be tired. Get some good rest tonight, and we will set off tomorrow morning."

After saying this, he found a rock wall not far from the fire to lean against, closed his eyes to take a nap, and deliberately kept a distance from Leng Yue.

But not long after he closed his eyes, he felt a soft figure lean over, carrying a faint fragrance, and gently snuggle into his arms.

He opened his eyes and looked, only to see Leng Yue tilting her face up with a smile, pressing her face against his chest, her hands wrapped around his waist.

Cao Bu frowned and reached out to push her away: "What happened five days ago was an accident. What else do you want to do?"

Leng Yue snuggled closer into his arms and said softly: "Cao Bu, I am already like this; do you still not understand what I mean?"

Cao Bu reminded her: "If you insist on doing this, and Gu Feng finds out about it, how will you explain it to him?"

Leng Yue said nonchalantly: "He will understand. As for the matter between us, as long as we don't say anything, no one else will know, so what is there to explain?"

Cao Bu snorted coldly, his tone full of mockery: "There is no wall in the world that doesn't leak; your way of thinking is simply a pipe dream."

After saying this, he pushed Leng Yue away without hesitation, stood up, and walked to the other side of the stone wall to lean against it.

But as soon as he closed his eyes, he felt that soft sensation in his arms again.

Cao Bu's brow furrowed even tighter. He stood up and moved further away, this time going directly to the cave entrance, the furthest place from the fire.

After changing positions a dozen times, moving from one side of the cave to the other, from beside the fire to the cave entrance, Leng Yue was like a piece of dog-skin plaster, always following by his side.

"Are you done yet? Can we not get some proper rest?" Cao Bu said with a cold face, his eyes full of dissatisfaction.

Leng Yue looked up at him, blinked playfully, and said with an exceptionally firm tone: "Either you hold me to sleep tonight, or every time you move, I will follow. Either way, I am not letting go."

Cao Bu was momentarily speechless, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

This woman was actually more proactive than he had thought, which suited him perfectly.

He immediately stopped worrying about it, closed his eyes, and prepared to rest.

Seeing this, the corners of Leng Yue's mouth curved into a crescent shape.

She took the opportunity to lean into Cao Bu's arms, wrapped her hands around his waist, pressed her face against his chest, and listened to his steady heartbeat, a look of peace appearing on her face.

She frowned and thought for a moment, then reached out to lift Cao Bu's right arm, letting his arm wrap around her back, completely wrapping herself in his embrace.

Seeing that Cao Bu kept his eyes closed and did not push her away, she felt a slight joy in her heart, her breathing gradually stabilized, and she fell into a deep sleep in his arms.

Resisting the poison for the past few hours had indeed drained her mental energy, and she was in dire need of a good rest now.
