35: The clown Tang Sang makes his appearance

The two slowly turned around, and as their gazes met the ancient longsword in Su Lin's hand, time seemed to freeze at that moment.

It had no ornate decorations, no dazzling precious light; the sword body even carried a hint of the dimness of ages.

Yet, it was such an ordinary-looking sword that made these two women, who had long stood at the peak of the Immortal Realm, feel as if struck by lightning in an instant, their delicate bodies trembling violently.

"destiny..."

Mu Qingxue's red lips trembled slightly as she uttered these two words.

The languidness on Luo Ximei's face had long vanished, replaced by a rare pallor and gravity.

How could they forget?

How could they dare to forget!

A hundred years ago, that world-ending war.

A terrifying demon god descended from beyond the heavens; its power far exceeded imagination, capable of tearing Laws apart and shattering heaven and earth with a mere gesture.

The entire Immortal Realm, before that demon god, was like lambs to the slaughter, utterly vulnerable.

It was Su Lin, at the last moment, holding this ancient sword of destiny, who single-handedly faced that world-destroying attack.

The scene of that battle had long transformed into the deepest imprint, carved into the depths of their Souls.

"Revered Master..."

Mu Qingxue could no longer restrain herself; she staggered forward a step, and with a "plop," she knelt directly before Su Lin.

Luo Ximei also put away all her emotions, walking forward with a solemn expression, kneeling beside Mu Qingxue.

"disciple, respectfully welcome the return of destiny."

Su Lin looked at the two disciple kneeling before him, sighing softly in his heart.

He knew the appearance of destiny would cause a huge impact on them, but he hadn't expected it to be so strong.

"Rise, both of you."

His voice was calm, yet it carried an undeniable gentle power.

He held destiny horizontally before him, gently stroking the cold sword body with his fingers.

"It's just old matters from the past; now my cultivation is lost, and destiny's spirituality is greatly diminished, no longer possessing its former power."

As soon as his words fell, under the perception of the three, a somewhat dishevelled figure outside the small abode, relying on an indomitable will, forcibly passed through the turbulent spatial currents and stumbled into this secluded paradise.

The newcomer was a young man who appeared to be around twenty years old, dressed in a slightly torn blue martial attire, with an ordinary face, but full of resolve and arrogance.

His name was Tang Sang, an unknown Loose Cultivator.

"Cough, cough... As expected of an ancient immortal mansion, the Restriction at this entrance is indeed formidable."

Tang Sang coughed out a few mouthfuls of bloody saliva, leaped up from the ground, patted the dust off his body, yet there was no trace of fear on his face, but rather an uncontrollable excitement and self-satisfaction.

"Hmph, that group of so-called Sect Prodigies outside are truly a bunch of wastes! They can't even get past a mere entrance, yet they dream of seizing immortal Opportunities? How ridiculous!"

"There seems to be no one here; it looks like I really am the first one in!"

He looked around at the Fairy-like scene, feeling the incomparably pure Spiritual Qi in the air, the arrogance on his face growing stronger.

"Such a blessed land, such an Opportunity, is indeed prepared for a Son of Destiny like me!"

Just as he was feeling smug, an old and helpless voice, emanating from the ancient ring on his finger, echoed softly, directly entering his mind.

"Kid, rein it in a bit! This Old Grandfather has told you before, one must be low-key to go far! If it weren't for this Old Grandfather's help, could you have entered this place?"

"And this place is full of strangeness; the Restriction at the entrance is definitely not a dead object. Your ability to enter just now was merely luck!"

"Luck?"

Tang Sang heard this, chuckled disdainfully, and replied in his mind: "Old Grandfather, you are wrong. This is not luck; this is the will of destiny!"

He stroked the ring in his hand, his eyes burning, "With your cheat in my hand, what's there to fear about a mere ancient immortal mansion! They can't get in because they are Mortals.

And I, Tang Sang, am destined to be the man who becomes the protagonist of this world!"

"You..." The Old Grandfather in the ring was so angry that he blew his beard and glared, yet he could do nothing about this arrogant Disciple, only sighing.

"Fine, fine, you're on your own, but this Old Grandfather must remind you, the bamboo building ahead has the most concentrated Spiritual Qi, but it is also the most dangerous. You must not be careless!"

"Got it, got it."

Tang Sang responded perfunctorily, but his heart was burning with eagerness.

The most dangerous places often hide the most astonishing treasures!

He no longer hesitated, tidied his clothes, assumed the posture of a Revered Master, and strode towards the Listening Rain Abode.

In his opinion, all the Opportunities in this entire immortal mansion would be his for the taking.

Soon, he arrived before the bamboo building.

When he saw the open bamboo door and the three blurred figures inside the house, he couldn't help but be stunned.

Someone?

Someone actually got in before me?!

Tang Sang's brows furrowed instantly, and an unknown fire rose from the bottom of his heart.

In his mind, he was the first Son of Destiny to enter this place; how could he tolerate others getting there first?

He suppressed his aura, quietly approached the bamboo building, and looked inside through the crack in the door.

With just one glance, his breathing suddenly caught!

Inside the house, a beautiful woman in white, as pure as snow, with a cold temperament, and another stunning enchantress with a graceful figure and natural charm, were... kneeling on the left and right before a man!

And that man, with his back to the door, was holding an ancient longsword of indeterminate grade.

What is this situation?!

Tang Sang's brain instantly crashed.

Could it be that I wasn't the first one in?

Impossible, I am the true chosen one; such a blessed land can only belong to me.

And what's with these two stunning beauties?

Why would they submit to that man?

An indescribable fire of jealousy instantly overwhelmed Tang Sang's reason!

In his opinion, both of these Fairies should be Daughters of Destiny, Dao Companions who would accompany him to the pinnacle of the world in the future!

"Damn it! This man must have used some demonic art to control them!"

Tang Sang's eyes were bloodshot, and a protagonist's sense of mission spontaneously arose. He was about to kick open the bamboo door and stage a hero saving the beauty scene.

However, just as he lifted his foot, a terrified scream exploded in his mind!

"Kid, something's wrong, there's something off about these three, run, or it'll be too late!"

It was the Old Grandfather's voice!

Tang Sang's movements suddenly froze; this was the first time he had heard such pure fear in the Old Grandfather's tone!

"Old Grandfather, what are you afraid of?" Tang Sang asked in his mind, puzzled, "That man looks unremarkable; once I go in, I will surely cut him down with my sword and rescue the two Fairies!"
