24: Chapter 24 Good Brothers

When Zhang Chao saw Fang Chuan walk into the classroom, his eyes instantly lit up, as if he had found a savior.

"Chuanzi!"

He shouted, pushed through the crowd, and walked quickly toward Fang Chuan.

He grabbed Fang Chuan by the arm, gave a perfunctory nod to the surrounding classmates, and forcibly pulled Fang Chuan to the most secluded corner in the back of the classroom.

Seeing that no one followed, he acted like a thief, quickly pulled ten glowing cards from his pocket, and shoved them into Fang Chuan's hand.

"Chuanzi, I've got the werewolves sorted out, here you go! There are ten Pure-blood Werewolves in total, all with three-star talent!"

Fang Chuan was stunned by this sudden action. He looked down and saw that the ten cards in his palm each depicted a giant silver wolf roaring at the sky, with the edges of the cards emitting a blue halo representing three-star talent.

Before he could react, Zhang Chao lowered his voice and said in an unquestionable tone: "Take them, why are you being so polite with me! Your F- foundation is too thin; these ten werewolves will at least help you save some face!"

Fang Chuan looked at the cards in his hand, then at Zhang Chao's smug expression that practically said "praise me," and didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

He opened his mouth to refuse, but Zhang Chao pressed down on his shoulder.

"Don't say you don't want them. If you don't take them, you're not treating me like a brother!"

Looking at Zhang Chao's earnest eyes, a warm feeling surged in Fang Chuan's heart, but the cards in his hand felt like a hot potato.

He gave a wry smile and whispered: "Damn, I can't take these, I was just joking. If I accept them, Head Teacher Chen Xingyue will hammer me to death!"

"So what if she finds out? It's only natural for me, Zhang Chao, to help my brother. Who dares to say no?" Zhang Chao stiffened his neck, looking perfectly righteous.

Fang Chuan helplessly covered his forehead. He knew his best friend was stubborn; once he set his mind on something, not even nine oxen could pull him back.

He sighed and said earnestly: "Chaozi, I ask you, how much Faith Value are these ten three-star Pure-blood Werewolves worth?"

Zhang Chao was taken aback, scratched his head, and said somewhat uncertainly: "This... my dad used his connections to get them through military channels, it didn't cost any Faith Value. But if you bought them at an exchange, a three-star believer card would cost at least a few thousand Faith Value, right? Ten of them, a few tens of thousands?"

"More than just tens of thousands!" Fang Chuan rolled his eyes at him, annoyed. "Three-star Pure-blood Werewolves have pure bloodlines and huge potential; these are top-tier believer cards! On the black market, you couldn't get one for less than 100,000 Faith Value! Ten of them is one million!"

"O...one million?!" Zhang Chao's eyes widened like copper bells.

Although he was an S-rated genius and received a 100,000 Faith Value reward at the start, he didn't have a clear concept of the actual purchasing power of Faith Value.

In his opinion, 100,000 was already a huge sum. What kind of concept was one million? He didn't even dare to imagine it.

Moreover, for the past few days, his demigod father had been feeding resources into Zhang Chao's Divine Kingdom. Zhang Chao had asked his father about it, but his father wouldn't say.

"That much?" Zhang Chao smacked his lips, looking at the cards in Fang Chuan's hand, his gaze changing slightly.

He had originally thought he was giving a box of apples, but he hadn't expected them to be ten gold bars!

"So," Fang Chuan struck while the iron was hot, stuffing the ten cards back into Zhang Chao's hand, "how can I accept something so valuable? If Head Teacher Chen Xingyue finds out, she'll definitely hammer me to death."

Zhang Chao subconsciously wanted to retort, but his momentum clearly weakened.

He thought about what Fang Chuan said and felt it made sense.

A gift worth one million Faith Value was no longer just ordinary classmate mutual aid; it was practically a wealthy young master keeping a minor celebrity!

Although he and Fang Chuan were close enough to risk their lives for each other, he didn't want his help to bring negative influence and unnecessary gossip to Fang Chuan.

"But... but your Divine Kingdom..." Zhang Chao was still a bit worried. "Are those few goblins of yours really going to be okay? What if they can't even get fed and starve to death?"

"Don't worry, they won't starve." Fang Chuan patted his shoulder, a confident smile on his face.

This smile wasn't faked.

After possessing hundreds of millions of Faith Value and completing the three-Fortune Synergy, his mindset had undergone an earth-shattering change.

He was no longer the F- "trash" who needed others to support him; he was now a true "Divine Tycoon."

Looking at Fang Chuan's calm and breezy expression, Zhang Chao started to mutter to himself.

Why did he feel that, after not seeing him for a few days, his brother seemed a bit different?

The old Fang Chuan, although he had good grades and was popular, always had a hint of humility and restraint in his bones. But the current Fang Chuan, although still smiling, seemed to hide an unfathomable composure and confidence behind that smile.

"You brat... are you hiding something from me?" Zhang Chao narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Fang Chuan suspiciously.

"What could I possibly be hiding from you?"

Fang Chuan's heart skipped a beat, but on the surface, he heartlessly draped his arm around Zhang Chao's shoulder.

"I just think you can't keep taking advantage of a good brother! Besides, I'm a respectable god now too, I can't just leech off my brother every time I run into trouble, right? What would that make me?"

To increase his persuasiveness, he started talking nonsense with a straight face: "Besides, don't underestimate my goblins. I found that although they are weak, they are incredibly prolific! A few days ago there were only a few dozen, now there are almost a thousand! My problem now isn't having too few believers, it's having too many, and not enough food!"

"Really? A thousand?" Zhang Chao was shocked again.

In his own Divine Kingdom, there were only a little over a hundred Pure-blood Werewolves as initial believers. He had been feeding them well for the past few days, and he hadn't seen a single newborn yet.

Fang Chuan's goblins had actually exploded in population to over a thousand?

"Of course it's true." Fang Chuan said without blushing or skipping a beat. "So, if you give me these ten Pure-blood Werewolves, it's not that I can't afford to raise them, it's that I don't dare to! One of them probably eats more than a hundred of my goblins! My small operation can't handle that kind of strain."

That goblins are prolific is a consensus among all gods.

And that high-level believers are "big eaters" who consume far more resources than low-level believers is also written clearly in the textbooks.

Zhang Chao was completely taken in by Fang Chuan's explanation. He frowned and began to genuinely worry about his brother.

"Then what do you do? Population explosion, food crisis... these are the precursors to a Divine Kingdom collapse!" Zhang Chao said anxiously, scratching his head. "How about this, I'll give you one of my food production bases? My dad got me several, they're all intermediate-level, and they can produce tens of thousands of units of food a day!"

"No, no, no!" Fang Chuan was startled and quickly pressed him down. "Chaozi, I appreciate the sentiment. But really, no need. The difficulties are temporary, and there are always more solutions than problems. I've already thought of a solution."

"What solution?" Zhang Chao asked curiously.

"I have my own tricks." Fang Chuan smiled mysteriously. "Anyway, don't worry, I won't let my Divine Kingdom collapse. What you need to do now is to manage your own Divine Kingdom well and not waste your S- talent. We agreed that we would go to the pinnacle of the God Realm together in the future."

Hearing this, Zhang Chao's restless heart slowly calmed down.

That's right, Chuanzi is right.

Everyone has their own path to walk. He could help him for a while, but not for a lifetime.

Instead of worrying about him, it's better to make himself stronger first. Only when he is strong enough will he have the ability to pull him up if he really encounters an insurmountable obstacle in the future.

"Alright!" Thinking this through, Zhang Chao heavily patted Fang Chuan's shoulder. "Then I won't be polite with you. But remember, if something happens, you must tell me, don't try to shoulder it all alone!"

"I know, you nag." Fang Chuan laughed and punched him in the arm.

A crisis that could have triggered a "trust crisis" was thus resolved by Fang Chuan with a "white lie."

He watched as Zhang Chao put the ten werewolf cards worth a million back into his pocket, and inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.

It wasn't that he didn't want to share his secret with his brother, but this secret was simply too big.

The Golden Spatula Hextech System; if the existence of this thing were exposed, it would be enough to drive the whole world crazy.

Before having absolute self-preservation ability, keeping a low profile was the way to go.

The class bell rang, and Head Teacher Chen Xingyue walked into the classroom on time.

Fang Chuan and Zhang Chao immediately sat up straight, resuming the appearance of well-behaved students.

However, Fang Chuan's heart had long since flown back to his own Divine Kingdom.

Head Teacher Chen Xingyue walked onto the podium in high heels, clutching a stack of documents, her gaze sweeping across the class like lightning.

"Everyone quiet! We have received an urgent notice from the military and the school administration!"

She slammed the documents heavily on the table, her voice resounding through the classroom.

"Classes will be suspended for the whole school in one week, and the school is organizing the first senior year Divine Domain combat assessment! Those with high points can be promoted to the elite class!"

There was an uproar below.

Fang Chuan's eyes, however, suddenly lit up.

Combat assessment?

Isn't this the perfect stage to earn points and explode with loot?
