3: Chapter 3 System: Bad Start? Don't Panic!
The school bell rang.
The oppressive atmosphere in the classroom was instantly shattered. Students who had awakened high-tier Divine Kingdoms were surrounded in the center, enjoying the compliments of their classmates.
Those with poorer ratings silently packed their bags, heads bowed in silence.
Just then, two school administrators arrived at the classroom door, one of whom was the Dean.
"Student Zhang Chao, Student Liu Ruyan, please come here."
Zhang Chao threw his backpack onto his back, strode to Fang Chuan's desk, and threw an arm around his shoulder.
"Chuanzi, I'm going to head over first. Tonight, dinner at Shanhai Tower is on me!" Zhang Chao hurriedly slung his bag over his shoulder and lowered his voice before leaving. "Don't be discouraged. Once I figure out my talent, I'll definitely send you a batch of top-tier believers!"
Fang Chuan nodded with a smile. "Go on, don't keep the Dean waiting. I'm heading to the Divine Realm meditation room."
"Why go look at that thing? There's not even a blade of grass there... Forget it, just don't overthink things. Wait for me to get back!" Zhang Chao waved as he ran off.
Watching Zhang Chao's back as he ran out of the classroom, Fang Chuan smiled, turned, and walked out of the teaching building.
Behind Qinghe High School, there was a row of Divine Realm meditation rooms partially buried underground. These were provided specifically for boarding students, offering a stable and safe environment for them to connect to their Divine Kingdoms.
Fang Chuan swiped his card and entered the No. 09 meditation room assigned to him.
Once the door locked, the lights automatically dimmed. He sat cross-legged on a cushion, closed his eyes, and a dark gray divine mark appeared between his brows.
His consciousness experienced a moment of weightlessness.
When he opened his eyes again, Fang Chuan was standing ten thousand meters in the air, looking down at the world that belonged solely to him.
This was his Divine Kingdom.
Bleak.
That was Fang Chuan's only assessment.
On the 110,000 square kilometers of land, there were no mountains, no rivers, only cracked, gray scorched earth.
Strong winds whipped up dust, and the sky was a deathly, dim yellow color. There was almost no divine power fluctuation to be felt in the air.
He zoomed in his view. In the center of the Divine Kingdom, there was a pitifully crude altar made of a few broken stones piled together, with a bean-sized flame burning in the middle, ready to extinguish at any moment.
Below the altar lay a group of emaciated, humanoid creatures. They were less than a meter tall, with grayish-green skin, almost completely naked, holding stones and crude wooden sticks.
A rough count showed there were over four hundred and seventy of them.
Fang Chuan immediately used [Inspect].
[Race]: Inferior Goblin
[Level]: Level 1
[Talent]: 1-Star
[Physique]: 3
[Strength]: 2
[Intelligence]: 2
[Speed]: 1
[Overall Combat Power]: 5
[Faith Level]: Non-believer
[Faith Output]: 0.005/day
Looking at this panel, Fang Chuan had no temper left.
No wonder they said an F-tier Divine Kingdom had no future; the base attributes of these goblins were terrifyingly low.
The dependent believers of an F-tier Divine Kingdom usually had base attributes of at least 10!
Just then, several notifications echoed in Fang Chuan's mind.
[Congratulations to the host for activating the God-level Hextech System!]
[This system has accessed information on all dependent believers in this world. Every time you refresh, there is a chance for dependent believers with high-star talents to appear in the card pool.]
[Dependent Believer Synthesis function enabled. Three believers of the same race and same talent star level can be synthesized into a powerful believer of the original race with a talent one star level higher.]
With a thought from Fang Chuan, an interface filled with mechanical and magical styles popped up on the right side of his retina—the "Teamfight Tactics" control panel.
In the middle of the interface below, a line of golden numbers was flashing.
[Current Faith Value: 100,000]
The only difference from the Teamfight Tactics interface was that there was no upgrade orb on the left, but there was a refresh orb on the right. The rest was the five-slot hero card pool. Each refresh consumed 20 Faith Value.
"Hmm, that's a bit stingy."
In the Divine Kingdom world, Faith Value was not only the standard for measuring a deity's power, but also absolute hard currency.
For a newly awakened divine being, if they could collect 200 Faith Value from their believers in a day, it was considered an excellent start. But Fang Chuan started with one hundred thousand. Even more terrifying was that the daily interest rate of [Hedge Fund+] was 10%. As long as he left it alone, tomorrow it would be one hundred and ten thousand.
"I can't just let the money sit there; infrastructure must be developed." Fang Chuan muttered to himself. He didn't rush to interact with those few goblins, but instead, through his divine mark, directly connected to the "Divine Kingdom Exchange" on the real-world network.
The Divine Kingdom Exchange was a trading platform jointly created by high-tier deities of the Dragon Kingdom, which could directly connect to everyone's Divine Kingdom.
Deities could trade with each other through this exchange, and the platform deducted a 2% service fee for every transaction. Of course, to take care of newly awakened deities, those who had just awakened did not need to pay any service fees, and even received additional discounts.
The light screen expanded, and a dazzling array of goods cascaded down like a waterfall. Fang Chuan directly filtered out the miscellaneous bits and pieces, locking his target clearly onto the two categories of "Environmental Modification" and "Basic Resources."
[Tier 1 Low-grade Water Vein Card: Price 50 Faith Value.]
[Tier 1 Mid-grade Terrain Card (Plains): Price 50 Faith Value.]
[Tier 1 Micro Spirit Vein: Price 300 Faith Value.]
Looking at the prices, Fang Chuan felt confident. One hundred thousand Faith Value had astonishing purchasing power.
"Buy." Fang Chuan didn't hesitate and tapped with his mind.
He deducted 500 Faith Value to purchase one [Tier 1 High-grade Terrain Card (Glimmer Forest and Plains)].
He deducted 300 Faith Value to purchase one [Tier 1 Micro Spirit Vein].
He deducted 200 Faith Value to purchase one [Tier 1 Mid-grade Water Vein Card].
He deducted 500 Faith Value to purchase one hundred [Primary Food Drop Cards (Meat and Berries)].
Total cost: 1,500. Faith Value balance: 98,500. Tomorrow's interest would still be nearly 10,000, which was in a completely healthy state of operation.
His consciousness returned to the Divine Kingdom.
Fang Chuan hovered in the sky, raised his right hand, and four cards emitting different lights appeared in his palm.
Fang Chuan didn't have the habit of reciting chunibyo lines; he directly issued the command in his mind and crushed the cards.
Boom!
The deathly, gray, earthy land shook violently. The shriveled soil was forcibly overturned, and a clear river appeared out of thin air, winding its way through the 110,000 square kilometers of land.
Immediately after, patches of green spread wildly from the riverbanks; weeds, shrubs, and towering Glimmer Trees sprang up from the ground.
The dim yellow in the air was blown away, the micro spirit vein took root underground, and wisps of spiritual energy broke through the soil, nourishing this reborn world.
Below the altar, the five goblins that had been gnawing on tree bark were instantly frozen in fear by the commotion.
They felt the majestic power coming from deep within the earth and felt the cool water vapor descending from the sky. Their chaotic brains couldn't comprehend the great change before them, so they could only obey the instincts deep within their bloodlines, falling to their knees with a thud and kowtowing frantically toward the sky.
"Thank you, True God!"
