33: Chapter 33 Half-Demon Shadow Wolf

"Daxian, stop for a second."

After the Huorong Hound sprinted seven or eight miles, Chu Xiu suddenly said to Zhang Daxian.

"Huorong Hound, stop!"

"Brother Chu, what is it?"

Hearing Chu Xiu's words, Zhang Daxian commanded the Huorong Hound to stop, then turned his head to ask Chu Xiu, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes.

"Someone is following us."

Chu Xiu said calmly.

"What?"

Hearing this, Zhang Daxian was completely dumbfounded.

Chu Xiu did not explain. As soon as he finished speaking, he jumped off the Huorong Hound's back, looked back, and gave a cold shout: "You've been following for so long, it's time to come out, right?"

However, as his voice fell, the surroundings were dead silent, and no one appeared.

"Snow Crystal Silver Lion! Frost Impact!"

Seeing that the person following in the dark still wouldn't come out, Chu Xiu had a thought and immediately summoned the Snow Crystal Silver Lion from his Beast Taming Space, while pointing his hand toward the shadow of a dilapidated house.

The next moment, the silver-white Snow Crystal Silver Lion suddenly appeared beside Chu Xiu. Opening its mouth in the direction Chu Xiu pointed, it fiercely spat out a wave of white cold current.

Crack...

Wherever the cold current passed, the surrounding temperature dropped rapidly, and the moisture in the air completely condensed into grains of frost.

The place hit by the cold current was even frozen into a humanoid ice sculpture.

Bang!!!

However, as soon as this humanoid ice sculpture formed, it shattered with a bang, falling to the ground and turning into a pile of broken ice, revealing a man in black hiding in the shadows—none other than Shadow Wolf, a member of the Heavenly Demon Society.

"Kid, how did you find me?"

After Shadow Wolf appeared, he patted the residual ice crystals on his body and stared at Chu Xiu with a gloomy expression.

The incident happened so suddenly, and Chu Xiu's summons of the Snow Crystal Silver Lion attacked so abruptly that he didn't even have time to react.

Fortunately, the Snow Crystal Silver Lion summoned by Chu Xiu only had Black Iron Tier strength, which couldn't harm him a bit; otherwise, he would have capsized in the gutter today.

Even so, the fact that Chu Xiu could precisely locate his position still horrified him.

You must know that he had fused with the power of the beast Shadow Wolf. With his Silver Grade strength, even a Gold-tier Beastmaster wouldn't easily detect him when he was concealed in the shadows.

It was precisely because of this ability that he was sent out to scout the situation of the four Gold-tier Beastmasters within the Linjiang City City Defense Army and the Qingyi Bureau.

However, now his proud Stealth ability was easily seen through by Chu Xiu, a brash kid. While feeling incredulous, he also urgently wanted to figure out what was so special about Chu Xiu.

"To think there is still a powerhouse of the Heavenly Demon Society!"

Stared at by Shadow Wolf, Zhang Daxian beside Chu Xiu instantly felt as if he were targeted by a ferocious beast, and a chill suddenly arose.

Even the Huorong Hound beneath him couldn't help retreating a small step at this moment, its acute perception making it sense a huge threat from Shadow Wolf.

"I didn't expect the divine pet evolution system to have this function. Aside from displaying the attribute information of beasts and pet beasts, it can actually investigate some information about these demonic people of the Heavenly Demon Society!"

"With this function, whenever I encounter demonic people from the Heavenly Demon Society in the future, I can firmly seize the initiative and no longer be afraid of sneak attacks!"

Beside him, facing Shadow Wolf's exclamation, Chu Xiu only curved the corners of his mouth in secret joy, but did not reply out loud.

The reason he could discover Shadow Wolf lurking nearby was, just like when he could see Xiaodao using the Stealth skill in the Weimang Secret Realm at school, all thanks to the divine pet evolution system.

At this moment, in Chu Xiu's line of sight, a line of information hovered above Shadow Wolf's head.

[Half-Demon]

[Level]: Silver 4-Star

[Introduction]: A demonized person who has fused with the bloodline of the elite-quality beast 'Shadow Wolf', possessing a half-demon body and capable of wielding some abilities of the beast 'Shadow Wolf'.

Clearly, the other party was just like the previous seven Silver Grade half-demons—all powerhouses sent by the Heavenly Demon Society to sneak into Qingshan Town and assassinate their group of students this time.

"Hmph, so what if you can find me? Just with two Black Iron Tier ants like you, it is simply impossible to block my attack. Go to hell!"

Seeing Chu Xiu remain silent, Shadow Wolf's expression grew even gloomier, and he suddenly made a move, charging to kill Chu Xiu and Zhang Daxian.

Although he desperately wanted to figure out what means Chu Xiu used to discover him, the situation in Qingshan Town did not allow him to waste too much time.

These powerhouses of the Heavenly Demon Society plunged headfirst into the trap set jointly by the three forces of the Qingyi Bureau, the City Defense Army, and Linjiang No. 1 High School; failure of the mission was already certain.

Now all he could do was kill Chu Xiu and Zhang Daxian before him, then extricate himself as much as possible and escape this place to save his life.

Moreover, in his view, although Chu Xiu did not appear on their assassination list this time, the talent and strength displayed by the other party exceeded their primary assassination target this time, 'Han Ziyue'.

As long as he slew Chu Xiu, when he returned to the Heavenly Demon Society and reported the situation truthfully, even if none of the original targets of this operation were resolved, he could still obtain a generous reward.

"Brother Chu, watch out!"

"Huorong Hound, Scorching Ray!"

Beside Chu Xiu, Zhang Daxian also recovered from his horror at this moment, immediately commanding the Huorong Hound to attack the charging Shadow Wolf.

At the same time, the Snow Crystal Silver Lion in front of Chu Xiu once again activated the skill 'Frost Impact', heading straight for Shadow Wolf's face.

Attacks of ice and fire assaulted Shadow Wolf simultaneously. With the attacks of two rare-tier pet beasts erupting at the same time, even a Bronze Tier beast would have to give way by three points.

"Heh, is that it?"

Facing the attacks of the Huorong Hound and the Snow Crystal Silver Lion, Shadow Wolf sneered. In the blink of an eye, his hands turned into a pair of wolf claws, and with a forward wave, he actually shattered the attacks of both directly, without suffering the slightest damage himself.

After breaking the attacks of the Snow Crystal Silver Lion and the Huorong Hound, Shadow Wolf's speed did not decrease, and in the blink of an eye, he rushed in front of Chu Xiu, his sharp claws grabbing toward Chu Xiu's chest.

"Kid! Go to hell!"

Clang!!!

A harsh metallic clanging sound suddenly rang out. Not only did Shadow Wolf's strike fail to land on Chu Xiu, but his figure was instead repelled back by several meters.

As soon as Shadow Wolf steadied his footsteps, he looked with shock at the dark green figure blocking in front of Chu Xiu.

Feeling the lingering tingling sensation coming from his double claws, he cried out in disbelief: "Silver Grade pet beast! How is this possible?!"

"What Silver Grade pet beast? Isn't this Brother Chu's mutated Scythe Mantis?"

Hearing Shadow Wolf's exclamation, the still-shaken Zhang Daxian looked at the Dark Blade Mantis in front of Chu Xiu with a blank expression.

But soon, he suddenly widened his eyes and said in astonishment: "Wait, no, Brother Chu's mutated mantis actually repelled the Heavenly Demon Society's guy just now!"

"Doesn't that mean it's just like what the demonic person of the Heavenly Demon Society said—Brother Chu's pet beast has Silver Grade strength?!"

"And the lion Brother Chu just summoned should be Brother Chu's second pet beast, which has also reached the Black Iron Tier!"

"My goodness, what on earth has Brother Chu been doing these past twenty days of disappearance? How did he suddenly become so badass?"

Only then did Zhang Daxian react, staring at Chu Xiu with wide eyes as if looking at a monster. Monstrous waves surged in his heart, unable to calm down for a long time.
