Chapter 33: Two Surprising Pieces of Intelligence
Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Two Surprising Pieces of Intelligence
The value of iron ore is extremely important in any world, even in this extraordinary world today. A large iron ore deposit is particularly valuable, not just because iron itself is a unit of currency, but more importantly, the secret silver iron that may be produced from a large iron ore deposit is one of the main materials for creating Silver Armor.
Controlling a large iron ore deposit means that there will be a continuous opportunity in the territory to create the crucial Silver Armor.
Compared to Black Iron Armor and Brass Armor, Silver Armor is truly extraordinary armor and is almost the hard currency of the entire market.
The value of Black Iron Armor is extremely low, worth only about ten Silver Coins per set. Even in the Northern Province, the price of a set of Black Iron Armor is not exorbitantly high, just about twenty to thirty Silver Coins. Brass Armor is slightly more expensive, but its value is only about two to three Gold Coins.
But Silver Armor is different.
In the Frost Moon Province, a set of Silver Armor costs hundreds of Gold Coins, and in the Northern Province, the price is even higher.
The secret silver iron needed for Silver Armor, even if not forged into Silver Armor, just selling the material alone is valued at over eighty Gold Coins by the Habbs Commerce Association’s purchase price. Selling to other nobility could fetch possibly a hundred Gold Coins or more. If it is forged into Silver Armor and then sold to other nobles, the value often exceeds three hundred Gold Coins. Even in the Northern Province, with the price of the most robust peasant slaves at twenty Silver Coins each, three hundred Gold Coins is enough to buy fifteen hundred slaves.
And a large iron ore deposit.
Even calculating by the case Thor knew of producing the least amount of secret silver iron.
A large iron ore deposit can produce at least twenty sets of Silver Armor.
This is from the smallest large iron ore deposit.
For the current large iron ore deposit, Thor has no doubt that its secret silver iron reserves are enough to produce over fifty sets.
Perhaps even more.
This kind of wealth, except for Marquis Reman, probably no one in the entire Northern Province could resist.
Thor is no exception either.
His father, Count Engel Dressrosa, did indeed provide him with a decent amount of start-up capital.
No one would complain about having more wealth.
Especially since this is wealth worth over ten million Gold Coins.
If word gets out, Thor has no doubt that the surrounding nobles and Pioneer Knights will wage war against him.
In the Northern Province.
Except for Loren City, chaos is the best synonym.
Of the more than fifty titled nobles, only about thirty remain now, and the rest may have perished in pioneering wars. However, no one can guarantee whether they died in wars of annexation between each other.
The slaves in Loren City aren’t just transported from other provinces of the Kingdom.
Quite a few of those slaves are originally from the Northern Province.
It’s just that no one speaks of these matters, nor does anyone bring them up.
The defeated have long accompanied the undead, and their traces on this land will be washed away with time.
Thor does not want to become one of them.
After further ensuring the reserves here, he began issuing new orders.
First, the entire iron ore deposit area was to be fenced off.
To form his own territory.
Then, Knights and Preparatory Knights were dispatched to explore the surroundings, ensuring that no information would be leaked.
After these matters were dealt with, the time gradually approached midnight.
The stars dotted the sky.
As the night deepened.
The familiar system notification sound rang out again.
"Buzz!"
[Daily Intelligence Updated]
[1: A herd of unicorns will be passing through the upper reaches of Maine River Valley at dusk tomorrow, led by a unicorn at Tier Two Peak]
[2: Three miles to the left of Eagle Ridge, there is a groundhog habitat]
[3: 200 miles to the right, a Sky Spirit Dragon has left its parental nest, and it is now occupied by a group of Earth Dragons, containing the treasures it collected]
[4, 1000 miles from Loren City, there is a small iron ore guarded by goblins in Luoye Valley.]
[5: Inside the lair of timid goblins on the left, there seems to be an unexpected surprise]
[6: Magic elements are gathering in the large iron ore deposit, and in three months, a piece of refined gold will be born.]
[7: In the forest thirty miles to the right of the large iron ore deposit, there is a small green goblin settlement.]
.....
The familiar daily intelligence system updated as expected.
Thor’s gaze naturally gathered upon it.
His eyes scanned through each piece of daily intelligence, lingering a few more times where the Sky Spirit Dragon was mentioned. He had been watching that place ever since the Sky Spirit Dragon left its nest. He wanted to go back then, but it was just too far—within a thousand miles—requiring venturing deep into the Northern Province, which was too risky with his current strength.
After arriving in Maine River Valley, the distance reduced to a mere hundred miles, attainable in a day or two, but it was soon occupied by a group of Earth Dragons, and even the Sky Spirit Dragon’s egg disappeared, forcing Thor to abandon the idea.
But each refresh of the daily intelligence still left him with some thoughts.
Yet, for now, he could only harbor some thoughts.
He paused for a moment before moving his gaze away, looking at the remaining daily intelligence content.
And when he saw the fifth and especially the sixth entry.
His breathing became heavy.
Refined Gold.
Unlike Secret Silver Iron.
Refined Gold is a higher-grade magic material.
It is generally one of the main materials for crafting Golden Armor.
If Secret Silver Iron’s price is already extremely high.
Then Refined Gold’s price has reached terrifying numbers.
A piece of Refined Gold for crafting Golden Armor is worth as much as a bottle of Intermediate Life Potion.
That’s over a thousand Gold Coins.
This is before it has been crafted into armor; once crafted, its price would be even higher.
At an auction in the Frost Moon Province, a set of Golden Armor often costs over five thousand Gold Coins, even when the highest price for Mid-Level Life Potions is only three thousand Gold Coins. Five thousand coins could already purchase almost two bottles of Intermediate Life Potions.
Certainly, such a price is normal.
After all, Intermediate Life Potions can at most give an Earth Knight Peak a certain chance to break through to Earth Knight.
Not a hundred percent, and the probability is likely only around ten percent.
Whereas Golden Armor is truly capable of withstanding attacks from an Earth Knight.
The value is naturally incomparable.
Only a High-Level Life Potion can surpass the price of Golden Armor.
After all, a High-Level Life Potion gives an Earth Knight Peak over a fifty percent chance of breaking through into a Sky Knight.
