"Ignoring the fact that you said we were just sleeping together when we weren’t... you write one thing, but your racing heart when I touch you says another," he said slowly, his tone deliberate, even as he crawled onto the bed.Rymora scrambled back, her hands digging into the sheets.

"I can beg you, if that helps. Whatever it is... I’m sure I can help," he said, and there was a pleading look in his eyes that startled her. She had not expected to see that expression on Drehk’s face. Still, she stubbornly shook her head.

Her wary eyes stayed fixed on him, the unspoken question heavy in them—are you going to force me?—as he kept coming, not stopping.

But then Drehk made his choice clear. He leaned his head close, his breath warm against her ear as he whispered, "If you want to go... then go. Let this be the last time we sleep together."

The words shook her. As much as she was tempted, she instantly began to shake her head, more vigorously than she meant to. She couldn’t.

Drehk didn’t stop. He pressed closer until his chest was against hers, his strong hands sliding down to her thighs. His voice deepened with intensity. "I have never treated you badly, and we both know you’re not even giving me the real reason why you want to stop sleeping with me. Something we both enjoy."
