Chapter 126: SPECIAL WEREWOLF

Rex was sent flying several meters away. For the first time since waking from his slumber, Aaron had attacked someone with everything he got without holding back. The punch landed with explosive force, Rex’s body crashing through rubble like a cannonball, dust and debris erupting in his wake.Rex crashed through several buildings without even slowing down. The structures, already weakened from the city’s destruction, crumbled further, bricks and metal raining down in a cacophony of chaos.

After several crashes, Rex finally came to a stop amidst a heap of ruin. He lay in a crater, coughing blood, his body bruised but regeneration kicking in, eyes blazing with defiance.

"Tell me. What do you know about my parents?" Aaron asked, appearing before Rex, his gaze cold. The question burned in his chest, the mention of his family igniting a fire that his hybrid blood amplified.

"You will have to put me through more damage to get an answer," Rex said, a neutral look on his face as he refused to cower before a vampire. His voice was steady, the pain fueling his resolve, a werewolf’s pride refusing to break.

"Is that so?"

"Urghhh!!!" Rex screamed, unable to withstand the torture he was going through. It felt like his blood was boiling and at the same time his blood was rapidly trying to destroy his body. The pain was visceral, every nerve on fire, his body convulsing as Aaron’s blood needles pierced his veins.

"What did you do to me?" Rex asked, blood flowing from his orifices, his vision blurring from the agony.

"I’m asking nicely. Tell me what I wish to know," Aaron warned for the last time, controlling the needles to hit precisely the pain nerves of Rex. The control was precise, each prick amplifying the torment, Aaron’s face a mask of cold determination.

Aaron put Rex through a series of pain, but Rex refused to spill anything, remaining silent until even his regeneration could not keep up. His body trembled, wounds reopening as fast as they healed, sweat mixing with blood on his fur.

"Hah. Hah. Guess this is it. I...failed...I couldn’t defeat every vampire. I failed you all," Rex said, his eyes half closing, as his bodily functions deteriorated to critical state, his death only a matter of time. His breaths came in ragged gasps, the weight of his clan’s destruction crushing him in his final moments.

"Who told you this is over?" Aaron said coldly, placing his hands on Rex as he reverted Rex to the state before he started inflicting damage, using his Primordial talent. The reversal was eerie, time bending around Rex, wounds vanishing, blood retreating, his body snapping back to peak condition in a blink.

"Now. Let’s begin all over again, shall we?" Aaron stared into Rex’s eyes, his gaze portraying cruelty, coldness, and lack of mercy. The air grew heavy, Aaron’s hybrid aura pressing down like a storm about to break.

For the first time, Rex shuddered. His face showed fear, not the one that betrayed no emotion. The realization hit him like a hammer—death wasn’t an escape; this vampire could loop the torture forever.

"You are finally registering with reality, right? Then it’s best you start talking," Aaron said calmly, creating more blood needles. The needles hovered, glinting in the light, ready to plunge again, the threat hanging like a noose.

"Draken. I captured them from Draken. They were led to a dungeon where I lay waiting. Capturing them," Rex said, his will finally broken, the words spilling out in a defeated rush.

"Are they alive?"

"Don’t think so. They must have been drained dry by Draken for his sick plan." Rex’s voice was hoarse, the confession tasting bitter on his tongue.

"What plan?" Aaron asked, barely containing himself from exploding, his fists clenching, blood pounding in his ears.

"Corrupting this world till it’s been perfectly demonized. It’s what he has always done," Rex said, explaining Draken’s plan to Aaron. The details unfolded like a dark scroll, the demonic scheme laid bare, a plot to twist the planet into a hellish domain.

"I see. So what should I do to you?" Aaron asked, his fury still not contained, his mind weighing revenge against utility. Chapters first released on novelhall.com

"What?"

[Spare him. He will benefit you greatly if he is alive. He’s a very special werewolf. He is a werewolf born once in a millennium with explosive growth rate.]

"He is the same person that hurt my parents. You can’t expect me to forgive him," Aaron debated with his system, his voice mental but laced with rage.

[You don’t have to be stubborn this time around. His unique abilities are ones that’s coveted by several powerhouses. Wonder how Draken got his hand on him.]

"What’s so special about him?" Aaron asked, unconvinced by the system’s advice, his eyes still locked on Rex’s broken form.

[Devour. That skill is pretty insane if he is allowed to grow. He can devour all things. Energy, celestial bodies, anything and everything to foster his growth.]

"Tsk. I’m only sparing his life just so you don’t mess with my rewards," Aaron said, finally calming down for the time being, the system’s logic overriding his vengeance—for now.

"Tell me. Why do you hate vampires?" Aaron asked Rex, searching desperately for an excuse to kill Rex, his fingers itching to end it.

"Doesn’t matter. An excuse is an excuse."

"Dracula. He wiped my clan from the universe and went as far as driving the others away from the universe. Why shouldn’t I hate vampires?" Rex said, a tired look on his face. He had resigned himself to fate, expecting death. A part of him though, felt relieved. He could finally rest and not be someone’s pawn.

"Tsk. You couldn’t even provide a better reason," Aaron said, clicking his tongue as he fed Rex his blood. The blood dripped from his wrist into Rex’s mouth, the hybrid essence seeping in, beginning the change.

With a brutal swing, he tore Rex’s head from his neck. The rip was savage, blood spraying, Rex’s body slumping as the head rolled away.

[Was that necessary?] The system asked, tired of Aaron’s pettiness, its voice echoing in his head like an exasperated mentor.

"Very. He did it to Alice. Just a little payback," Aaron replied, returning to Alice, the satisfaction of the act lingering like a dark high.

"Urgh. Is this the after life?" Rex groaned, his head already regrown, with the other one disintegrating to nothing. He sat up, confusion etched on his face, touching his neck where the wound had been.

"Nope. You are very much alive," Aaron, a few meters away, said to Rex, not slowing down to give the confused Rex an answer, his steps purposeful through the ruins.

"But you tore my head off," Rex said, recalling Aaron’s brutal actions, his voice laced with disbelief as he staggered to his feet.

"That was for trying to do the same to my wife. I simply gave you more power. Turned you into a hybrid and immortal," Aaron explained, his tone casual but edged with warning.

"Are you coming or not?" Aaron finally lost his patience waiting for Rex to use his head as he was forced to stop in his tracks. The ruins around them seemed to mock the delay, wind whistling through the debris like laughter at Rex’s confusion.
