66: Chapter 66 The Twins' Competitive Spirit

Lin Le stood with her hands behind her back in front of Qi Yun, her large, amber eyes staring at him without blinking.

That look in her eyes was a bit complex.

A bit... pouty?

"Le Le?"

Qi Yun stopped in his tracks, feeling somewhat surprised.

Usually, if this girl came looking for him, she would have already bounded over to him.

Lin Le tilted her head slightly, her voice not loud, yet she asked clearly:

"Qi Yun, did you... kiss my sister yesterday?"

Qi Yun's heart skipped a beat, but his expression remained calm.

Was this girl here to "cross-examine" him?

He gave a vague "Mm" and nodded, effectively admitting it.

Lin Le pursed her lips, took a small step forward to get closer to him, and continued to press him with a burning gaze:

"Then... did you use your tongue?"

This question was even more direct than the last one, and harder to handle.

Qi Yun looked into Lin Le's eyes, which were identical to her sister's.

He found it amusing, yet felt a bit helpless. This girl really asked such detailed questions.

He nodded again.

As expected, Lin Le's little face instantly fell.

The previous poutiness turned into blatant displeasure, even tinged with a bit of grievance.

She stamped her foot, her voice rising:

"But... but I haven't done that yet!"

This sentence carried a young girl's unique coquettishness and righteous indignation, as if Qi Yun had done something terribly wrong to her.

Qi Yun was almost amused by her appearance and followed her lead, asking:

"Then... what do you want?"

"Compensation!"

Lin Le immediately retorted, hands on her hips, in a "you must be responsible" stance.

"How should I compensate?"

Qi Yun looked at her, wanting to hear what kind of "compensation plan" she could come up with.

Lin Le's cheeks flushed slightly, but her gaze was unusually firm.

She took a deep breath and announced clearly, word by word:

"Whatever my sister has done to you... I, I, I want to do it all once, too!"

Qi Yun: "...Huh?"

This time, he was truly stunned.

What kind of compensation was this? Did these twin sisters' thought processes come with a competitive function?

Seeing the look of obvious shock on Qi Yun's face, Lin Le seemed even more energized.

No longer giving Qi Yun time to react, she stepped forward and grabbed his hand.

With an unyielding force that brooked no argument, she led him toward his room.

"Hey, Le Le, wait..."

Qi Yun was dragged along by her, feeling somewhat amused yet helpless.

Did this girl eat gunpowder today? Her strength seemed to have increased quite a bit.

"Less talk! Follow me!" Lin Le didn't look back, her ears red as blood, but her pace was swift.

And so, under the curious and knowing gazes of several passing girls, Qi Yun was dragged back to his room once again.

"Bang!"

Lin Le closed the door behind her.

She turned around, leaning her back against the door panel, her chest rising and falling slightly.

Qi Yun stood in the center of the room, looking at her, waiting for her instructions.

Lin Le calmed her breathing, scanned the room, and pointed a slender finger toward the soft, large bed.

"You... go sit over there!"

She commanded, her voice tight with nervousness.

Qi Yun sighed inwardly at this strange competitive spirit of the twins.

But he still complied and walked over, sitting down on the large bed with a relaxed posture and a playful look in his eyes.

"And then?"

He asked.

Lin Le took a deep breath, like a soldier about to head into battle.

She walked, step by step, slowly, to where Qi Yun was.

Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it was about to burst.

Especially being looked at by Qi Yun like that, she felt so shy she wanted to run away immediately.

"You, you close your eyes!"

Lin Le suddenly reached out and covered Qi Yun's eyes, her voice filled with shy annoyance.

Qi Yun obediently closed his eyes; the darkness made his other senses more acute.

He couldn't help but chuckle softly:

"Hahaha, yesterday your sister... didn't make me close my eyes, nor was she this hesitant."

"Shut up! You're not allowed to mention my sister! And you're not allowed to laugh!"

Lin Le was frantic, pressing down on his eyes with a bit more force.

"Just, just keep them closed like that! Don't you dare peek!"

"Alright, alright, I won't look, I won't look." Qi Yun suppressed his laughter and, as promised, didn't open his eyes again.

The world plunged into darkness.

With his vision cut off, his hearing, sense of smell, and sense of touch became exceptionally clear.

He could hear Lin Le's slightly rapid breathing, and smell the fresh, sweet fragrance coming from her—similar to Lin Wan's from yesterday, yet slightly different.

Inexplicably, this feeling of closing his eyes and waiting for an unknown "attack" was actually even more stimulating.

His heart rate began to accelerate involuntarily, carrying a certain secret anticipation.

He felt Lin Le's fragrance approaching, getting closer and closer.

Then came her breath, warmly brushing against his cheek.

She must be blushing, biting her lip, with her eyes wide open, wanting to get close but scared to death.

Finally, he felt a weight settle on his lap.

A warm, soft body, slightly trembling, carefully and bit by bit, sat onto his lap.

The weight was light, but it carried an astonishing sense of presence and warmth.

Qi Yun's Adam's apple bobbed, and he tried hard to keep his breathing steady.

He still kept his eyes closed and asked softly:

"Can I open my eyes now?"

From above came Lin Le's voice, as soft as a mosquito's buzz yet trying hard to sound calm: "Y-yes, you can..."

Qi Yun slowly opened his eyes.

What came into view was a flushed, beautiful face just inches away.

The features were identical to her sister's, but at this moment, they displayed a completely different charm.

Her amber eyes were shimmering, and because she was too shy, they were even veiled in a thin mist of moisture.

Her rosy lips were parted slightly, her breathing rapid and chaotic, and her warm breath sprayed entirely onto his face.

Even though it was the same face, why did it feel so different?

A strange feeling surged in Qi Yun's heart.

He looked tenderly at the girl before him who was forcing herself to be brave, a smile curling at the corner of his lips:

"Then... shall we start the next step?"

Lin Le felt uncomfortable under his gaze, her heart beating so fast it made her dizzy.

But thinking of her sister's "feat" last night, she didn't want to admit defeat.

She mustered her courage, puffed out her chest—which wasn't actually very prominent—and stammered:

"Th-that goes without saying!"

She slowly, bit by bit, moved closer to Qi Yun's face.

Their breaths grew closer and closer, almost mingling together.

Closer and closer... closer and closer...

Just at the moment before their lips were about to touch.

Lin Le suddenly let out a low gasp of "Ah," and abruptly stretched out her hands to cover Qi Yun's eyes again!

"A-as I thought, it's better if you keep your eyes closed!"

Her voice carried a tone of crumbling shy annoyance.

"Pfft—" This time, Qi Yun finally couldn't hold it in and chuckled softly.

This girl, is she too cute?

Just a moment ago, she had that look of "going to her death," but in the end, she chickened out at the last second.

"Don't laugh! If you laugh again, I won't kiss you!"

Lin Le shook the hands covering his eyes, threatening him.

"Alright, alright, I won't laugh, I won't laugh."

Qi Yun closed his eyes again, even proactively adjusting his posture to let her sit more securely.

His vision was cut off once more.

This time, without the interference of his gaze, Lin Le seemed to have finally mustered her last bit of courage.

Qi Yun could clearly feel her body tensing up.

Then

A soft, slightly cool sensation gently pressed against his lips.

Very light, very fast.

It was clearly just the simplest of touches, so why... did his heart skip a beat,

and then accelerate crazily?

Qi Yun thought, puzzled, and slowly opened his eyes.

Before him, Lin Le was panting heavily, her chest rising and falling.

She looked at him, her lips moving, as if she wanted to say something, but didn't say it.

Qi Yun looked at her in this state, his heart turning soft, yet he couldn't help but feel a desire to tease her:

"You didn't use your tongue."

"!!!"

Lin Le was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, instantly bristling:

"I, I know! Wait a second! Let me... let me prepare myself mentally!"
