141: Sorry, that's not a chimney.

A harsh screech of metal grinding exploded.

A trail of orange sparks sprayed high from behind the vehicle's rear.

"Fuck! Steady! Keep it steady for me!"

Inside the carriage.

Bearded Man gripped the handrail, his body slamming left and right with the jolts.

"Boss! The steering wheel is locked! I can't move it!"

The driver used every ounce of strength he had, hanging his whole weight on the steering wheel, his face turning the color of pig liver.

But this bus, welded over with steel plates, was simply too heavy.

Without the support of tires, even with the engine roaring and spewing black smoke, it could only spin in circles on the ground.

In the mist behind them, the beast tide was drawing closer and closer.

A mutated wild boar with three eyes was the first to burst through the bushes, slamming into the bus's flat tire rim.

"Damn it! Since we can't leave, let's fight them to the death!"

Bearded Man kicked the door open and prepared to jump out, chainsaw in hand.

He was a ruthless man who had clawed his way through the apocalypse; he still had this much grit.

As long as they used this modified vehicle as cover, a dozen or so small monsters might not be able to do much to them.

Just as he stepped out of the car door.

The ground gave a sudden jolt.

Thump!

An incredibly heavy pressure bore down from above, making Bearded Man's eardrums throb.

"This is..."

He froze, feeling as if something had its eyes on him.

"Boss! Ahead! Look ahead!"

Looking in the direction he pointed.

There, in the mist dozens of meters away, stood two pitch-black, incredibly thick cylinders.

They pierced the clouds, impossibly thick.

"Chimneys! They're the factory's giant chimneys!"

The lackey danced with wild joy.

"Boss! Those are the Thermal Power Plant's chimneys! They're made of reinforced concrete! We'll be safe as long as we hide inside!"

Bearded Man's eyes darted rapidly.

Indeed.

Those two chimneys were only dozens of meters away; if they could just move the car over, there would be a glimmer of hope!

"Good! Let's go over there!"

Overjoyed, Bearded Man hacked a mutated wild boar to death and roared, "Everyone out and push! Driver, give it some gas!"

"Our chance to live is right in front of us! Everyone move it!"

The will to survive allowed this group of thugs to burst with incredible potential.

Over a dozen burly men jumped out, gritting their teeth as veins bulged while they pushed against the rear of the bus.

"One, two, push!"

The engine roared, and black smoke billowed.

The crippled bus moved bit by bit toward the two magnificent chimneys.

If one ignored the monsters chasing behind them.

This scene was actually quite inspiring.

Like a group of dung beetles working together to push a ball of dung home.

In the shadows, Lin Keke covered her mouth, her face flushed red.

"Pfft..."

She had to use all her strength to keep from laughing out loud.

Really.

It was too wicked.

She looked up at the indifferent Chen Du, then back at the energetic Bearded Man in the distance.

This was probably the legendary "not even knowing how you died."

"Captain," Xia Lai swallowed hard.

Although they were hundreds of meters away.

And although An Nuonuo's air wall isolated their presence.

Looking at those two pillars reaching into the sky still made her delicate body tremble.

Were those chimneys?

Those were the legs of the giant that had just treated the Meat Processing Plant like a buffet!

Are these people blind?

Such a huge living thing is breathing right there, and they can't hear it?

"Sometimes, ignorance is bliss."

Chen Du didn't bother to look further; he continued on his way while playing with a lighter.

Click.

A flame flickered up, then went out.

"Look, how happily they're laughing."

They were indeed happy.

"We're here! Almost there! Ten more meters!"

Bearded Man wiped the greasy sweat from his face, looking at the chimneys right in front of him.

"Old Five, go find the entrance! Everyone else, shields up! If those beasts dare come closer, hack them to pieces!"

At this moment.

A dozen or so mutated wild boars had also caught up.

But strangely, after approaching this area, they all suddenly began to slam on the brakes.

Their four hooves plowed deep furrows into the ground.

Snorting heavily, they actually began to retreat with their tails between their legs.

"Hahaha! See that! Boss is mighty!" The lackey was halfway through his laugh when his voice suddenly caught in his throat.

Bearded Man didn't laugh.

He stared fixedly at the mutated pigs fleeing in terror.

He had seen that look before; it was the fear of being driven into a corner by a natural predator.

But... where was the thing that even mutated beasts feared?

An ominous premonition instantly exploded!

Before he could figure it out, his back touched a "chimney."

The sensation was a bit strange.

It wasn't cold; instead, it radiated a searing heat.

Bearded Man was stunned.

He instinctively reached out and touched it, his hand coming away covered in grease.

He looked up along the massive cylinder.

His gaze pierced through the thin mist.

Ten meters... twenty meters... thirty meters... and then.

He saw two spheres hanging in mid-air, larger than car tires.

No! These aren't chimneys!

In the blink of an eye, the chimney moved.

Rumble—!

The ground suddenly began to tilt.

The wall in front of Bearded Man was slowly rising.

"This... what the hell..."

The cigarette butt in Bearded Man's mouth fell to the ground.

He stiffly turned his neck and looked at the lackey beside him.

"Run!!"

Before this roar could fully squeeze out of his throat.

The sky overhead went dark.

A massive foot that blotted out the sun descended unstoppably.

No fancy skills.

Just pure physical mass crushing everything.

When this foot landed, it was like a hydraulic press bursting a can of expired tomato paste.

Crunch!

A dull thud.

Blood mixed with engine oil squirted out over a dozen meters from between the giant toes!

That modified bus.

That Bearded Man holding the chainsaw.

That group of thugs dreaming of playing with women and eating roasted meat.

In an instant.

They turned into a red and black pancake embedded in the dirt.

Boom—!!!

The aftershock of this foot hitting the ground swept out in all directions!

The nearby mutated pig herd was blown over a dozen meters away by the air blast, slamming into tree trunks without even daring to grunt.

The Beast Giant slightly adjusted its stance, then continued to stride forward with those sky-reaching legs toward the pier.

Hot steam hissed from the pores on its back, leaving a trail of high heat... the forest became so quiet that even the chirping of insects vanished.

"Wow..."

Lin Keke hid behind a tree, her eyes shining as she gestured. "The damage from that stomp is definitely off the charts! Is this the legendary War Stomp? So cool!"

Meanwhile, Xia Lai clutched her chest in pain, looking at the pile of scrap metal. "What a waste of that V8 engine... I didn't even get a chance to dismantle it yet. Such a reckless waste of resources!"

An Nuonuo stared blankly at the massive, smoking crater in the distance.

It was as big as a basketball court.

And just half a minute ago, there had been a bus there, along with a vehicle full of living people.

"Is this... Rule-grade power?"

Xia Xin's hand holding the bow was trembling.

She used to think her archery was divine, that as long as she kept her distance, there was nothing she couldn't kill.

But this thing... even if she shot at it for ten thousand years, it would probably only be like filing the monster's calluses.

"It's not Rule-grade yet."

Chen Du brushed the dust off his clothes and said calmly, "At most, it's an Overlord!"

"At most... an Overlord?"

Crab Claw Man felt his bladder showing signs of losing control again and quickly clamped his legs shut.

Chen Du ignored everyone's shock.

His gaze pierced through the smoking footprint, locking onto something within that puddle of mangled flesh.

In his mind, the sacrifice notebook flipped frantically!

[Detected wreckage of another Survival Vehicle!]

[Special drop determination in progress... Among this pile of trash, there's actually a treasure?]

"Interesting."

"It seems these Wealth-bearing boys are of some use after all."

Chen Du stopped in his tracks, his eyes playful.

"What's wrong?"

Li Yaozhi seemed to have noticed something and asked softly, "Did you find something useful?"

Chen Du nodded in response. "Perhaps! Let's go take a look!"
