8: Tempting Little Moon [Please continue reading]
After finishing her bath, Ji Ziyue walked out of the steamy pool, wearing a silk light purple camisole nightgown and barefoot with her small, fair, jade-like feet.
Her wet black hair clung to the smooth side of her neck and cheeks, making her snow-white skin stand out even more. Her small face was steamed to a tender pink, like a freshly peeled boiled egg, carrying a pure yet lazy charm.
Just as she walked to the dressing table and picked up a soft towel to dry her hair, she caught a glimpse of that haunting figure out of the corner of her eye. Like a ghost, he appeared in her room again with that signature mischievous smile.
“Ah!” Little Moon was startled, nearly throwing the towel away.
She pointed at Chu Feng angrily and accused him, “You guy! Can you stop always appearing so suddenly! You scared me to death! Also, why are you still in my house? Didn't I tell you to leave?”
Facing Little Moon's accusations, Chu Feng spread his hands helplessly. He put on a perfect expression of “I’m innocent,” but the cunning in his eyes betrayed him:
“I want to leave too, but the world is vast and the Universe is immense; I have nowhere to go! I can only temporarily stay in your warm little nest. Don't worry, I won't stay for free; I'll pay rent!”
“Rent?” Little Moon blinked her big eyes, confused by this unfamiliar term, but what rendered her even more speechless was Chu Feng's self-righteous, persistent logic. “Just because you have nowhere to go, you can stay here? What kind of logic is that! Also, what on earth is rent?”
She huffed, no longer looking at that annoying guy. She sat down angrily on the embroidered stool in front of the vanity mirror, picked up the towel, and began rubbing her wet hair somewhat roughly, as if treating the hair like Chu Feng's face.
“Don't be so stingy, Little Moon.” Chu Feng approached with a grin, pulled over a nearby chair to sit down on his own, propped his elbows on the dressing table, and rested his chin in his hands. He watched the lovely girl in the mirror with great interest, her cheeks slightly puffed out from anger.
“How about this: as the ‘rent’ for staying here, I can grant you one wish, as long as it's within my power. How's that? Pretty generous, right?”
Hearing this, Little Moon's movements stopped.
She turned her head and looked Chu Feng up and down with her big eyes, which were still misty. Her gaze was full of suspicion. “You? Grant my wish?”
No matter how she looked at him, she felt that aside from being thick-skinned and reasonably good-looking, this guy didn't seem like an expert who could grant wishes.
Chu Feng nodded very certainly, his expression becoming rare and serious for a moment: “Of course, I, Chu Feng, keep my word. As long as you want it and as long as I can do it. Of course, the premise is that it can't exceed my capabilities. For example, if you ask me to help you become an Emperor in the next second, that won't work—I haven't even become an Emperor myself yet.”
“Pfft—Hahaha!!!” Little Moon couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing, almost dropping the towel. “You? Become an Emperor? Hahaha! If you can become an Emperor, then I, Ji Ziyue, could become an Immortal on the spot! You're bragging without even a script!”
She laughed so hard her body shook, thinking this was the funniest joke she had heard all day.
In her understanding, Chu Feng was a guy who had just joined the Chat Group, didn't even have teleportation points, and needed to “scam food and drink.” His strength was at most the Four Extremities Secret Realm, similar to her brother's, or perhaps even inferior.
As for his title of “Chaos Heavenly Venerate,” it was surely something he made up to bluff people. They all subconsciously ignored Chu Feng's previous statement about “hiding for a thousand years.” After all, in their knowledge, Cultivators below the Xiantai Secret Realm simply couldn't live that long.
Chu Feng looked at the laughing Little Moon, who had lost all sense of her image, and didn't argue. He simply smiled and said, “Become an Immortal? You certainly can. But not now. In the future, you will enter the Immortal Realm and become a true Immortal.”
This sudden, certain “prophecy” stunned Little Moon, and her laughter stopped abruptly.
She looked at Chu Feng in confusion, tilted her head, and asked, “An Immortal? Are there really Immortals in this world? Forget Immortals—in this era, even a Dao Severing King hasn't been seen for who knows how many years.” Her tone carried a hint of uncertainty about the unknown as she continued to dry the ends of her hair with the towel.
“This era is suppressed by the Dao traces of the Azure Emperor. The laws of heaven and earth are firm. To sever the Dao and become a King indeed requires much more effort and Opportunity than those who came before.”
Chu Feng spoke eloquently, a deep insight into the world flashing in his eyes. “However, there are always some special Physiques or Heaven-Defying Opportunities that can break such shackles.”
“Oh?” Little Moon turned her head, a playful smile on her face. “Judging by your tone, are you some kind of peerless Genius with a special Physique?”
She leaned in closer and asked with a grin, “So, Mr. ‘Genius,’ what kind of powerful Physique do you have? Is it stronger than my brother's Eastern Wasteland Divine Body? Also, my brother is currently at the Perfection of the Four Extremities Secret Realm, and his strength is terrifying! Whether you can even beat my brother is a question!”
Looking at Little Moon’s “my brother is number one in the world” attitude, the corner of Chu Feng's mouth curled into a playful arc. “Beating your brother? Simple. Even you could do it yourself.”
“Me?” Little Moon’s eyes widened.
“That's right.” Chu Feng guided her patiently. “As long as you agree to let me stay here, I will teach you the method to defeat your brother. How about it? Once that happens, he'll have no reason to force you to Cultivate every day, and you can sleep whenever you want.”
This proposal instantly hit Ji Ziyue's most desired weakness! No need to Cultivate! Being able to sleep in! And being able to defeat that brother who was always lecturing her with a stern face! This... this was simply an irresistible temptation!
Her eyes lit up instantly like two twinkling stars, but then they dimmed again. She pursed her lips and said in a dejected tone, “Stronger than my brother? You make it sound so easy... My brother is at the Perfection of the Four Extremities Secret Realm and is among the top of the younger generation in the Eastern Wasteland. You want me to catch up to him? That would take forever...”
She clearly harbored deep doubts about Chu Feng's words, thinking he was still bragging.
Seeing Little Moon's lack of confidence, Chu Feng felt both annoyed and amused.
He was annoyed that this little girl looked down on him so much, and amused that including her, those Fairies in the group seemed completely unaware of what a Heaven-Defying Opportunity the Myriad Worlds Chat Group they possessed truly was!
He had casually scrolled through the chat history earlier and found that the Saintess of the Jade Pool, Yan Ruyu, An Miaoyi, and even the Witch had been in the group for as little as one month and as long as three, yet not a single person had deeply researched the Chat Group's functions beyond communication!
For example, the crucial [Points Mall]! Inside, one could clearly use points to exchange for various powerful Physiques, rare Heaven And Earth Treasures, and even ancient Bloodline Legacies! And points could be obtained entirely through completing group tasks or selling Cultivation Techniques and Materials from their own worlds to the mall.
But what about them? Each one either treated the group as a common messaging tool, or like Little Moon, had so many points they didn't know how to spend them and just kept saving them, never thinking of using them to improve themselves!
“As expected of a group of ‘ancients,’ begging for food while sitting on a gold mine,” Chu Feng complained helplessly in his heart. But he couldn't blame them; their way of thinking was different, and they needed someone to “guide” them.
And the simple and easy-to-fool (scratch that)... innocent and lovely Little Moon in front of him was undoubtedly the best Breakthrough point and “development” subject.
Thinking of this, the smile on Chu Feng's face became even more “kind.” He looked at the dejected Little Moon, extended his right pinky finger to her, and said in a tempting tone:
“Then let's pinky swear! As long as I help you surpass your brother and let you pin him to the ground... ahem, I mean, let you have the freedom to no longer be forced to Cultivate by him, then from now on, I will stay here legitimately, and you aren't allowed to go back on your word. How about it?”
Ji Ziyue looked at Chu Feng's long, clean pinky, then looked up at the seemingly serious yet slightly mischievous smile on his face. She felt like a kitten was scratching at her heart.
Surpassing her brother? No need to Cultivate? This temptation was too great! Although she felt this guy was likely still bragging, what if... what if it was true? Anyway, a pinky swear wouldn't cost her anything!
Curiosity and the desire for freedom finally won out. She hesitated for a moment, then also extended her slender, fair pinky and carefully hooked it with Chu Feng's finger.
“Pinky swear, hanging by a thread, no changes for a hundred years!” Chu Feng recited the ancient contract words with a smile, gently shaking their hooked fingers.
“Who... who wants to be with you for a hundred years!” Little Moon's face turned red, and she tried to pull her hand back, but Chu Feng held it gently.
“The contract is established!” Chu Feng looked at her, his eyes flashing with the light of confidence. “Little Moon, get ready to welcome a brand-new self who can make your brother howl in pain!”
Looking at Chu Feng's certain gaze, Ji Ziyue's heart inexplicably skipped a beat.
This guy who seemed very unreliable... could he really... have some special ability?
