855: Demon City

Yao Delong stood atop the pass. The sight before him was enough to cause any newcomer's mind to reel and Soul to tremble!

He saw the vast, boundless land extending infinitely toward the horizon, its scope and majesty far exceeding the limits of Human Race imagination. Here, there was none of the clamor of Mortal cities, nor the smoke and fire of intersecting fields, but instead a magnificent vitality and raw, wild beauty—like the world at the dawn of Chaos, where all things strive to flourish!

Heaven-supporting giant trees were everywhere, far surpassing the height of those in the Demon Transformation Mountain Range. Their canopies blotted out the sky, like green divine pillars holding up the firmament, their trunks so massive they resembled small mountains! Ancient vines, glowing with Spiritual light like giant pythons, wrapped around them, emitting dense Wood-elemental Spiritual Qi.

Five-colored, vibrant clouds flowed across the sky. They were not ordinary clouds, but a mixture of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, so dense it had materialized, blended with the Essence of Flora, refracting a dreamy halo under the sunlight. Beneath the rosy glow, floating mountains could vaguely be seen moving slowly, with Spiritual springs and flying waterfalls cascading down their slopes like silver Dragons.

Roaring, surging great rivers wound across the verdant land like giant Dragons. The river water was not clear, but displayed strange colors—azure, pale purple, or crimson gold—and exuded dense Water Spiritual Qi and a faint coercive pressure. Above the rivers, massive, ferocious-looking beasts could occasionally be seen stirring up monstrous waves.

The land was not flat; it was covered in gigantic, bottomless fissures that steamed with colored mist, like wounds upon the earth, emitting pure yet violent Earth Vein Primal Power. Furthermore, there were mountain ranges stretching for ten thousand miles, burning with various Demonic Fires that never extinguished, their heat waves warping space.

Countless oddly shaped, powerful Yao Beasts either strolled leisurely, chased and fought, or roared towards the sky amidst the jungle, mountain peaks, rivers, and clouds! There were Giant Tigers born with dual wings, their bodies flashing with lightning; Giant Turtles the size of mountains, carrying ancient forests on their backs; Flood Dragons with crimson Scales playing in the magma; and even flocks of Ferocious Birds that blotted out the sun... The air was thick with the rich, unique scent of the Primordial Era, a mixture of herbal fragrance, earthy aroma, fire and sulfur, and blood.

Here, there were no magnificent palaces or towers, but huge Nests and cavernous Temples built naturally against the mountainsides; there were no bustling streets filled with traffic, but mysterious paths paved with glowing, strange moss winding deep into the ancient forests; there was no sound of reading, but roars and resonances containing the ultimate truth of the cosmos, emanating from the depths of ancient Bloodlines!

Primitive, wild, magnificent, mysterious!

This was the Demon Domain! A cradle of life and a Savage Pure Land, vastly different from Human Race civilization, yet equally vast and equally capable of nurturing endless miracles and power!

Stepping onto the fertile and ancient land of the Demon Domain, the intoxicatingly dense Spiritual Qi intertwined with wild Demonic Power rushed towards him. Yao Delong's mind sharpened slightly, and a glint flashed in his eyes.

‘This is the Yao Race's home ground after all; I must not be careless.’ His thoughts raced. The taiyu flowing light wings on his back, capable of tearing space, silently vanished. In this Savage Pure Land, where the Laws were different and strength was paramount, overly conspicuous spatial fluctuations would be like a torch in the dark, extremely likely to attract the hostility of ancient beings with acute senses and strong territorial instincts! The Yao Race revered the Physical Body and innate Divine Abilities, and Magic Treasures were already rare. If he, a “Demon King,” suddenly appeared wielding a Heaven-Defying Dao Artifact that clearly contained spatial Laws... failure to explain himself would mean disaster!

Yao Delong focused his mind and circulated the Thousand Mechanisms Formless Art to its limit. The unique Demonic Qi, derived from his high-grade Bloodline—domineering, noble, and superior to all demons—was expertly controlled, maintaining the necessary prestige of a “Ninth-Tier Demon King” without being overly ostentatious. With a movement of his body, he transformed into a silent, faint silver streak of light that blended into the environment, skimming low over the vast, ocean-like Primordial Jungle below, which exuded rich vitality.

Divine Thought spread cautiously in all directions like an invisible tide.

The scenery relayed back made him frown slightly.

On the edge of the Demon Domain, although the Spiritual Qi was abundant, the level of life was genuinely low. Most of what his Divine Thought covered were low-tier Yao Beasts with muddled intelligence, hunting purely by instinct. There were Single-horned Savage Bulls charging through the forest, Green-eyed Demon Apes traversing the canopies, and Scale-armored Crocodile Demons lurking in the swamps... These Yao Beasts hadn't even developed sentience, let alone known the distribution of powers across the vast Demon Domain.

“It seems I need to find a decent ‘town,’” Yao Delong mused internally, sharply increasing his speed and rushing toward the direction where the Demonic Qi was relatively denser.

At his current speed, a distance of ten thousand miles was no more than the time it takes to steep a cup of tea.

The scene ahead suddenly opened up!

Within a massive basin surrounded by towering ancient trees, a settlement appeared, its style completely different from that of the Human Race!

There were no towering city walls; instead, there were natural barriers formed by layers of thick, thorny vines and strange, faintly glowing rocks. The architecture within the city was even more unique: tree houses carved out of gigantic ancient trees, Immortal Caves modified from natural rock caverns, and grand Halls built from massive Animal Bones and tough vines. The streets were not paved with flagstones, but pieced together from soft moss that emitted an herbal fragrance and large, polished Animal Bones.

Yao Delong's figure flickered, and he quietly landed within this strange Yao Race city.

The streets were bustling. Most of the “pedestrians” walking there had not fully transformed! Some had ferocious Beast Heads, some dragged thick tails, and others were covered in heavy Scales or fur... They either used Divine Abilities to shrink their size or simply maintained their massive true forms, “strolling” down the wide streets. The air was permeated with a strong smell of beasts, herbs, and the scent of various Spirit Medicine and Ore.

The moment Yao Delong's figure stepped onto the street—

Buzz!

An invisible yet perfectly clear pressure of a superior being instantly spread out, like ice dropped into boiling water!

The noisy street immediately fell silent!

All the Yao Race members who sensed this aura instantly froze in their movements, regardless of whether they were arguing, trading, or playing! The low-tier Yao Race members who had not fully transformed felt as if they had been struck by an invisible heavy hammer, their legs turning soft and their bodies trembling violently! Instincts deep within their Bloodlines screamed warnings, filling them with reverence and fear originating from the Soul toward that silver-veined, humanoid figure!

Swish!

The previously crowded street was split open around Yao Delong as if by an invisible blade! All the Yao Race members fearfully lowered their heads, staring fixedly at the ground, trembling as they backed away to the sides, forcing a wide passage open! Not a single demon dared to look up directly at this suddenly arrived “Demon King” Lord! The entire city was left with only heavy breathing and an oppressive, extreme silence!

Yao Delong's expression was calm; he was long accustomed to this level of reverence. He paid no heed to these low-tier Yao Race members, his Divine Thought having already locked onto the most magnificent structure in the city center: the Commander's Mansion, constructed from massive Obsidian and stark white Animal Bones.
