435: Let's go! Off to Daqian again!
Second Huan's words were very explicit.
Fortunately, no one else heard them.
Shen Jinhuan's Face was flushed bright red.
Jiang Ning felt Shen Jinhuan's hand starting to heat up. He looked up at her.
"Huanhuan? What's wrong? Why did your body temperature suddenly spike?"
"Revered Master."
Shen Jinhuan pursed her lips and crouched down halfway. "Feel my forehead; I think I have a fever."
"That shouldn't be possible. Let me check."
Jiang Ning raised his hand.
How could a Cultivator get a fever? It was likely a mishap in her cultivation.
Shen Jinhuan leaned in even closer.
From the corner of his eye, Jiang Ning could see the beautiful scenery within her collar.
His Face instantly turned red.
His ears felt burning hot too.
He quickly touched Shen Jinhuan's forehead.
Jiang Ning said, "It's nothing serious. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere else, let me know."
Shen Jinhuan noticed Jiang Ning's embarrassment.
Feigning confusion, she asked, "Revered Master, why are your ears red? Do you have a fever too?"
Jiang Ning walked away rapidly.
"No, no."
Jiang Ning took a deep breath.
He was probably just hungry.
How was it that after just one glance, the image in his mind was like a ghosted reflection, spinning around and around... until they reached the inn.
Jiang Ning checked out of the room.
There was nothing left to do in the Lingxu Domain. It was time to set off for the Great Qian Immortal Dynasty.
To take a space spirit boat from the Lingxu Domain, they needed to go to a major transit point, after which they could go directly to the capital of the Great Qian Immortal Dynasty.
"Revered Master, Revered Master, can Little Grey and I come out once we're on the spirit boat?"
Little White's biggest worry was being unable to come out during the long journey. If that happened, she and Little Grey would get bored playing in the Small World.
The Small World wasn't very large, and it was a 'square' territory.
When one reached the edge, there was only an endless expanse of blue.
This was the world barrier's self-concealment.
Though it looked 'endless,' if one touched it, they could feel a cold, hard barrier.
Jiang Ning nodded. "Many Cultivators have their own spirit pets or mounts. Commercial space spirit boats allow Spirit Beasts on board; you just need to purchase the credentials."
..."This is the credential?!"
The combination of a fox riding a wolf was quite eye-catching in the Lingxu Domain.
Jiang Ning had also disguised Little White.
To outsiders, Little White looked like an ordinary Snow Fox.
As for Little Grey, no one cared about a Rank Two Spirit Beast.
When they reached the 'ferry' to buy the credentials, Little White was displeased to see the small cage meant for her.
Most Spirit Beasts whose owners were willing to pay for them to board a spirit boat were powerful and hard to part with.
And powerful Spirit Beasts could control their own size; even if they couldn't, a Cultivator could help them.
Thus, the place for storing Spirit Beasts was a large room below the deck, filled with many small cages.
These cages were made by Artifact Refiners and could suppress a Spirit Beast's Spiritual Qi. Once locked inside, unless the Spirit Beast was exceptionally powerful, they were basically no different from ordinary pets.
Cages were stacked upon cages.
At a glance, they were packed densely, just like those shady pet shops.
The Spirit Beasts had no comfortable space at all.
Many Cultivators loved their Spirit Beasts, but unfortunately, they had no other choice if they wanted to take a space spirit boat, so they were forced to comply.
Little White looked at the space shown in the Recording Stone and immediately lost interest in riding the space spirit boat.
She thought the Small World was much more comfortable.
Little White sent a Divine Sense transmission: "Revered Master, let's not. Little Grey and I will just play in the Small World. Being in this cage would be a fate worse than death."
Jiang Ning nodded.
He didn't think much of this place either.
Others had no choice, but since they had the means, why should Little White and Little Grey suffer?
The Cultivator handling the tickets was still incessantly pitching the service.
"Fellow Daoist, don't look at how small these cages are or how many there are in a room; our cages are specially made to ensure your Spirit Beast can't escape once inside.
And the Spirit Beasts won't fight with each other either."
Jiang Ning waved his hand. "No need."
The salesman's Face instantly soured.
"Well, let me make this clear: on our spirit boat, Spirit Beasts are not allowed to run around outside. If you're caught, you'll have to pay a fine."
Jiang Ning sneered. This man was backed by the Baoxu Merchant Guild, but did he really think he was the owner?
"No need. Give me a grade a room."
The man's Face changed again. He stood up and bowed, explaining to the child-like Jiang Ning.
"Look at me, I truly failed to recognize a person of high status. A grade a room can accommodate one to three Cultivators. You and your Dao Companion can just open this one room!"
Jiang Ning frowned. This man really had no eye for things.
He clearly looked like Shen Jinhuan's... dammit, he clearly looked like Shen Jinhuan's younger brother or nephew.
Jiang Ning really couldn't stand his current state anymore!
As a Revered Master, he had no Face at all!
Shen Jinhuan was chuckling.
This attendant's words weren't all that annoying.
That last sentence was actually quite pleasant to hear.
Knowing he had offended an esteemed guest, the attendant said, "Fellow Daoist, since you're getting a grade a room, how about this: I'll give you free Spirit Beast shipping."
As he spoke, he pulled out a pair of jade tokens.
Jiang Ning waved his hand.
"No need."
Taking the jade token for the grade a room first, Jiang Ning used the time while the spirit boat was waiting to depart to lead Shen Jinhuan and the others to a secluded corner.
Since they weren't using the shipping service, they had to find a hidden spot to put Little White and the others into the Small World.
They boarded the spirit boat.
Jiang Ning pushed open the door to the grade a room.
The room wasn't large, but it was a suite with separate inner and outer rooms.
The inner room had a bed, a wardrobe, and such, while the outer room had a tea table, a desk, and chairs.
It had everything it needed.
For a space spirit boat, having such facilities was quite good.
After the Grade A guests boarded, it was Grade B, then Grade C, and finally the Grade D rooms below the deck, which were like 12-person student dormitories.
Everything had its hierarchy.
He closed the door.
Jiang Ning tapped the Formation hub on the door.
The door locked, and the entire room was enveloped by a Formation.
"This Formation can block sound and Divine Sense probes. Even if the window is open, those inside can see out, but those outside can't see in."
He released Little White and Little Grey from the Small World.
Little White shrank to the size of a cat, and then Little Grey was shrunk to a similar size.
The white and grey pair jumped onto the desk by the window and looked outside.
Little White stared with her deep blue eyes.
"Revered Master, this spirit boat is so, so big! It's much bigger than Senior Vermilion Bird's spirit boat."
"Yes, but it's not as fast as Senior Vermilion Bird's boat. Its size limits it, after all."
Jiang Ning walked forward and found that his height barely cleared the desk.
He made himself hover and stroked Little White's fuzzy head.
Shen Jinhuan leaned over and pulled Jiang Ning directly into her arms.
"Revered Master, if you want to see outside, you can just tell me. I'm tall; I can help you."
She was about 1.7 meters tall with long legs, making her much taller than Jiang Ning's current form.
Jiang Ning: ...
