56: Let's talk about Gongzi Yu

After "Taming the Holy Maiden" concluded, I really wanted to write my own original work, because at the end of the last book, I explicitly stated that I would open up my own Universe, a story unique to me.

Therefore, this time, I plan to let readers observe another character who is already fully developed, so that when reading, they are not fully immersed but rather appreciate the protagonist as they learn about the story.

Shaping a single character from beginning to end is undoubtedly much easier than shaping an entire protagonist team, as I did in the last book. However, after Taming the Holy Maiden concluded, I had already spent a great deal of mental effort perfecting my original work and lacked the brainpower to individually create a new character image for the readers.

Therefore, Gongzi Yu is a character I directly adopted—one who is completely developed and fully mature.

Why choose Gongzi Yu and not other characters? For instance, bringing over well-known figures from web novels like the Flame Emperor, Wang Lin, or the Desolate Heavenly Emperor to abuse the Douluo Natives. I will explain the Douluo series in detail.

No matter how the original author continues the series, the core figure or protagonist will always be Tang San, the Tang Buddha. Who is he? The God King of the Divine Realm? Tang Ritian's son? Huo Gua's vicious father-in-law, or Wu Lin's father?

Returning to the starting point, he was an Outer Sect Disciple of the Tang Sect, a member of the Tang Sect. All of his achievements are basically built upon the cheats brought over from his previous life, such as the Tang Sect Cultivation Technique. As for his reputation, opinions vary.

If a single Tang Sect Unique Skill is that powerful, what about others? What about other unique skills from the Martial Forest?

Therefore, pitting those protagonists, secondary characters, or even villains from completely different dimensions against a member of the ancient Ba-Shu Tang Sect, or his Successor Protagonist, is somewhat inappropriate.

Because they are not on the same dimension and their systems are different, there isn't much to write about. Thus, choosing a protagonist who is an Ancient Person originally from the same era as Tang San offers more writing options.

Leaving aside the existence or records of the Tang Sect for now, among the books that previously focused on depicting the Tang Sect's existence, those written by Elder Gu Long are undoubtedly the foremost.

Li Xunhuan, Shen Lang, Fu Hongxue? These famous protagonists created by Gu Long could certainly generate exciting moments upon arriving in the Douluo World. However, when facing Tang San or his Successor, they would feel somewhat constrained, and furthermore, these individuals don't harbor much malice toward the Tang Sect themselves.

Therefore, the protagonist needed to be a fully developed character who disdains the Tang Sect and is impeccable. The Gu Long Righteous Character, who often possess a bit of a Bleeding Heart, are not suited for this role.

Thus, I focused my attention on That Man.

The Peak Creator of the Azure Dragon Society, Gongzi Yu, Shen Guyan.

He is a character from Tian Ya Ming Yue Dao, even a Major Villain, an invincible existence who never lost to the protagonist. Don't be misled by the TV dramas; Fu Hongxue is simply no match for Gongzi Yu, and Yan Nanfei is merely Gongzi Yu's toy.

The reason for choosing Tian Ya Ming Yue Dao is also because the game contains many Moves that can be referenced, such as Tai Bai, Divine Might, and Flower Shifting. It's essentially the author being lazy.

Since the character has been decided, I must reproduce his personality, Martial Arts, and Philosophy of Life as closely as possible.

His cheat, naturally, is his unparalleled Martial Arts Attainment. Even across different eras, Mysterious Heaven Skill doesn't even qualify to compare.

As for why the timeline is set in douluo dalu 3, I pondered for a long time. Douluo Dalu 1 is too difficult to fill plot holes and has been overused, and writing another Douluo Dalu 2 would be boring. Therefore, the best starting point is douluo dalu 3 or douluo dalu 4. The era of douluo dalu 4 is too sci-fi, and Gongzi Yu might not adapt, so I had to settle on douluo dalu 3.

I know the first thing that is easily criticized in the opening is the era. Gongzi Yu is a Senior to Tang San, yet after Transmigration, he arrives during the period after Tang San achieved fame. That's why I had him linger on the Yellow Springs Road for a while, until the Lord of the Plane, who was Possessed by Tang Ritian, tracked him down by following the River of Time that Tang San Transmigrated through. For those who find this hard to accept, you can understand it as different Universes having different rates of time flow.

Next is the name issue that affects the early reading experience. As mentioned before, his sisters are Shen Yue and Shen Xing. He couldn't possibly be named Shen Guyan or Shen Yu, could he? Considering the douluo dalu 3 era's human technology and aspiration toward the vast starry sky, I temporarily gave him the name Shen Yu in the Early Stage. Otherwise, I would have had to make him an orphan or from a collateral line, which wouldn't fit Gongzi Yu's persona as a Highborn Noble.

I couldn't just give him a temporary name, completely disregard his background, and write whatever I wanted. If I had used his original name from his previous life, wouldn't I be labeled as unrealistic again? In that case, I might as well name him Shenhua (Myth), making the sibling trio Star, Moon, and Myth even more entertaining.

The Shen Family is indeed the most suitable Major Family for Shen Guyan's Reincarnation. Firstly, it accommodates his character design of noble birth, and secondly, the original work provided no description of the Shen Family's Legacy Spirit, allowing for ample original design.

Another widely discussed issue is Hiding One's Talent upon Awakening. Who is Gongzi Yu? The Azure Dragon Society Leader. How many Assassination Attempts did he face in his previous life? Who can imagine the level of caution such a person would possess? Calling him a Cautious Hero wouldn't be an exaggeration. Would such a person enjoy constantly revealing his Trump Cards? Especially when he is in an unfamiliar era and an unfamiliar Family, would he be foolish enough to clearly display his Talent?

Wow, I am the Direct Descendant Grandson of the Shen Family, and I have twin spirits and Innate Full Soul Power! Hurry up and send someone to kill me!

You must know that in the original text, the Five Major Factions of the Federal Military supported the Dove Faction and the Eagle Faction, respectively, and the Shen Family was the only Dove Faction. I copied the description of the Shen Family's stance word for word. Is writing not supposed to consider the actual situation, rather than just writing for simple gratification?

As for the Shen Family's protection and so on, among those dozen or so Limit Douluo in the original text, was even one from the Shen Family? How many were there from the Qian Gu Family supporting the Eagle Faction? Therefore, one cannot take things for granted when writing a book.

Readers feel satisfied seeing a protagonist with Innate Full Soul Power being praised, but Gongzi Yu would become an Idiot under the author's pen.

If I intentionally write a plot similar to Re:Zero later on, the Spirit Pagoda or the Qian Gu Family will show you how many ways an Outstanding Descendant from a Dove Faction military Family, one who is friendly with Shi Tang and loves to show off his Talent, can die when played with by the Three Limit Douluo: Qiangu Dieting, Qiangu Dongfeng, and Qiangu Qingfeng!

The Spirit Pagoda even dared to cooperate with the Holy Spirit Cult to bomb Shi Tang. Do you really think the Spirit Pagoda wouldn't dare touch the Shen Family, which doesn't even have a single Limit Douluo?

Readers, standing from a God's Perspective, might think that Innate Full Soul Power is common in douluo dalu 3. Let me summarize it in one sentence: Is the Innate Full Soul Power of an Ordinary Family the same as the Innate Full Soul Power of a Direct Descendant of a Major Family, in terms of balancing the Federal Military? You can easily win over or eliminate the former, but what about the latter?

I have already given the protagonist Innate Full Soul Power; there's no need to show it off and court death.

Therefore, the Level Nine that the protagonist openly displays is completely sufficient. It won't attract too much attention, nor will it prevent him from receiving the Family's Resource Allocation.

The above is what I felt compelled to write after reaching Chapter 50-something. I said long ago that whatever protagonist I write, the plot will align with that protagonist's personality and way of doing things. To fully immerse oneself in the protagonist and complain on behalf of his Philosophy of Life is, in itself, disrespectful to the character created by Elder Gu Long.

I hope that readers will focus more on appreciating and understanding this character's actions in an Unfamiliar World, and I believe everyone will see a Douluo era unique to Gongzi Yu.
