122: Be true to each other

The sea of stars was boundless, with brilliant flowing light interwoven into an eternal scroll.

A sharp sword light tore through the starry sky, approaching from afar, finally coming to a halt at the edge of the Myriad Laws Star Realm.

The sword light dissipated, revealing two figures.

The man on the left wore a dark gold python robe, his brow carrying the dust and fatigue of travel; it was Xuanyuan Che.

The white-clad swordsman on the right held a long sword, his aura solitary and cold; it was Ye Gucheng.

"We've finally arrived." Xuanyuan Che let out a long breath, his chest rising and falling slightly.

He turned and solemnly cupped his fists toward Ye Gucheng: "I'm grateful for Director Ye's protection along the way; otherwise, on my own, I'm afraid I wouldn't have reached here even in three years."

Three months ago, the two had set out from the Five Evolutions True Realm, crossing countless dangerous Star Domains.

On the way, they encountered three star-space storms and seven attacks from giant beasts. The most dangerous time was when a Star-Swallowing Beast almost swallowed them in one gulp.

Had Ye Gucheng not comprehended Void Sword Intent at the critical moment of life and death and severed the beast's throat with a single sword strike, they would have long since turned to dust.

Of course, life-and-death struggles also brought opportunities.

Xuanyuan Che had made a Breakthrough from the Peak of True Immortal to the Early Stage Profound Immortal, and the imperial aura around him became even more condensed.

Ye Gucheng had found a sword Dao treasure, the Void Sword Crystal, in a void rift, using it to step from the Peak of Earth Immortal into the threshold of Heavenly Immortal, his Sword Qi becoming increasingly biting and oppressive.

"His Majesty's decree; it's within my duty." Ye Gucheng's voice was cold as his gaze turned toward the vast nebula in the distance: "Today is the day the God Race Young Lord marries Princess Long Kui; I hope we have not arrived late."

Xuanyuan Che's heart tightened.

His big brother had entrusted this matter to him; if he couldn't even handle this, what face would he have to go back and see his big brother?

"Director Ye, for the final stretch of the journey, please assist me once more."

Ye Gucheng nodded slightly, and a pale silver sword light emerged out of thin air, enveloping the two and turning into a shooting star that streaked toward the rotating nebula.

The Myriad Laws Star Realm was not a sphere, but a slowly rotating nebula-like structure.

Countless bands of light flowed and intertwined within it, each band condensed from the light and shadows of ten million miniature worlds.

Some were bright, some were dark, some were being born and some were dying.

The shooting star the two had become was like dust.

No, even smaller than dust.

They were two specks of light cast toward the Myriad Laws Star Realm, almost negligible.

In the blink of an eye, the shooting star they had become disappeared into the depths of the nebula... Myriad Laws Star Realm, the Ancestral Land of the Demon Clan.

Beneath the Eternal Verdant Mountain Range, auspicious light and auspicious Qi enveloped a continuous stretch of palaces.

In the innermost courtyard, the branches and leaves of the Dragon Scale Wood swayed gently in the breeze.

Princess Long Kui sat before the dressing mirror, letting the maidservants arrange her extremely magnificent wedding dress.

The red dress was like fire, with a Phoenix embroidered in gold thread circling from the hem to the shoulder. Every feather was inlaid with tiny star gems that shimmered like living things as she moved.

"That dead Su Mei, that stinky Su Mei, she promised to stay with me for three days before my wedding." Long Kui grumbled lightly at the mirror, her fingertips unconsciously stroking the gems on her sleeve: "Now she's nowhere to be seen, and she doesn't even reply to messages. I don't know where she's gone off to play crazy again."

The mirror reflected a world-toppling countenance, with brows like distant mountains and eyes containing autumn waters.

Only now, a hint of irritation was hidden in the corners of her eyes and brows.

"Princess, the time is almost here."

Her personal maidservant reminded her softly, carefully inserting the last Phoenix hairpin into Long Kui's hair.

Long Kui took a deep breath, suppressed the inexplicable unease in her heart, and slowly stood up.

The floor-sweeping hem brushed across the smooth ground, making a soft rustling sound.

She passed through the corridor with carved beams and painted rafters, arriving at the main hall of the Ancestral Land of the Demon Clan.

In the hall were her parents.

The current Yao Emperor, Long Yin, and the Demon Empress, Long Qinger, had already been waiting for a long time.

Long Yin's figure was towering, wearing a dark gold dragon robe; just standing still caused the surrounding space to distort slightly.

Long Qinger was elegant and poised, but her eyes were slightly red at the moment, clearly having cried.

Behind them, the core Elders and disciples were all present.

The core disciples looked at Long Kui with eyes full of reluctance and love.

They had once pursued Long Kui, but unfortunately, the God Race Young Lord had ultimately beaten them to it.

For a moment, a sense of unwillingness welled up in the hearts of these Yao Race disciples who admired Long Kui.

"Kuier." Long Qinger stepped forward quickly, tightly grasping her daughter's hand. A thousand words were stuck in her throat, finally turning into just one sentence: "Once you're at the God Race's side, take good care of yourself."

Long Kui's nose felt sour, and she nodded vigorously.

Long Yin's gaze fell on his daughter, and he took a step forward, his voice steady: "Kuier, you and Shen Yao are in love with each other; I am very comforted."

After a pause, his tone became solemn: "However, the word 'love' is prone to ripples."

"Being happy today might not be enough to withstand the wear and tear of the world's affairs."

"You must understand that so-called love is a choice."

"It is the will to still choose to remain steadfast when facing temptations and difficulties in the endless flow of time."

"Unwavering loyalty is not a shackle, but freedom."

"It is identifying one person and never leaving nor abandoning them, even after seeing all the faces of love."

Long Qinger wept silently on the side, nodding gently.

Long Yin raised his hand and gently patted her shoulder:

"That child Shen Yao is proud and arrogant, but his nature is not bad."

"Since you are fond of him, you must use wisdom and true feelings to protect this original intention."

"Do not let trivialities wear away deep affection, nor let external forces shake the foundation."

He gazed into his daughter's eyes: "With this departure, you are not only the Yao Race princess but also Shen Yao's wife."

"I hope you always remember my words: be loyal to your choice, and be loyal to each other's affection."

Tears welled up in Long Kui's eyes as she performed a solemn salute: "I will keep your teachings in mind, Father. I will certainly not fail your expectations, nor will I fail Shen Yao."

Long Yin nodded: "Go, do not keep Shen Yao waiting for long."

After saying that, the group walked toward the outside of the ancestral land.

Outside the ancestral land, on the ten-thousand-foot long road paved with auspicious clouds, a phoenix carriage pulled by nine divine phoenixes shone brilliantly.

Celestial music was ethereal, and petals fell like rain.

Beside the carriage, the God Race Young Lord Shen Yao had already been waiting here for a long time.

Today, he wore gold and white Divine Armor, with sun, moon, and stars carved on the shoulder plates, and a Divine Jade hanging from his waist, looking extraordinarily heroic.

Seeing Long Kui appear, his eyes immediately burst with unabashed admiration and joy.

His gaze shifted, sweeping over Long Yin and Long Qinger. Shen Yao immediately stepped forward and bowed in a standard grand salute, maintaining a very humble posture.

"Your son-in-law, Shen Yao, greets my father-in-law and mother-in-law." His voice was clear and bright, carrying the sincerity of a young man: "Please rest assured, Elders. I, Shen Yao, swear in the name of the God Race and by my own Dao Heart, that in this life, I will certainly give my all to love and care for Kuier, respecting her, valuing her, and protecting her, never letting her suffer the slightest grievance."

Seeing his sincerity, Long Qinger's expression softened slightly.

Long Yin took a deep look at Shen Yao, his gaze complex and hard to decipher. In the end, he just nodded and raised his hand to help him up: "I hope you remember your words today. Go."

"Rest assured, Father-in-law." Shen Yao bowed respectfully again.

With the support of her maidservants, Long Kui gave one last graceful bow to her parents, then turned and stepped into that brilliantly flowing phoenix carriage.

The bead curtain fell, hiding her peerless face.

"Depart!"

The master of ceremonies chanted loudly, and the nine phoenixes cried out in unison, pulling the magnificent carriage as it slowly rose into the air.

With a thousand streaks of auspicious Qi and ten thousand rays of glowing light, the entire wedding procession grandly set off toward the God Race's direction.

Long Yin and Long Qinger stood at the entrance of the valley, watching as the flowing light drifted further and further away.
