410: Qiong Lao

As the saying goes:

One who reads “Chu Shi Biao” and sheds no tears is disloyal; one who reads “Chen Qing Biao” and sheds no tears is unfilial; one who reads the "virtue language" and sheds no tears is without virtue.

On Yang Kun's desk lay a complete set of the "virtue language".

To join the Holy Mother Sect and become a Holy Chosen, he had almost worn out and memorized that entire set of books.

The frustrating thing was that he always failed at the first hurdle.

Soon after, his mother called Yang Kun to eat.

After finishing dinner, he returned to his room, completed all his holiday homework, and then collapsed onto his bed, falling into a deep sleep.

In his dream, he seemed to arrive in a hazy world.

The surrounding buildings were very peculiar, like an undeveloped ancient era.

Their architectural style was very similar to some of the scenic ruins Yang Kun knew.

Then his gaze seemed to penetrate everything, constantly moving forward, until it stopped at the tallest and largest building among them.

There, Yang Kun saw a figure, a figure that was both divine and demonic.

The moment he saw the figure's face, *crack*... the entire scene shattered like glass.

Yang Kun, in his sleep, fell into a coma, and when he opened his eyes again in his consciousness, everything was completely different.

This time, he found himself by a lake.

Around the lake was a pavilion, and a figure sat inside the pavilion.

Yang Kun looked at him and discovered that this figure's appearance was identical to the figure in the shattered scene he had just witnessed.

"You've come."

"I've come."

"You shouldn't have come."

"But I still came."

"..."

"Since you're here, come and sit down first," the man in white smiled, inviting Yang Kun.

Yang Kun also found the things before him very novel. Could this be the transcendental power?

But how did he remember that only those chosen by the Holy Mother Sect could possess transcendental power?

He casually found a spot in the pavilion and sat down opposite the man in white.

"Who are you?"

"Who am I?" Hearing Yang Kun's question, the man in white gave a self-deprecating smile, "Just an unlucky failure, I suppose?"

Yang Kun said, "Then how should I address you?"

The man in white replied, "Just call me Qiong... Old Qiong."

"Old Qiong." Hearing this address, Yang Kun was a little surprised, looking at the other party's youthful face, "You don't look old at all!"

"Haha, it's just an appearance," Old Qiong shook his head, "My true age is probably older than all the people you've ever met combined."

Yang Kun felt that the other party was boasting, but unfortunately, he had no evidence.

"What is your purpose?"

Yang Kun asked directly, getting straight to the point.

"I'm not reconciled!"

Old Qiong spoke, saying he was not reconciled that his two million years of effort had vanished overnight.

It's about the victor and the vanquished; as long as he doesn't die, it's not a loss.

"What does your lack of reconciliation have to do with me?"

With one sentence, Yang Kun hit the nail on the head.

"You have no other choice; unless the two of us join forces, you, all of you, have no other choice!"

Old Qiong looked at Yang Kun with a slightly pitying gaze and said, "Actually, compared to me, you are the truly pitiful ones."

"What do you mean?"

Being stared at with such eyes made Yang Kun feel a little uncomfortable.

"Actually, you are nothing more than a group of livestock, raised in a pigsty."

Old Qiong, without the slightest hesitation, directly revealed the bloody truth of this world.

"Do you think I'd believe you?"

Yang Kun's pupils contracted slightly upon hearing this, but he still retorted with a look of disbelief.

"We have the Holy Mother Sect, protecting us. Who could possibly raise us?"

"What if I told you that the ones raising you are the Holy Mother Sect?"

Old Qiong showed a half-smile.

"Nonsense!"

Hearing Old Qiong say this, Yang Kun immediately shouted loudly.

For hundreds of years, the Holy Mother Sect has maintained social stability and coordinated people's daily lives.

All of this was evident, and there had never been any problems.

"Seeing is believing!"

"Sometimes, seeing for yourself might lead to a different understanding."

Old Qiong did not continue to argue with him but planned to take Yang Kun to see for himself.

And so, the scene shattered, and Yang Kun woke up.

When Yang Kun first woke up, he thought it was all a dream, including the ancient scene, the pavilion by the lake, and the person who spoke to him in the pavilion.

He forgot, however, that normal people forget a lot after waking from a dream, but someone like Yang Kun, who remembered every detail, was clearly not ordinary.

"Let's go, I'll take you to witness it with your own eyes."

At this moment, the voice of the one who called himself Old Qiong suddenly appeared in Yang Kun's mind.

The sudden change before him indicated that what he had just experienced was not a dream, but real.

Now he was going to take him to see, to see what... the so-called truth.

"Wait... what's wrong with my body?"

However, the next moment, Yang Kun was horrified to discover that his body was no longer under his control.

"Kid, there are some things you won't believe unless I take you to see them for yourself."

Yang Kun's body, out of his control, stroked its chin and said earnestly.

"Give me back my body first."

Yang Kun's original consciousness was still struggling for control of his body.

"I'll give it back to you, after you've seen it."

With that, 'Yang Kun' took a step and had already arrived outside the residential complex.

He had managed this world for millions of years; all its laws were perfectly clear to Old Qiong.

He exploited loopholes where they existed and created them where they didn't.

No one understood the Ren Realm better than him!

Here, he could leverage infinitely greater power with very little effort; if he wished, he could even reach his destination's doorstep in a single step.

But for the sake of concealment, Old Qiong did not do so.

The new ruler of this world, for some unknown reason, was extremely sensitive to spatial fluctuations; even the slightest movement could be noticed.

Under the cover of night, Old Qiong used Yang Kun's body to move rapidly.

Pedestrians on the road seemed not to see him; they completely ignored each other as they passed by.

At one point, if Yang Kun hadn't actively dodged, he would have truly collided with someone.

With such speed and impact, being hit would undoubtedly be fatal.

In the blink of an eye, Yang Kun's figure was already standing beside a magnificent and imposing building.

At the same time, in terms of grandeur, this building was second only to the Holy Mother Sect's cathedral in the 33 cities.

It was built in such a way, as if afraid that people wouldn't know it was there.

As for the most majestic and spectacular building in the entire world, it was none other than the Supreme Holy Mother Palace, located at the world's center.

And legend had it that the chosen Holy Chosen would all be brought to live in the Supreme Holy Mother Palace.

If they performed well, they could even bring their families along.

It was truly a case of one person achieving enlightenment, bringing prosperity to their entire lineage, and making their ancestors proud, envied by all!

However, what puzzled Yang Kun was why Old Qiong brought him here.

Their entire family had grown up under the influence of the Holy Mother Sect, so they naturally knew that one could not approach here without permission.

"You... what are you going to do?"

"What am I going to do?" An unusual curve appeared on Yang Kun's face, "Of course, I'm going to show you the truth of the world."

"This place is the first stop for your city's so-called Holy Chosen."
