492: Three Inner Worlds

The figure the Abyss Lord knelt towards was none other than the boundless and benevolent Supreme Holy Mother, Chen De.

His face was kind, radiating a motherly, sacred glow, with a gentle smile on his lips and a warm expression.

It was as if all the curses the Abyss Lord had just hurled at him had never existed.

Chen De was already accustomed to it; as the Supreme Holy Mother, he should possess a broad mind.

He was never, never, never a petty or narrow-minded person!

Chen De extended his right hand, lovingly stroking the Abyss Lord's head.

"Abyss Lord, do you know your mistake?"

The Abyss Lord's face was filled with sorrow and remorse, tears streaming down, "I know my mistake, please punish me."

"Alas, foolish child, foolish child."

Chen De sighed helplessly; as the saying goes, to err is human, to forgive divine.

But he had just called Yuan Chen hypocritical, and wasn't the current Yuan Chen precisely Chen De? This was tantamount to calling Chen De hypocritical.

And who was Chen De? He was the embodiment of the Righteous Path of Heaven and Earth; no, he *was* the Righteous Path of Heaven and Earth.

Thus, to call Chen De hypocritical was equivalent to calling the Righteous Path of Heaven and Earth hypocritical.

For Chen De, and for the Righteous Path of Heaven and Earth, this was an unforgivable blasphemy.

Although Chen De truly wanted to keep the Abyss Lord, he bore the responsibility for the fate of all living beings in the world.

This responsibility told him he could not do so.

Perhaps helplessness is precisely having the ability, yet having to watch the person you are reluctant to part with die.

"Righteous Sect Master of Zhengyuan Sect, I have profoundly recognized my error."

"Please allow me to inflict the ultimate penalty upon myself; otherwise, my conscience will suffer in guilt for the rest of my life."

It seemed he understood what Chen De was troubled by, or perhaps the Abyss Lord had truly achieved great enlightenment.

He raised his head, looked directly at Chen De, and said with a serious expression.

Hearing this, Chen De's expression grew even more bitter, and he waved his hand.

"Then I shall punish you by having you hand over all your resources and those of Star Abyss, and then choose the most agonizing death imaginable to perish!"

With that, Chen De turned away, unable to bear another glance.

"Yes!"

The Abyss Lord, however, looked fanatical, as if he had received some immense and extraordinary grace, and scurried off to prepare.

Chen De merely shook his head with a helpless, bitter smile.

In this world, the most painful thing is perhaps this helplessness of being able to obtain something yet being unable to.

But there was no other way; as the Supreme Holy Mother, he could not harbor personal desires.

He should set an example, starting with himself, starting with small matters.

Only then would the Holy Mother Sect have hope, and all living beings in Heaven and Earth have hope!

...After a while, the Abyss Lord, dragging his broken body, handed everything over to Chen De.

His inner world, which all Immortal Law Realm practitioners considered fundamental, was donated; his life's savings were donated; all the resources of his subordinate forces were donated; his... In short, the Abyss Lord donated everything he could.

Without his inner world, his strength was far from what it once was, only capable of bullying minor characters below the Immortal Realm.

However, if a few Mortal Realm peak cultivators came to provoke him, they would still be instantly obliterated with just a glance.

After all, a starved camel is still bigger than a horse; an Immortal Law Realm cultivator is still an Immortal Law Realm cultivator, something Mortal Realm cultivators, even with their lives on the line, cannot compare to.

Having donated so many things, so many things that were so precious and important to the Abyss Lord.

There was not a trace of regret on his face.

There was only relief, only gratitude, only a heart seeking atonement.

For the Night Lord, the sins he had committed in his life were too numerous and too grave.

The largest proportion of these was having once insulted the great Supreme Holy Mother.

Although Chen De didn't say anything and didn't blame him, instead showing him such tolerance.

The Holy Mother's compassion made his cold heart feel warmth once again.

That feeling of home, that sense of happiness, was something ordinary people could not comprehend.

If possible, he wished to remain immersed in the Holy Mother's radiating glory forever.

But the Night Lord's heart, which had already achieved great enlightenment, could not forgive himself; a person cannot act recklessly just because of another's kindness.

If these things he donated could offset even one-billionth of his sins, he would be content.

As for keeping his life, he dared not hope for it, nor did he wish to have it.

Seeing that the Abyss Lord was determined to leave, Chen De decided not to persuade him further.

Respect was the ultimate premise of human interaction, and Chen De, as the Supreme Holy Mother, respected all the choices others made even more.

He simply clasped his hands together and said, "Supreme Holy Mother!"

The Abyss Lord also followed with a Holy Mother Sect ritual, muttering, "Supreme Holy Mother!"

With that, he spontaneously burst into flames.

Self-immolation!

Yes, the Abyss Lord chose self-immolation.

However, the Abyss Lord, engulfed in black flames, remained expressionless and silent despite such agony.

Indeed, the Abyss Lord not only chose self-immolation but also chose the most agonizing method to do so.

He actively tormented his soul, tormented his consciousness, tormented his entire being.

Chen De seemed to clearly see a soul screaming in agony in the Abyss Lord's eyes.

This was a talent!

To be able to endure such immense pain, what else could he be but a talent?

Watching this, Chen De's heart wept, and he could only once again say, "Supreme Holy Mother!"

And on the other side, the suffering Abyss Lord did not forget to return the gesture, "Supreme Holy Mother!"

Seeing this, Chen De, admiring his perseverance and determination, said again, "Supreme Holy Mother!"

Unexpectedly, the Abyss Lord still had strength, and followed, "Supreme Holy Mother!"

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

...And so, both sides fell into a tug-of-war of constant bowing and returning bows.

"Supreme Holy Mother!"

As Chen De uttered this last time, the Abyss Lord's body had already refined into a purple orb.

An Immortal Law Realm cultivator without an inner world does not mean he is entirely useless.

His physical body, which is an immortal body, his soul, his..., these all contain extremely vast power.

Chen De never expected that for this final donation.

The Abyss Lord would choose this most cruel and painful method to refine himself to death.

And so, Chen De painfully accepted the last goodwill he left behind.

Then he looked at the three inner worlds in his hand, a storage artifact filled with resources, and the purple orb.

These three inner worlds belonged to Shi Li, Hong Yu, and the Abyss Lord, respectively.

After the battle at Qianqiu Palace, Chen De realized that these two guys indeed seemed quite useless.

He then investigated whether they had any means by which the Grand Elder, Chang Qi, would immediately detect their death.

Therefore, Chen De directly acted to transform them into their most useful form.

After all, as a powerhouse of the Holy Mother Sect, contributing to the Supreme Holy Mother is the greatest contribution, and a contribution above all else.

Most importantly, by contributing to the Supreme Holy Mother, they did not die but lived on in a different way.

After all, the Supreme Holy Mother is reluctant to kill and never kills.
