The presidents of Tsinghua and Peking Universities broke down: You call this teaching reform?

Jingdu, Qingbei University.

As a top institution renowned throughout the Great Xia and even the world, every inch of air here seemed saturated with a rigorous academic atmosphere.

However, at this moment, the atmosphere inside the Principal's office on the top floor of the Administrative Building was bizarre in the extreme.

The elderly principal, Zhang Bowen, who was over sixty, was staring intently at the computer screen.

His eyes, magnified by reading glasses, were wide like copper bells, and his brows were furrowed into the shape of the character 'Chuan' ( river).

"Impossible... Absolutely impossible..."

Zhang Bowen muttered, his voice filled with absurdity.

"Was the Ministry of Education hacked?"

"Could such an outrageous document actually be released? Who is so reckless?"

Displayed on the screen was the monumental document that had just been issued, one capable of shaking the entire education sector!

"Notice Regarding the Comprehensive Implementation of 'Basic Body Forging' as a Mandatory Course in All National Ordinary Higher Education Institutions"

In his view, the so-called Basic Body Forging was merely an alternative physical education course.

But if it were only about introducing a mandatory P.E. course, Zhang Bowen wouldn't have lost his composure like this.

After all, strengthening the Physique of university students was an age-old topic, and he could accept that.

What truly made him doubt reality was the outrageously detailed "Credit Weight Adjustment Plan" attached to the document.

The plan was shockingly written in bold red characters:

[One: Effective immediately, all non-core Scientific Research Courses across the entire school are temporarily suspended, and all teaching resources will be allocated toward Body Tempering courses.]

[Two: "Basic Body Forging Art" is designated as a core mandatory course, and its credit weighting is adjusted to—80%!]

[Three: This course offers no make-up exams. Students who fail the final assessment, regardless of their performance in other subjects, will be held back or dismissed!]

[Four: The teaching responsibilities for this course will be fully handled by the National Special Envoy Instructor Team, and the university administration is forbidden from interfering.]

"They're crazy! Absolutely insane!"

Zhang Bowen violently ripped off his glasses and slapped the desk, making the teacup rattle and splashing tea everywhere.

"Eighty percent?! Are they trying to turn Qingbei University into a sports academy?!"

"Are we abandoning Physics? Abandoning Mathematics? Abandoning Literature?"

"This is sheer absurdity! It's utter nonsense!"

"If we proceed like this, how are we supposed to strive for world-class university status?"

"Will other schools produce Nobel laureates while we produce weightlifting champions?"

He couldn't sit still. He grabbed the red telephone on his desk and dialed the direct line of the Minister of Education.

"Beep—beep—"

The moment the call connected, Zhang Bowen could no longer suppress his fury and roared, completely abandoning his usual scholarly amiability.

"Hello! Old Li! It's Zhang Bowen!"

"Has your Ministry of Education System been compromised? Or did some intern send out the wrong document? What is going on with that 'Body Tempering' document?"

"Eighty percent of the credits for a P.E. course? And stopping scientific research projects?"

"You are going to destroy the educational Foundation of Great Xia! I absolutely refuse to implement this document! Unless you fire me!"

However, the voice on the other end of the line was unusually calm, even carrying a hint of unprecedented solemnity and coldness.

"Old Zhang, calm down."

"I'm telling you clearly, the System isn't broken, nor is it infected. The person who sent the document isn't crazy either."

"This is a direct order from the highest decision-making level; it is top-level classified information."

"Before this, even I was kept in the dark for security reasons."

"What?!" Zhang Bowen froze, his blazing anger instantly turning into bone-chilling coldness. "The highest level?! But why... this makes no sense!"

"There is no why!" The voice on the phone cut him off, its tone heavy as a thousand pounds: "This is a National Strategy, a Great Upheaval Unseen in a Thousand Years!"

"Old Zhang, you are an old party member; obeying orders is your sacred duty! At this critical juncture, anyone who messes up is a criminal!"

"You have only one task now: execute it unconditionally! Even if you have to suspend all scientific research projects, you must start this course!"

"Also, I should inform you, the Chief Special Envoy Instructor Team responsible for your Qingbei University 'Basic Body Forging' course is already en route."

"They will arrive in about twenty minutes."

"When you meet them, you will understand everything."

"Beep... beep... beep..."

The phone was hung up.

Zhang Bowen stood frozen, clutching the receiver, his mind a complete mess.

Special Envoy Instructor?

What kind of instructor could warrant such secrecy from the Ministry of Education?

Why didn't they even bother to give an explanation?

Could it be... He suddenly remembered the rumors about "Cultivation" that had been spreading wildly online over the past two days, and a preposterous idea arose in his heart.

"Could it be... that everything they're saying online... is true?"

"Impossible... We are men of science... Is the rule about 'no spirits after the founding of the nation' just an empty statement?"

Zhang Bowen swallowed, forcibly suppressing the storm raging in his heart.

He shook his head, trying to clear these absurd thoughts from his mind.

Regardless, since things had reached this point, he needed to stabilize the situation first.

Otherwise, if those old professors saw this document, they would surely tear the school down.

He took a deep breath and picked up the phone again:

"Notify all department heads and professors currently on campus to immediately come to Conference Room One for a meeting!"

"This is extremely urgent! Tell them, even if they're in the middle of an experiment, they need to drop their test tubes and run over here!"

...Ten minutes later, in Conference Room One at Qingbei University.

The room gathered some of the greatest minds in Great Xia's education sector.

Yet at this moment, these professors, normally elegant and respected, were all red-faced,

slamming the tables so loudly it shook the heavens, as if this were not an academic hall but a noisy marketplace.

"Absurd! Ridiculous! The biggest joke under heaven!"

"Suspend my Quantum Mechanics class just to go practice 'Body Forging'?"

"This is regression! This is blasphemy against science! If Newton knew we were doing this, his coffin lid wouldn't be able to hold him down!"

An old, white-haired Physics professor was shaking with anger, waving the printed document in his hand as if it were a declaration of war from the enemy.

"What 'Body Forging' nonsense? Isn't this just feudal superstition, like the Qigong from decades ago? It's a fraud!"

"Principal! Is this document fake? This is utterly preposterous!"

"In short, I strongly object!"

"I object too!" The Dean of the Chinese Department also stood up, looking heartbroken: "The Dao of Great Learning lies in illuminating illustrious virtue!"

"What will students achieve by foolishly training on the sports field every day?"

"Will we train a bunch of simple-minded brutes with strong limbs? We are cultivating the pillars of the nation, not thugs!"

"If this ridiculous decision is truly going to be implemented, I would rather resign!"

"Right! I'll resign too!"

Facing the enraged crowd, Zhang Bowen sat at the head of the table, his face filled with bitterness.

He himself didn't understand the meaning behind this decision, but the scene couldn't descend into chaos!

"Everyone, please calm down..."

He pressed his hands down lightly, trying to soothe their emotions, his voice slightly dry.

"This document... is real."

"Furthermore, it is the highest directive, and we must execute it. As for the consequences of disobeying... we cannot bear them."

"What?!"

Hearing this, the conference room instantly erupted, like a drop of water hitting hot oil.

"It's actually real?!"

"What is wrong with the country? Are they seriously going to start promoting feudal superstition?"

"So what exactly is this Body Forging thing?!"

"Who cares what it is, the name alone sounds completely unscientific!"

...

Just as the professors were arguing fiercely, with some even threatening to immediately submit a joint letter of appeal to demand an explanation.

RUMBLE—RUMBLE—RUMBLE—!!!

A deep, violent engine roar suddenly came from outside the window.

The sound was like muffled thunder, making the conference room windows hum.

Everyone froze, and the arguing ceased abruptly.

"What's going on? Is it going to rain and thunder?"

Everyone instinctively turned to look out the window.

Upon seeing it, everyone's pupils contracted sharply.

They saw a dark green motorcade roaring down the wide main avenue of Qingbei University.

These were not ordinary sedans, nor were they police cars.

They were heavily modified, heavy Military Troop Carriers!

Black anti-riot armor, massive off-road tires, and terrifying weapon mounting points on the roof.

They resembled a pack of steel beasts, bringing a grim, bloody aura as they forcefully intruded upon the campus.

"SCREEECH—!"

A harsh braking sound rang out.

The motorcade stopped in perfect unison below the Administrative Building, the tires leaving black marks on the pavement and kicking up a cloud of dust.

"This... is the military?!"

Several old professors leaned against the window, pushing up their glasses, their faces filled with shock.

"Are those the instructors they mentioned?"

"But do they need this kind of display just to teach students a P.E. class?"

"Are they here to teach, or to fight a war?"

Zhang Bowen's heart sank as well, before he reacted.

"It must be them."

He took a deep breath, stood up, and scanned the group of stunned and uncertain professors.

"Let's go! Let's go down and see!"

"I want to see exactly what kind of divine beings these so-called 'Special Envoy Instructors' are!"
