52: Chapter 52 The Terrifying Black Mud Mechanism
The next two minutes featured a seamless long-take action sequence worthy of being recorded in the animation history books of Blue Star.
Enkidu danced lightly in mid-air as if weightless, while countless chains (Chains of Heaven) shimmering with dazzling golden light burst forth from the void and the earth!
The chains wove into a death net full of violent aesthetics, instantly piercing those massive demonic beasts and strangling them mid-air!
This incredible fluidity and spatial tension caused an unprecedented explosion of bullet comments in [Chaldea Station]:
"Aaaaaah! Who is this green-haired guy! He's so handsome!"
"Chains of Heaven! My God, this storyboarding and action design completely crush every 3D action movie on Blue Star!"
"A battle of gods! Is this the combat power of the Age of Gods level?!"
However, this god-tier battle was merely an appetizer for the grand narrative of the first episode.
After defeating the tide of demonic beasts, the green-haired youth calling himself Enkidu smiled and reached out to the protagonist's group, leading them across the desolate wilderness.
As the group ascended a towering cliff, the animation's camera pulled back frantically with a breathtaking ultra-wide-angle view!
An incredible, super-grand wall that seemed to split the entire earth in two appeared before the audience's eyes!
It was an absolute bulwark built from countless bricks, stones, earth, and even the carcasses of demonic beasts.
Atop the wall, human soldiers in simple bronze armor stood in dense rows, while on the horizon beyond the wall was an endless, black ocean-like tide of demonic beasts!
"This... what is this?!"
PD stared wide-eyed in front of the screen, even forgetting to breathe.
The animation's narration, filled with endless vicissitudes and tragedy, slowly began:
"A brutal half-year tug-of-war between humans and demonic beasts. This is a Wall of Sighs forged from flesh and blood..."
"Its name is—[Absolute Demonic Beast Front: Babylonia]!"
In the scene, there was no magic, no divine authority.
There were only ordinary human soldiers, roaring as they used their spears to hold back the massive demonic beasts trying to climb the wall.
Blood stained the wall; as the soldiers in the front row fell, those in the back row filled the gaps without hesitation.
Facing the terrifying creatures of the Age of Gods, fragile humans were defending the final dignity of human history at a tragic cost!
This "Humanity's Hymn" that struck the soul made millions of viewers feel their scalps tingle and their eyes turn red:
"Holy crap... this is what real tower defense is!"
"No gods helping, just ordinary people holding the line! The sense of pressure and epic scale is absolutely incredible!"
"Tearing up, so this is the background of the Seventh Singularity? Humanity's final struggle in the Age of Gods!"
And in the final ten seconds of the first episode.
The camera followed a messenger falcon, flying over the towering demonic beast front and the prosperous, orderly ancient city of Uruk, finally landing atop the massive pyramid-shaped temple.
On the throne, Gilgamesh, having shed his golden heavy armor and with bandages wrapped around his body, rested his chin on one hand.
In those blood-red eyes that once held only arrogance, there was now a look of unfathomable majesty and exhaustion.
He looked down at the city below that still thrived amidst the flames of war, a wild, arrogant smirk curling on his lips.
"Humanity's extinction? Don't make me laugh."
"As long as this King still sits here, the walls of Uruk shall never fall!"
Accompanied by the Wise King's overbearing declaration, the title of the first episode slammed onto the center of the screen:
[The Parting of the Age of Gods and Humanity].
The ending theme began to play.
The twenty-four-minute visual shock finally came to an end.
But the bullet comments in [Chaldea Station] were still boiling like crazy!
"I'm fired up! I have goosebumps all over!"
"Gilgamesh?! Is this the same arrogant tyrant who used to call everyone 'mongrel'? This is way too kingly!"
"Is this the Wise King! That look in his eyes as he watches the wall, I'm totally blown away!"
PD sat in front of the screen, his chest heaving.
He grabbed the VR headset on the table and pulled it over his head, his eyes shining with excitement as he howled like a soldier about to head to the front lines:
"Damn it! I can't take it! After watching the anime, my fighting spirit is through the roof!"
"Let's go! Follow me into the game! I'm definitely holding that Absolute Demonic Beast Front today! If I don't chop those demonic beasts into mincemeat, I'll be failing those bleeding human soldiers!"
Accompanied by the flow of brilliant light and shadow.
In PD's VR vision, a desolate desert appeared.
They had just completed the Rayshift; before they could even see the towering Absolute Demonic Beast Front, they were surrounded by swirling sands and hideous demonic beasts.
These demonic beasts were massive, with the bodies of lions and the tails of venomous snakes, roaring as they charged at them.
[Seventh Singularity — Wilderness Encounter]
[Battle Start!]
"Big Dog! Georgios! Old rules, block the path for me!"
Having experienced countless high-difficulty dungeons, PD's maneuvers were now smooth and fluid.
Although the first wave of demonic beasts had startling attack power, they were held firmly in place under Georgios's taunt and the support of the high-ground Healer.
"Everything is going according to plan! These starting mobs in the Seventh Chapter aren't much after all."
PD looked smugly at the mana progress bar, preparing to save up enough cost to deploy his five-star powerhouse.
However, at that moment, the entire tactical map suddenly flashed with a hair-raising crimson light!
The system's highest-level alarm blared frantically in PD's ears:
[Tactical Environment Warning: Divine Pollution detected!]
[New Terrain Mechanism Unlocked: [■■■■'s black mud]!]
"What the heck? black mud?"
PD was stunned for a moment and instinctively looked at the enemy's spawn point.
At the red portal, a thick, dark black mire suddenly gushed out, emitting endless resentment like boiling oil!
This black mud didn't form specific monsters; instead, like a living thing, it began to spread frantically across the tactical grid floor toward the player's defensive line!
Every grid the black mud flowed over was dyed a hopeless pitch black, with lethal dark purple Toxic Miasma even steaming upwards!
"This... is this terrain destruction?!"
Before PD could react, the spreading black mud had already reached the feet of Cu Chulainn and Georgios, who were standing in the front row.
"Sizzle—!"
A sharp, hair-raising sound of intense corrosion rang out.
The max-level Georgios hadn't even been hit by an enemy attack, but the moment his feet touched the black mud, his originally thick health bar evaporated at a terrifying speed, almost invisible to the naked eye, like snow under a scorching sun!
"-3000!"
"-3000!"
Continuous red numbers of terrifying damage flashed frantically above the heads of all Servants standing on the ground grids!
