208: Gong Yuheng
The light dissipated, and a vast space appeared in Lu Ze's eyes.
Regarding what the Dragon demon had just said, Lu Ze only found it strange.
What did it mean by 'I am not you yet'?
Before he could think about it, a slightly surprised male voice came over.
"Yo, after all these years, someone finally came again?"
Lu Ze looked in the direction of the voice, only to see that the originally empty, vast space now had several streets appearing out of thin air.
These streets varied in size, crisscrossing and intertwining, with lush green trees neatly arranged.
Right next to Lu Ze, a street lamp rose from the ground, and a large green trash can was placed beside it.
The trash can was dirty and grimy on top, its lid half-open, and some leftover food was clearly visible inside.
Although there was no smell, just looking at it, one could imagine the odor.
"Little friend, are you interested in coming up for a cup of tea?"
From the two-story villa behind the street lamp, a man in his twenties with short hair poked his head out and called to Lu Ze.
Seeing that Lu Ze had noticed him, the man pointed below the house with a smile, "Just come in from here, I'll make you some tea first."
Lu Ze put away his sword, and the Qi around him also dissipated.
He lifted his foot and walked towards the house.
The main door on the first floor of the building was ajar, and Lu Ze pushed it open a little with slight force.
With a creak, a ray of light also entered the house with Lu Ze's figure.
The first floor of the building was empty, with a very large living room upon entering, and looking further in, there were only a few rooms, their doors also ajar.
Next to the living room, a staircase spiraled up to the second floor.
Lu Ze lifted his foot and walked towards the staircase, ascending it. Looking down at the first floor, he suddenly noticed that the arrangement inside had changed again; what was originally an empty space now had some everyday furniture.
He didn't pay much attention and went directly upstairs to the second floor.
The second floor had no room divisions, resembling a huge reception hall.
Several bookshelves were arranged to one side, containing books of various colors. At a glance, the most striking were some research and explanations about Spiritual Qi.
The man who had spoken to Lu Ze from the second floor was now sitting on the sofa, concentrating on making tea.
Lu Ze didn't wait for him to invite him and directly sat on the sofa opposite him.
Neither of them spoke, and in the surrounding space, only the sounds of tea brewing remained.
When the tea was ready, the man divided the tea into two cups, handing one to Lu Ze and placing one in front of him.
Lu Ze picked it up and took a sip. The aroma was fragrant and refreshing.
"Good tea."
Lu Ze said softly, then finished the tea in the cup.
The man smiled, picked up his own tea, and sniffed it slightly, feeling pleased. He said, "It seems little friend is quite accomplished in this area as well? May I ask what kind of tea little friend usually enjoys?"
Lu Ze put down the teacup and said frankly, "I have no accomplishments. Senior, even if you were to pour me a cup of plain water today, I would say it tastes good."
"Pfft."
The man hadn't expected Lu Ze to answer like that, and the tea he had just sipped into his mouth was completely spat out.
"Cough, cough, cough."
The man pulled out a tissue, wiped away the spat-out water, and looked at Lu Ze again, only to see that the latter's expression was normal, as if what he had just said was nothing out of the ordinary.
"You rascal."
The man smiled and leaned back on the sofa, "No need to call me Senior. My name is Gong Yuheng. Although I look about your age, I was born much earlier than you. How many years earlier? Haha, I can't even remember."
"Gong Yuheng?"
The moment the man revealed his name, Guan Zizai's voice in Lu Ze's mind exclaimed in surprise.
However, very quickly, Guan Zizai realized she shouldn't have spoken at that moment, immediately suppressed her voice, and stopped talking.
Lu Ze kept his gaze on Gong Yuheng, "Senior Gong."
Gong Yuheng didn't correct Lu Ze again, only saying, "Kid, let me ask you, how is the outside world?"
"May I ask what specific aspect Senior Gong is referring to?"
Gong Yuheng opened his mouth but said nothing.
After a while, Gong Yuheng smiled, "Actually, there's nothing much to ask. Although the only thing I'm still concerned about is whether the demons have been completely driven out, seeing you all come in one after another, I already have the answer."
"After all these years, the demons still haven't been completely cleared? According to our plan at the time, this speed is indeed a bit slow, but it should be soon."
Gong Yuheng smiled confidently, with a gleam in his eyes, as if everything he thought about was also within his grasp.
"Senior Gong, it's not that the demons haven't been cleared, but rather, humanity is on the verge of extinction."
Lu Ze's voice suddenly appeared, interrupting Gong Yuheng's smile.
"What did you say?"
Gong Yuheng looked at Lu Ze, frowning slightly, and an invisible pressure immediately descended upon this space.
The streets outside instantly collapsed under this power!
This two-story villa was also affected, flickering and swaying, as if it could not hold on and would collapse at any moment!
Gong Yuheng quickly reacted and withdrew his power.
"Little friend, please elaborate!"
Lu Ze then recounted the events of the entire Human Base's resistance against the demons in recent years, and also explained that, for hundreds of years, the Human Base had been constantly diminishing.
Today's Human Base is no longer the glorious existence of twenty or thirty bases from hundreds of years ago; only a dozen or so remain, with half of their number already fallen.
After listening to Lu Ze's words, Gong Yuheng's expression sank, and his eyes lowered, as if he was contemplating something.
Lu Ze said nothing more, just waited quietly.
"It seems I've been deceived."
After a while, Gong Yuheng finally spoke.
"I was wondering why more and more people have entered Three Thousand Paths in the past decade or so. It turns out that the Human Base has been lost one after another, many powerful humans have perished, and they can only find some cultivation inspiration here with us."
"Thank you, little friend. If you hadn't told me this, I probably wouldn't know how long I would have been deceived."
"Senior, there's no need for thanks. I just don't know who is deceiving Senior?"
Gong Yuheng smiled sarcastically, "Who else could it be? Of course, it's Xiong Hao, the Director of the Demon Subduing Division in Shennong City."
"This kid is also somewhat related to me by blood. I even helped him get the position of Director of the Demon Subduing Division back then. Haha, I didn't expect that he's already becoming dishonest now."
"Little friend, from the moment you stepped into this space, I already sensed your cultivation method. You possess two very powerful forces within you, and these two forces do not conflict."
"One should be Myriad Things Grow. As for the second, I can't discern it. I myself have considerable insight into cultivation methods, but it seems to be of no use to you now. However, I still want to ask you to do something for me."
"As for what benefits I can give you, little friend, just name them. However, it concerns Shennong City, so I wonder, little friend, if you have the courage for it."
