110: Chapter 110 The Hunt Begins
Seeing the words "One Pass" and "Star Demon Cult", a trace of surprise appeared in Su Wu's eyes!
Star Demon Cult!
What a small world!
Su Wu strode to a nearby unmanned mission acceptance terminal.
He entered his identity information, raised his finger, and pressed the mission acceptance button emitting a red glow.
"Beep—Mission accepted successfully. Identity verification passed. Please read the mission briefing carefully."
On the screen, top-secret information about this mission popped up instantly.
[Mission Information: Three days ago, a Domain Lord Level powerhouse from the Human Race military personally took action, destroying the Star Demon Cult's largest stronghold hidden in the 40th Star Sector with thunderous momentum. The remaining core remnants of the Star Demon Cult have been tightly besieged by our military fleet on several abandoned dead stars at the border.]
[Combat Assessment: Among this group of outlaws, the strongest has reached—Star Emperor Realm.]
[Operation Time: The final assault and encirclement is expected to be launched tonight!]
Su Wu also saw through the military's true intention in issuing this mission.
"Heh, old foxes."
Su Wu rubbed his chin: "A Domain Lord powerhouse took out their lair, and the remaining remnants are already trapped in a jar. Forced into a desperate situation, they will surely bite back like cornered dogs."
"The military doesn't want to sacrifice their own troops to deal with these lunatics. That's why they dangled the 'Pass' as such an enticing bait to recruit us outside Martial Artists and mercenaries."
However, Su Wu didn't care; with his current strength comparable to a Star Saint, he didn't need to worry too much.
He very decisively pulled out a black smart tactical bracelet ejected by the terminal and fastened it to his wrist.
Just less than two hours after Su Wu accepted the mission, the tactical bracelet on his wrist emitted a rapid vibration, and a scarlet assembly order popped up.
[Time is up. All hunters, proceed to the 7th military hangar immediately! No waiting for latecomers!]
Night fell.
A violent sandstorm whipped up on the border planet.
Su Wu left Xiao Bai on the star dome.
Although this little guy had reached the Star King Realm, it was still not enough in a battlefield swarming with Star Emperor Level experts; going would just be a hindrance.
Facing the sky-filling yellow sand, Su Wu followed the directions and arrived at a huge open-air military hangar not far from the border center.
Here, it was brightly lit.
A military transport ship, dark gray and covered in heavy Planet Annihilator Cannons, was parked in the gale, emitting a low engine roar.
Su Wu showed his bracelet, walked up the boarding ladder, and stepped into the ship's spacious cabin.
At this moment, about a hundred people had already gathered in the cabin in scattered groups.
These hundred people, men and women of various ages, wore all sorts of strange battle armor or robes.
But no one was whispering to each other; the atmosphere in the entire cabin was suffocatingly oppressive.
These people were all tough characters!
Su Wu glanced over.
Among these hundred people, the weakest was at the Peak Star King Realm!
And what surprised Su Wu even more was that in the dark corners at the deepest part of the cabin, a few figures with powerful auras were sitting cross-legged!
One of them, a skinny old man with his eyes closed, emanated a pressure that had clearly reached—Star Emperor Realm Ninth Stage!
"It seems the temptation of this Pass is indeed great enough. Even a Star Emperor Ninth Stage is willing to come and be a hired gun for the military."
Su Wu calculated inwardly.
Most of these people were lone outlaws.
Their eyes were cold, guarding against each other.
Naturally, Su Wu had no interest in befriending this bunch of cannon fodder.
He walked very low-key to an empty seat near the cabin door, crossed his arms, closed his eyes, and waited quietly.
About another half hour passed.
"Boom—" The heavy alloy cabin door slowly closed.
"Tap, tap, tap." A series of crisp footsteps came from the direction of the command room on the second floor of the cabin.
Everyone's gaze looked over in unison.
A woman in a crisp dark blue federal officer uniform, with military rank on her shoulders, walked to the metal railing on the second floor, looking down at the crowd below.
The woman looked to be only in her twenties, her face cold and beautiful, features exquisite, with short ear-length hair that looked extremely capable. But in her amber eyes, there was a sense of coldness and iron-bloodedness.
"My name is Lin Na, and I am the tactical commander for this operation."
The woman's voice was not loud, but it clearly entered everyone's ears: "I won't waste words. Everyone present is here for that Star Domain Pass. So, don't talk to me about righteousness; we only talk about transactions."
"You know very well that these remnants of the Star Demon Cult are definitely a group of the toughest nuts to crack!"
Lin Na's cold gaze swept across the room, without any disguise or hypocrisy: "They have been driven into a corner and will surely bite back like mad dogs! This encirclement will be an extremely cruel meat grinder! Death is absolutely unavoidable!"
"The military will not be responsible for your lives. If you die, it is because your strength is insufficient."
"Now! The ship has not taken off yet."
Lin Na suddenly raised her hand, pointing to the cabin door behind her: "If anyone is afraid, if anyone thinks their life is more valuable than the Pass. Now is the time to quit, while there is still time! The military will not force anyone to stay!"
Inside the cabin, there was dead silence.
Only the roar of the ship's engines echoed.
Those Star King and Star Emperor Level outlaws didn't even blink.
Who among those who came here wasn't a madman who had thought it through and danced on the edge of a blade? Since they were on this pirate ship, no one had thought of giving up halfway.
"Very well."
Seeing that no one quit, a hint of satisfaction finally appeared on Lin Na's cold, hard face.
"Since everyone is not afraid of death and has decided to stay, then I will briefly introduce the specific rules of this mission!"
With Lin Na's words, "Rumble—!!!" the ship's thrusters erupted with blinding tail flames.
This transport ship violently tore through the border planet's atmosphere, rushed into the vast starry sky, and sped towards the target planet!
About only an hour passed.
The ship's speed dropped suddenly.
Su Wu opened his eyes and looked out through the observation window next to him.
In front of the ship, a medium-sized planet presenting a dead, earthy yellow color was floating.
Visible to the naked eye, a terrifying sandstorm was sweeping across the globe on the surface of that planet.
And in the outer space orbit of that yellow planet, hundreds of human military heavy interstellar cruisers and Planet Annihilator Cannons had surrounded this planet!
Exactly as Su Wu had thought.
Those outlaws had landed on this abandoned planet, clearly intending to fight the military to the death.
And the military had directly blockaded space with warships.
Then, threw them, this group of "cannon fodder reinforcements," down to clean up those rats!
"All attention!"
Commander Lin Na on the second floor shouted sharply.
"Everyone! The hunting time has arrived!"
As Lin Na's voice fell, the transport ship's cabin door opened wide to both sides with a boom!
The hundred or so top Martial Artists in the cabin turned into streams of light one after another.
