74: Chapter 74 Su Yu's Departure
In the blink of an eye, the eastern horizon began to pale, and a new day had arrived. Morning.
Su Yu woke up early and packed all his luggage. After confirming there was nothing left behind, Su Yu walked out of the suite.
Outside the door, Su Wu was already standing there quietly, wearing a crisp trench coat with his hands in his pockets.
Seeing Su Yu come out, Su Wu didn't say much; he simply stepped forward and straightened his son's slightly wrinkled collar.
The father and son looked at each other in silence. This was a kind of tacit understanding between men, where all the reluctance and concern melted into this silent gaze.
A moment later, Su Wu patted Su Yu's shoulder heavily, suppressing the bitterness of parting in his heart, and said in a low voice, "Let's go, it's about time. The Star Envoy should already be waiting at the port."
A few minutes later, at the Magic City No. 1 Interstellar Spaceport.
On the special-grade tarmac in the very center of the port sat a super spaceship, hundreds of meters long, with a dark silver, streamlined body that looked like a dormant behemoth of the starry sky.
This was the Star Envoy's vessel—a spaceship capable of flight across the Star Domain!
At this time, Li Yifeng and the other three seed contestants from Earth had already arrived at the port, surrounded by their families, their faces filled with both anxiety and longing for the unknown starry sky.
Su Yu, carrying a simple duffel bag, stopped in front of the boarding hatch.
He turned around slowly, looking at Su Wu, who stood a few meters away with a posture as straight as a pine tree.
The morning sun shone on Su Wu, casting a long shadow.
Su Yu's Adam's apple bobbed violently, and the reluctance in his eyes almost became tangible at this moment. He bent his knees, wanting to kowtow to his father, but was forcefully held up by an invisible, gentle force from Su Wu.
"Go on, don't dawdle." Su Wu waved his hand, pretending to be relaxed, with a faint smile on his lips.
Su Yu took one last deep look at his father, as if he wanted to engrave this face in his mind forever.
"Dad, I'm leaving. Take care!"
After saying this, Su Yu turned abruptly, not looking back, and strode after the Star Envoy and the others, stepping into the ship's hatch.
"Rumble—!" As the hatch closed, the antimatter thrusters at the bottom of the colossal star-class warship erupted with a blinding, incandescent white light.
The massive spaceship slowly ascended, then suddenly erupted with a terrifying ripple of space in mid-air.
"Whoosh!" In just a single breath, the behemoth tore through Earth's atmosphere, performed a faster-than-light space jump, and vanished completely from everyone's sight, leaving only a faint white contrail in the sky.
Su Wu kept his head tilted upward until the white contrail in the sky was dispersed by the wind, only then did he slowly withdraw his gaze.
"What? Can't bear to let him go?" Just then, a voice with a hint of teasing rang out abruptly behind Su Wu.
Su Wu didn't even turn his head; he knew it was that guy, Lin Feng.
"What's there to be reluctant about? He has to go through this sooner or later." Su Wu turned around, hands in his trench coat pockets, and said indifferently, "Alright, my son's affairs are settled, and it's time for me to prepare to leave."
"Prepare to leave?" Lin Feng, dressed in a white trench coat, crossed his arms and looked Su Wu up and down as if he were looking at an idiot. A hint of exaggerated mockery curled the corners of his mouth: "You plan to leave dressed like that? What, are you, the dignified Star King Su, planning to rely on your own Physical Body to traverse tens of thousands of light-years of the Void Realm and swim all the way to the Holy Spirit Star Domain?"
Hearing this mockery, Su Wu froze. Damn! A slip-up despite careful planning!
He had been so busy preparing equipment and paving the way for his son that he had completely forgotten about such a major issue! Although he was a powerhouse in the Star King Realm and could perform short-range space jumps within the Solar System, if he wanted to cross the Star Domain, he wouldn't be able to make it even if he flew for millions of years without eating or drinking!
He didn't even have a decent spaceship!
Seeing Su Wu's rare frustrated expression, Lin Feng finally couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Hahaha! I knew you hillbilly hadn't considered this point!"
Lin Feng shook his head with a smile, then his expression turned serious, and he snapped his fingers with great flair. "Snap!"
With this crisp snap, the Void Realm a hundred meters above Su Wu's head suddenly rippled violently like boiling water.
Immediately after, in Su Wu's shocked eyes, a small spaceship with a design that could be called a work of art slowly emerged from the Void Realm and landed on the tarmac.
This spaceship was not large, about thirty meters long and ten meters wide, roughly the size of a basketball court.
But its design was extremely unique, presenting a perfect, streamlined water-drop shape. It was unknown what metal the ship was made of; its entire body was a deep dark gold, with no seams on the surface, as if it had naturally grown from a single piece of divine iron.
"This is..." Su Wu's pupils constricted slightly. He could feel the terrifying level of technology contained within this small spaceship; it absolutely surpassed Earth by hundreds of eras!
"This is something I bought at an interstellar black market auction while I was on my way to the edge of the Third Star Zone to welcome the Star Envoy a few days ago."
Lin Feng walked to the side of the spaceship and patted the cold, smooth hull, showing an expression of extreme heartache and pain: "This is a genuine 'Cross-Star Domain Level Single-Person Shuttle'! To buy this little ancestor, I emptied out most of the savings I've accumulated over these years!"
Lin Feng turned his head and looked at the surprised Su Wu: "Don't overthink it; even if you gave me all the space rings of the three Mars family heads you killed back then, it wouldn't be enough to buy even one of its engines!"
Su Wu took a deep breath; he naturally knew what an interstellar vehicle of this level meant!
"..." Su Wu looked at the man in front of him with a complex gaze.
"Alright, stop looking at me with that mushy expression." Lin Feng waved his hand impatiently.
Su Wu did not decline further; great kindness requires no thanks.
He walked up to Lin Feng, his expression solemn as never before, cupped his hands, and bowed deeply: "Brother Lin. I, Su Wu, will remember this immense favor!"
Lin Feng waved his hand dismissively, then turned his back to Su Wu and waved again: "It's nothing. I just saw that you have extraordinary talent and am making a venture investment in you early on, just selling you a favor."
Su Wu looked at Lin Feng's back, smiled, said nothing more, turned around, and strode toward the dark golden shuttle.
