Chapter 10 Ye Fan's Craftsmanship

Just as Ye Fan was about to start feasting, Murong Wan's door suddenly opened, revealing her moving, pretty face that resembled a Moon Palace Fairy.

"Senior Sister, your secluded cultivation ended so quickly?"

Seeing Murong Wan's sudden appearance, Ye Fan was a bit flustered; even the freshly roasted rabbit meat he was bringing to his mouth stopped mid-air.

"Didn't I give you bigu pills? Why are you still making this?"

Ye Fan couldn't exactly say that the bigu pill had evolved into a dragon tiger pill.

He could only laugh it off, saying he wasn't used to the feeling of an empty stomach, so he took it upon himself to make some roast meat.

"Roast meat?"

Murong Wan's willow-like brows furrowed slightly as she subconsciously looked at the roast meat in his hand.

This was the first time she had seen such a novel cooking method, and she couldn't help but feel a bit interested.

"Senior Sister, would you like to try some?"

Ye Fan suddenly thought of something and handed the roast meat to Murong Wan as if trying to curry favor.

"..."

"It's just a bit of roast meat; consider it my rent," Ye Fan couldn't help but chuckle.

It had been several years since Murong Wan last ate.

She had almost forgotten what roast meat tasted like, but after some hesitation, she couldn't resist tearing off a piece to taste.

It had to be said that Ye Fan's roasting skills were superb, especially his secret seasoning, which was unique in the world.

The originally ordinary roast meat became entirely different in Ye Fan's hands; even an iceberg like Murong Wan seemed to be melting.

"How is it, Senior Sister? Tastes good, right?"

Murong Wan didn't speak, but simply nodded, acknowledging Ye Fan's craftsmanship.

"Since Senior Sister likes it, this roasted rabbit is for you. I'll go catch a new one in a bit."

Murong Wan glanced at Ye Fan and then divided the rabbit meat into two halves.

Seeing Murong Wan eating with such relish, Ye Fan couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.

Just now, he had made up his mind to "make the fake act real" with Murong Wan.

After all, relying solely on methods like "tricking and deceiving" made the speed of obtaining rewards too slow.

It would be better to find a way to win over this iceberg, Murong Wan; that was the long-term plan.

From Ye Fan's observations, Murong Wan was a typical person who was cold on the outside but warm on the inside, with a sharp tongue but a soft heart.

With his experience from two lifetimes, winning her over wouldn't be much of a problem.

"To go to such great lengths for a bit of gluttony... a person like you will find it hard to go far on the path of the Immortal Dao."

Murong Wan spoke up abruptly, but Ye Fan looked completely indifferent.

"I don't think what you're saying is right, Senior Sister."

Murong Wan was slightly taken aback and frowned, asking what was wrong with it.

"Senior Sister, do you believe that Cultivators should be without desires or needs?"

"Naturally."

"If one is without desires, then why insist on seeking immortality and the Dao? Isn't that a contradiction?"

Ye Fan's words left Murong Wan stunned, and for a moment, she didn't know how to refute them.

"I don't necessarily think Senior Sister is wrong, but life is short, even for Cultivators."

"Who knows if one might die in an accident one day? It's better to enjoy life while you can."

"Even if one's body perishes and the Dao vanishes, it won't have been a wasted trip to this world."

Ye Fan's words seemed to touch Murong Wan in some way, and she couldn't help but size up her "Dao Companion."

Ye Fan's looks couldn't be called handsome, but he certainly wasn't ugly; with sharp features and bold eyes, he could hold his own anywhere.

Although not as outstanding as people like Yan Jingyun, he possessed a different kind of temperament.

Murong Wan snapped out of it with a soft huff, stating that what Ye Fan said was nothing more than fallacious reasoning.

Yet her hands didn't stop, and she quickly finished the half of the roasted rabbit.

"It seems my craftsmanship suits your appetite, Senior Sister. You should eat this half too."

"No need, a taste is enough."

"It's fine, Senior Sister, you eat it. I'll just have some porridge."

"You even cooked porridge?"

"Yeah, it tastes good. Do you want to try some too?"

Murong Wan looked at the porridge pot nearby, a flash of surprise crossing her pretty face as she subconsciously asked, "Where did the water you used for the porridge come from?"

"From the Spiritual Spring nearby, of course. Senior Sister, I'm telling you, porridge cooked with Spiritual Spring water is indeed different; the taste is simply amazing..."

Ye Fan was lost in his own craftsmanship, completely failing to see Murong Wan repeatedly hovering on the edge of a breakdown.

"Ye Fan! That Spiritual Spring is where I... I... ba... ba..."

Murong Wan completely lost it this time; her delicate body couldn't help but tremble, and she wished she could draw her sword and hack him alive.

The sudden scene left Ye Fan stunned, not understanding why Murong Wan had such a strong reaction.

Before he could say anything else, he was kicked out of the Immortal Cave by Murong Wan, and even his identity token was snatched back.

"This..."

Under the whistling night breeze, only Ye Fan was left standing dazed in the wind, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

"It seems women are the same in every world; they change their faces faster than flipping a book."

Ye Fan grumbled helplessly. Seeing that the night was late and it wasn't appropriate to go anywhere else, he could only make do outside the Immortal Cave for the night.

Inside the Immortal Cave, Murong Wan's pretty face was so red it looked like it was about to bleed.

Although it was just an unintentional mistake on Ye Fan's part, the thought of him doing such a thing made her chest heave with embarrassment.

She even somewhat regretted letting Ye Fan move into the Immortal Cave; otherwise, how could such a thing have happened?

Murong Wan tried her best to regain her composure and, out of spite, stopped thinking about it, leaving Ye Fan to fend for himself outside the Immortal Cave.

Ye Fan made do outside the Immortal Cave for the night. Many Profound Spirit Peak Disciples noticed this, and in just one night, rumors and gossip spread everywhere.

Most people were gloating, saying he was kicked out on the very first night of his "wedding night." Could there be something wrong with Ye Fan's body?!

Similar news seemed to have grown wings, spreading throughout Profound Spirit Peak overnight.

It wasn't until the next day that Murong Wan's anger mostly subsided. Thinking about Ye Fan staying out in the cold wind all night, she felt she might have gone a bit too far.

"Come in. From now on, without my permission, you are not allowed to cook in the Grotto-heaven, and especially not... not... cook porridge."

Ye Fan nodded helplessly, still not knowing why Murong Wan had such a strong reaction.

Ye Fan hadn't slept well that night. Just as he was about to go back and catch up on some sleep, he heard a familiar shouting at the door.

"Ye Fan, get your ass out here for your father!"

Hearing his "dear son's" shouting, Ye Fan was also taken aback, inwardly cursing the guy for not enjoying his "gentle land" and coming here instead.

Ye Fan opened the door to see Lin Lei so angry his eyes were like copper bells, looking as if he wanted to eat him alive.

"Having a wife really makes a difference; you even dare to shout at your father now."

"You... you have the nerve to say that... Xin'er made me kneel all night because of you... It's all because of that 'Sex Education Guide'... Now she won't believe anything I say."

In a rage, Lin Lei threw the drawings at Ye Fan. For a moment, they flew everywhere inside the Immortal Cave, with a few landing right in front of Murong Wan.

"This is..."

When Murong Wan saw the contents on the drawings clearly, she felt as if her breathing had stopped.

"Ye Fan! Both of you, get out!"
