Chapter 6 Preparing to move in together

Usually, male Cultivators do not have high requirements for their appearance, so they are not very interested in youth retention pills.

However, the situation for female Cultivators is the exact opposite; they flock to youth retention pills.

It is said that the Pill Formula for this youth retention pill was lost long ago.

The youth retention pills that appear on the market are all relics from previous years.

It can be said that every pill consumed means one less in existence, so whenever a youth retention pill appears, the price skyrockets, often reaching around tens of thousands of Spirit Stones.

Such a large sum of money is enough to purchase High Grade or even Supreme Grade Magical Artifacts; most people would be reluctant to spend it on a youth retention pill.

As Ye Fan expected, the Hundred Treasures Pavilion did not have any youth retention pills.

The shop owner could only promise to keep an eye out for Ye Fan and notify him immediately if any stock arrived.

Ye Fan nodded and, as a second choice, picked out a Medium Grade Magical Artifact, a protective silk sash, as a gift.

Above Mortal Weapons are Magical Artifacts, which are further divided into Low Grade, Medium Grade, High Grade, and Supreme Grade.

Obtaining a Supreme Grade one is extremely rare, and its power can even be compared to a Magic Treasure of a higher realm.

A single Medium Grade Magical Artifact drained Ye Fan of his last seven hundred Spirit Stones, making his heart bleed.

If it weren't for considering his next plan, Ye Fan would never have been willing to part with that money.

"Farewell, esteemed guest. If there is any news about the youth retention pill, I will notify you at the first opportunity."

The shop owner sent Ye Fan off with a smile, only gradually dropping his cheerful expression after Ye Fan's figure completely disappeared.

"Someone this young who can casually take out a thousand Spirit Stones, and can even afford a youth retention pill, is most likely a Young Master from some major Family."

"If we can seize this cooperative opportunity, it will surely become a source of wealth."

Ye Fan was unaware that he had been 'targeted' again. He returned to the Joyous Union Sect contentedly and headed straight for Profound Spirit Peak, where Murong Wan resided.

Along the way, Ye Fan’s ears were almost calloused from hearing nothing but how Murong Wan chose a cripple as her Dao Companion.

In less than half a day, this news had already spread throughout the entire Joyous Union Sect.

Everyone was simultaneously lamenting whether Murong Wan had lost her mind, cursing Ye Fan as a good-for-nothing parasite relying on a woman, and simultaneously feeling jealous, wondering why it wasn't them.

Fortunately, Ye Fan had thick skin; otherwise, he truly couldn't have endured such mental assault.

"You are Ye Fan? Senior Sister Murong's Dao Companion?"

Seeing the strange looks from the mountain-guarding Disciples, Ye Fan could only nod helplessly.

The Joyous Union Sect typically divides its members into Utility Disciple, Outer Sect Disciple, Inner Sect Disciple, Personal Disciple, and the supremely lofty Dao Child and Saintess.

Utility Disciples, as the name suggests, are essentially manual laborers with virtually no future.

Outer Sect Disciples are usually promoted through Sect selections and assessments, or by a Utility Disciple achieving a Breakthrough to the Qi Refining Realm.

These Disciples make up half the Sect's population. They rarely receive dedicated guidance from a Master; instead, Elders and Deacons appointed by the Sect provide monthly Q&A sessions.

Although the status of an Outer Sect Disciple is higher than that of a Utility Disciple, the difference compared to an Inner Sect Disciple is like heaven and earth.

To become an Inner Sect Disciple, two conditions must be met: first, the Cultivation base must surpass the Fifth Level of Qi Refining Realm, and second, the age must not exceed thirty, to prevent those with insufficient Aptitude from muddling through.

Only by satisfying both conditions does one have a chance to be accepted by a Peak and become an Inner Sect Disciple.

At that point, they will not only receive personal guidance from the Peak Master Master but also benefit from the Sect's resource allocation—it is truly a path to great success.

Personal Disciples are even more extraordinary; they are the inheritors of the Peak Master or Seat Master, possessing the potential to become the next Peak Master.

Murong Wan is one of the Personal Disciples of Profound Spirit Peak, her status noble far beyond ordinary people's imagination.

This is why Murong Wan choosing Ye Fan as her Dao Companion caused such a massive stir.

As for the Dao Child and Saintess, neither has appeared for several hundred years.

They are the exceptional talents recognized by the entire Sect, cultivated vigorously as future successors to the Sect Head, receiving resources far beyond what anyone could imagine.

Given Ye Fan's previous status, wanting to see Murong Wan would undoubtedly have been a pipe dream.

But now, with the identity of a Dao Companion, the mountain-guarding Disciples could not stop him and could only watch him enter.

Murong Wan lived in an Immortal Cave she carved out herself, which was rich in Spiritual Qi, far superior to ordinary Disciple rooms.

What Ye Fan didn't expect was to see an acquaintance outside the Immortal Cave.

"Yan Jingyun?"

It seemed Yan Jingyun still hadn't given up and was still trying to pester Murong Wan.

"Junior Brother, please have some self-respect. I already have a Dao Companion."

"If you continue to harass me, I will report you to the Law Enforcement Hall."

Murong Wan's icy voice came from within the Immortal Cave, but Yan Jingyun remained unmoved.

"Wan'er, you should know my feelings. How could that kind of cripple be worthy of you? I..."

Yan Jingyun was about to say more when Ye Fan's laughter drifted over from the side.

"Oh, it's Senior Brother Yan. What a coincidence, you've also come to find Wan'er."

Yan Jingyun's face stiffened; he seemed unable to believe what he was hearing.

He turned his head to see Ye Fan walking over with a smile.

"You..."

"Senior Brother Yan, what's with that expression? Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?"

Yan Jingyun had meant to ask, 'How are you still alive?' but he swallowed the words back forcefully.

"What are you doing here?" Yan Jingyun asked with a gloomy face.

"I am Wan'er's Dao Companion, naturally I've come to practice Dual Cultivation with Wan'er," Ye Fan said with a smile.

"Dual... Dual Cultivation..."

Yan Jingyun nearly ground his teeth to dust upon hearing this; his face looked like it was turning green.

Everyone on Profound Spirit Peak, and indeed the entire Joyous Union Sect, knew that Murong Wan was his forbidden treasure.

Being provoked to his face like this, Yan Jingyun wished he could draw his sword and slay Ye Fan.

But this was Profound Spirit Peak. If he truly dared to kill Ye Fan in public, he would be dragged to the Punishment Hall the next second, and even if the Yan Family intervened to protect him, it would be useless.

Ye Fan ignored Yan Jingyun any further and instead knocked on the door, calling out for Murong Wan.

"Don't waste your breath. Wan'er has never allowed a male Disciple into her Immortal Cave. If you can..."

Yan Jingyun didn't finish speaking before the door to Murong Wan's Immortal Cave swung open, leaving him completely petrified.

"Senior Brother Yan, what were you just saying I could do if I could...?"

Yan Jingyun was dancing on the verge of a breakdown. After a long moment, he turned around angrily and left.

"Farewell, Senior Brother. Feel free to visit often in the future."

Although Ye Fan's mouth was smiling, he inwardly felt it was a pity.

He had actually wanted to provoke Yan Jingyun into attacking, just to eliminate this major hidden danger.

He hadn't expected this fellow to be so patient; even under these circumstances, he wouldn't strike.

Ye Fan walked into the Immortal Cave and found that it was truly a world of its own inside, a stark contrast to the thatched hut he lived in—heaven and earth apart.

"What are you doing here?"

Murong Wan walked out of the room, still maintaining that distant, aloof demeanor, exuding an icy aura all over her body.

Seeing this, Ye Fan could only offer a wry smile and frankly state that Murong Wan had ruined him.

"I ruined you? What do you mean?"

Ye Fan then began his acting, pouring out his grievances in front of Murong Wan.

He recounted the entire incident of being assassinated by Zhao Hu, which caused Murong Wan's delicate eyebrows to furrow tightly.

"If it weren't for the qi condensing pills you gave me, Wan'er, which allowed me to achieve a Breakthrough to the Qi Refining Realm, First Level, I would have lost my life," Ye Fan said with lingering fear.
