Chapter 2 - 1: Starting Out with Just Underwear

Jiang City, small apartment.Hang Yu finished his ten-hour shift.

Finally, he could flop onto the bed like a salted fish.

For him, this was the most relaxing moment of the day.

Hang Yu’s name could have many prefixes, such as: seasoned homebody, good guy card collector, 23-year-old single since birth, etc... Ever since graduating earlier in the year, things haven’t gone smoothly; he’s turned into a half-baked writer, willing to write anything for money.

At least he wouldn’t starve.

But in the face of soaring housing prices.

He could only abandon the dream of establishing roots in the big city.

Outside, inexplicable lightning filled the sky, accompanied by thunderous sounds.

The light above his head suddenly exploded, plunging the room into darkness.

It looked like a game app, automatically downloaded, silently installed.

WTF?

What the hell is this?

Why would such a weird app appear on my phone?

I don’t remember downloading anything like this!

"Could the phone have caught a virus? But that’s not right, without WiFi, with data off—how did it finish downloading? Could this freaking be a supernatural event!"

Hang Yu watched as a dreadfully tacky stone gate logo, accompanied by the words "Door to the Spirit Realm," arrogantly dominated the first spot on his homepage.

The first impression was of some utterly shameless third-rate game studio, hastily throwing together a slipshod product in two weeks just to rake in the cash.

Hang Yu tried to press and hold the icon to delete it, but the icon didn’t respond at all.

He rebooted the phone and used the phone manager, but to no avail.

It couldn’t be deleted, couldn’t be moved, utterly bizarre!

Unbelievable!

Never seen such an arrogant game before!

Are rogue apps so bold and unreasonable these days?

Forced installation might be one thing, but not even allowing deletion!

Hang Yu’s temper flared; he cursed the nefarious developer’s ancestors for eighteen generations in order, then decisively opened the game, "Alright, let’s see what you’re made of, I swear I’ll go online and roast you later!"

This time the app responded.

A three-dimensional vortex popped up.

The whole screen seemed to cave inward from the middle.

"Whoa, at least the launch effect’s cool," Hang Yu couldn’t help but say, "But bro, I’m worldly; if you’ve got the guts, show me something more exciting, more badass."

Who knew.

Just as he finished speaking.

The vortex broke out of the screen, expanding to reach human size.

Hang Yu felt as if a time-space tunnel had opened before him, with an irresistible force pulling him in, trying to completely swallow him.

"Holy crap! Holy crap!"

"What’s going on? Am I dreaming?"

"Somebody help! The mobile game is eating people!"

Hang Yu was so scared his soul flew and scattered, rolling in a panic, letting out a pitiful scream.

The sound was cut off abruptly.

The vortex contracted and vanished.

Hang Yu was sucked in completely.

The small rental room was now empty, as if nothing had happened.

When Hang Yu’s consciousness returned.

He was surrounded by a vast void filled with light.

This eerie scene could be described as nothing less than terrifying, unlike anything he’s seen before.

He found himself floating in mid-air, unable to move, his situation akin to a doll at someone’s mercy.

Hang Yu had already imagined an entire sci-fi movie plot, plus a few-million-word online novel.

Is he in Reincarnation Space?

Or has he been kidnapped by aliens?

Hang Yu didn’t know which world-class rupture he’d ended up in.

Anyway, his worldview was completely falling short.

Damn, these hands are so itchy, seeing something strange and pointlessly tapping it, now things are totally screwed, huh!

"Please choose a talent!"

Before Hang Yu had time to lament his brief life, along with the modest dreams of a small character he hadn’t yet achieved, a voice filled with authority yet devoid of any emotion resonated, and information surged in his mind.

Hang Yu had no choice but to grit his teeth and make his selection:
