99: Chapter 99

"This opportunity must not be missed."

"Those six people from back then haven't completely died off yet. He must follow in the footsteps of the Main God; this is something that must be done while alive, and a wish that must be fulfilled even in death."

"Dulio Gesualdo, our plan cannot wait any longer." Michael's gaze was fixed firmly ahead, without the slightest intention of wavering.

Dulio Gesualdo had long since packed his things, nodding in response: "Understood, Master!"

"Even if I am just a half-breed angel, I must make this journey; I cannot fail the Main God."

For the first time ever, Michael didn't interrupt him, just listening silently.

He knew clearly in his heart that the Heaven must leave behind a few seeds during this great calamity. He had already communicated with the Red Dragon Emperor, and he believed that guy would keep Dulio Gesualdo alive.

But on the side of the Hindu Pantheon, Shiva was not in such a good mood.

This Supreme God's face turned green after watching the footage of the collective evolution of the dragon species in the European canyon.

For him, this news was more painful than being stabbed.

Originally, the Red Dragon Emperor's strength was already enough to make one's scalp numb, and now, to make matters worse, all the dragon species in the Three Realms had been gathered together. If this power were twisted into a single rope, even the Hindu Pantheon, with its vast assets, couldn't withstand such an impact.

Not to mention that the other two Supreme Gods hadn't made a move for several hundred years, and Shiva couldn't figure out their thoughts at all.

The more he thought about it, the more wrong it felt.

An old fox who had lived for so long did not want to stumble at this critical juncture.

It had been so difficult to trick the Main God; there must not be any more slip-ups.

No.

Shiva cursed fiercely in his heart.

This absolutely could not continue like this.

He was a Supreme God, a Super Devil of the current world's third sequence. The last time, he had suffered a loss at the hands of the Red Dragon Emperor precisely because he was too careless.

From today on, every step must be calculated perfectly.

Thinking of this, Shiva left his palace and walked to a small, unremarkable hut by the Ganges River.

He recited a few incantations, and the gate opened inward automatically.

But just as the door cracked open, it slammed shut with a bang.

Shiva's expression darkened, and he let out a cold snort. "Hmph! Brahma, at a time like this, you still have the mind to play these tricks? You must have seen everything that happened before clearly. If we three Supreme Gods don't join forces and the Hindu Pantheon is wiped out, you won't have an easy life either."

A light, airy voice came from inside the room. "Shiva, I stopped managing affairs a long time ago. The Hindu Pantheon has always been managed by you, and you are the one who runs around outside. I won't get involved this time. You go find Luo Yu."

The one speaking was Brahma, the [God of Creation], one of the three Supreme Gods of the Hindu Pantheon. But his words clearly showed no respect for Shiva.

Shiva's face turned gloomy on the spot.

He naturally knew that Luo Yu would take action. Among the three Supreme Gods, only he and Luo Yu had a decent relationship. But Brahma's strength was not weak either. It was just that because of some ancient grievances, Brahma had been ostracized by them, and he hadn't expected him to hold a grudge until now. "Heh, fine, don't help then. Such a trivial matter, and you've held onto it for hundreds of years? Forget it, I'll go find Luo Yu."

The strength gap between the three was not large, and Shiva didn't dare to force him, fearing he would push Brahma completely to the opposite side. That was a price he couldn't afford.

The forbidden area of the Hindu Pantheon. Shiva stood outside the door, his expression flickering between dark and clear. "Since you've come, then come in."

Before the words faded, the gate to the forbidden area opened automatically.

Shiva's face brightened, and he stepped inside quickly. He saw a plain-looking young man sitting there with his eyes closed, as if meditating. "Which avatar of yours is this again? I have never seen your true form." Shiva teased with a smile. "Speak directly. I haven't made a move for many years." The young man didn't open his eyes, his tone flat.

Shiva nodded: "Vishnu, you are the [God of Protection] of our Hindu Pantheon. Now that the sect has reached a critical juncture, you surely don't want it to be destroyed in your hands, right?"

As soon as these words landed, the [God of Protection] Luo Yu finally opened his eyes, looking at the [God of Destruction] before him with a strange expression. "Shiva, you're quite good at telling jokes now." Vishnu sneered. "I heard the Red Dragon Emperor has shaken the Three Realms recently. Are you afraid of him?"

Shiva was touched on a sore spot, but he nodded anyway, bracing himself.

There was no other way. The threat from Luo Yu was growing greater and greater. He wouldn't feel at ease without finding a way out. If Luo Yu really had the ability to kill him, and a Super Devil of the third sequence died, the Hindu Pantheon would inevitably be finished. "Don't you really worry about the destruction of the Hindu Pantheon? All that faith power—it's no good for you, me, or Brahma." Shiva said through gritted teeth, despite being unwilling to admit it. "You think I'm not worried?" Vishnu said, "But this time, I have a reason why I cannot personally take action. How about this, I will let Garuda go and help you."

As the words fell, his mind stirred, and a figure appeared out of thin air beside him, hands pressed together. "Garuda?"

"Shiva."

Looking at the calm and composed Vishnu, Shiva could only nod. However, he said he couldn't personally take action... perhaps it just hadn't reached that point yet?

Shiva finally felt a bit more at ease.

It seemed that the three Supreme Gods each had their own trump cards hidden.

Regarding strength, there was absolutely no need to worry. "Fine, don't hide and refuse to act when the time comes. Garuda's strength is decent, come with me."

As the words fell, the large golden bird beside him instantly shrank into a small hawk, landing gently on Shiva's wrist.

The two turned and left.

Vishnu waited until they were far away before opening his eyes again.

He sighed.

This space fell back into silence, as if nothing had happened.

Michael's Plan

Luo Yu had originally intended to return to camp.

He was intercepted halfway by Dulio Gesualdo, who said Michael had something to discuss with him.

It seemed the commotion he had caused in the canyon had already alarmed quite a few people.

He pondered carefully; the war with the Otherworld was about to begin, and he had to lead the dragon species to charge over.

But before that, he had to deal with the affairs of this world cleanly.

Currently, he didn't have absolute certainty against the Hindu Pantheon.

But with this group from Heaven added in, it wouldn't be much of a problem. "Dulio Gesualdo, what exactly does your master want with me?"

Luo Yu had a rough idea, but he asked anyway. "Oh, won't you know once you go? There must be something good this time, which is why he's thinking of you."

Dulio Gesualdo was vague, and Luo Yu shook his head helplessly.

No matter what, if the affairs of this world weren't settled, if he took the dragon species to the Otherworld, the forces left behind here would be completely wiped out by someone else.

Upon arriving at Heaven, Dulio Gesualdo led him directly to the eighth level.

The gate opened, and as the two walked in, they saw Michael standing inside.

Luo Yu looked Michael up and down.

Today, this Michael was completely different from the last time he had seen him.

The aura fluctuations on his body were heavier, and his whole person exuded a sense of age.

Could it be that he had sacrificed himself?

However, he knew Michael would surely volunteer the information, so he wasn't in a hurry to ask. "You've come, Red Dragon Emperor."

Michael's eyes lit up.

He had seen everything Luo Yu had done in that large canyon in Europe.

This kid was clearly preparing to invade the Otherworld.

Michael felt inexplicably that the Red Dragon Emperor had the ability to do what they old guys hadn't managed to accomplish.

After all, this kid's growth speed could not be measured by conventional logic.

Every time, he left people stunned. "The aura on your body is thicker than last time. Tell me your plan."

Luo Yu got straight to the point.

He couldn't be bothered to beat around the bush when talking to an ally.

That would be too fake. "It seems you already know most of it in your heart. However, if you hadn't caused such a big commotion in the European canyon, I wouldn't have advanced the plan, nor would I have been in such a rush to launch this Three Realms war. In a sense, you pushed the war forward. This time, we can only win, not lose."

Michael's tone was heavy, allowing no room for error.

Luo Yu rolled his eyes.

This guy's ability to shift blame was truly impressive.

Luo Yu stared at Michael, his brows knitted tightly. "Exactly how much are you planning to advance it by? Do you really intend to use Heaven as a sacrifice? Even if you can win, is that truly the ending you want to see? You know clearly how many monsters are locked up in Heaven. Once we deal with Shiva and the others, and then turn back to face that pile of things, how do you plan to clean up the mess?"

Michael listened and laughed instead.

In the end, the final decision-making power still fell on the Red Dragon Emperor.

The most core monsters imprisoned in Heaven were precisely the Evil Dragons. And Luo Yu had just subdued a large group of them; even if the Evil Dragons were suppressed severely by Heaven, the resonance in the depths of their bloodlines couldn't be escaped. As long as Luo Yu was willing to step in and recruit them, wouldn't this mess be cleaned up logically?

"Leave it to you to handle, how about that?" Michael spoke without hesitation.

Luo Yu snorted. "They are indeed a not-insignificant force, but their hostility is too heavy. I don't believe they will obediently bow their heads. Plus, after being tortured by you for so many years, their resentment toward you is likely even deeper. Even if the Holy Light Dragon is powerful, it's not omnipotent, right?"

Although these words were a cheap offer, he still had to see if he could handle it. He had the strength, but whether to subdue them or not was another matter. "The hostility is indeed heavy." Michael softened his tone, "But you are now crushing them with your bloodline, having transformed into a Heavenly Dragon. Even if they are as evil as can be, can they still escape from your palm?"

Luo Yu rolled his eyes.

Michael didn't stop, continuing: "I plan to set a trap and wait for Shiva to walk into it himself. What he has done recently is truly disheartening; it's not at all how a Super Devil should behave, let alone one of the third sequence! If this matter gets out, the Hindu Pantheon might as well just quit. Even if the other two Supreme Gods take action, they won't be able to save him."

Mentioning the other two Supreme Gods of the Hindu Pantheon, Luo Yu felt a bit uneasy.

What if those two got involved too? Brahma and Vishnu—one was stronger than Shiva. One controlled the power of creation, the other possessed the power of protection, which was at odds with Shiva's Power of Destruction.

But the Hindu Pantheon was their foundation after all; who could say for sure?

Michael shook his head; he didn't dare to guarantee this either. "From what I've heard, there was a conflict between Shiva and Brahma in ancient times. Shiva has always been close to Vishnu, and the two of them teamed up to ostracize Brahma. But Brahma has a very strong sense of belonging to the pantheon. Whether those two will ultimately take action depends on heaven's will. As long as you can hold them off, I have a way to deal with it."

Luo Yu thought for a moment before speaking. "Holding them off is not a problem. The problem is that there are too many capable people; I'm afraid some reclusive old guys will jump out to stir up trouble. The Underworld and the Human World both have movements. If that group of guys really concentrates on causing trouble, it will be a headache."

"It also depends on the other two parties."

Michael said in a deep voice. "If the Fallen Angels and the Grigori are willing to stand on our side, maybe we can still fight."

"Our four Seraphs in Heaven are not pushovers either; we can hold the line."

Hearing these words, Luo Yu sighed in his heart.

He couldn't tell if this was the last glow of sunset or the faint light before dawn.

But having reached this point, he could only give it his all.

He held quite a few cards in his hand; if it really came to a fight, he might not necessarily lose.
