30: Chapter 30 Internal Force Conversion
The next day, you ran to the thatched cottage early in the morning.
You knew the habits of that old man, Master Wu Suanzi; he woke up very early every day, and you were afraid of being thrashed by him if you arrived late.
"You're here?" Master Wu Suanzi had indeed risen early and was fiddling with his little vegetable garden, which was overgrown with weeds.
"A bit late." Master Wu Suanzi kept his head down, looking like an ordinary farmer while wearing a straw hat.
"Yes, Master." You didn't dare to refute him; in fact, on a normal day, you would have woken up even later.
Master Wu Suanzi clapped his hands, brushing the soil off his body.
"Let's go, let's eat. You haven't had breakfast yet, have you?" Master Wu Suanzi said as he stood up.
You nodded.
Breakfast was prepared by Master Wu Suanzi himself; you never imagined that a big shot Martial Arts Myth like him would actually know how to cook.
After all, the last time, it was the people from the Liehuo Sect who brought it directly.
Breakfast was very simple: just plain white porridge with a little spicy cabbage.
"Eat well, sleep well." Master Wu Suanzi took a sip of porridge. "I can't teach you much, but you should remember these things."
"Yes, Master." You looked longingly at the empty bowl that had held the spicy cabbage and at your own bowl, which was still more than half full of white porridge.
Master Wu Suanzi shook his head and added some more spicy cabbage for you.
He squatted down at the door of the thatched cottage, lit a cigarette, and smoked it slowly.
You continued to eat your breakfast.
"Wash the bowls." Master Wu Suanzi blew a smoke ring and said to you.
You were a bit puzzled and looked at him.
Logically speaking, shouldn't you, old man, be teaching me about Internal Energy conversion?
"I cooked the meal, you wash the bowls," Master Wu Suanzi said.
It sounded quite reasonable, so you had no choice but to go wash the bowls.
After you finished washing the bowls, Master Wu Suanzi had just about finished his cigarette.
He clapped his hands and sat down on a rocking chair.
"Kid, come here."
You walked respectfully to his side.
"However, to have reached a Breakthrough to the Innate Realm in three years truly surprised me," Master Wu Suanzi said.
"It is all thanks to Master's good teaching," you said.
Master Wu Suanzi patted your head. "You kid, when did I teach you anything? Your own talent is undeniable, no need to be humble."
"Yes," you replied.
"Alright, before I teach you about Internal Energy conversion, tell me first: what is your understanding of the Realms?" Master Wu Suanzi asked.
You thought for a moment before answering.
"Ming Realm, Dark Realm, Transcendent, Innate, Martial Arts Saint, Martial Arts Myth—is that correct?"
Master Wu Suanzi shook his head. "These names are all artificially defined. In reality, the Realms of Cultivation that we currently know consist of four steps."
He looked at you and paused deliberately. "Among them, the Ming Realm, Dark Realm, and Transcendent are merely the foundation, and only upon reaching the Innate Realm is it considered the first step of Cultivation."
You were stunned upon hearing this. The Innate Realm is actually just the first step of Cultivation?
You suddenly felt that this matter of Cultivation was like a Matryoshka doll; even an Immortal Emperor who underwent Ascension ends up just having to go mine.
Master Wu Suanzi continued, "The second step is what we know as the Martial Arts Saint, the third step is the Martial Arts Myth, and the fourth step…"
Master Wu Suanzi glanced at you. "No one has reached the fourth step yet. If you kid truly reach the fourth step, then you can name it whatever you want at that time."
"Some people spend their whole lives without even reaching the first step," Master Wu Suanzi said, shaking his head.
He looked at you. "You haven't reached it yet either."
You didn't understand his words. What did he mean by 'you haven't reached it yet'? Aren't you already a Grandmaster now?
Master Wu Suanzi didn't waste words and directly channeled a stream of Internal Energy into your body.
No, this wasn't Internal Energy. You could feel that this thing was somewhat different from the Internal Energy within you.
"Hold your breath, kid!" Master Wu Suanzi's voice suddenly deepened.
You didn't dare to hesitate for even a second; you immediately guarded your heart pulse tightly and focused your mind.
You felt that stream of energy wandering through your body.
And the Internal Energy within your body was slowly disappearing.
You were a bit panicked, not knowing what was happening, feeling as if your body were like a deflated ball.
"Don't be afraid, kid," Master Wu Suanzi said.
You weren't actually that afraid; after all, even if you died, you could just restart.
Slowly, you felt a wondrous force from between heaven and earth gathering within your body.
It was a force even more wondrous than Internal Energy.
This force began to replace the Internal Energy in your body, slowly filling your body.
You didn't know how much time had passed, but it wasn't until the sun went down outside that you felt this force had completely replaced the Internal Energy that was originally in your body.
"This thing is called Spirit Power," Master Wu Suanzi said. "Alright, kid, you are now a true Innate Grandmaster."
You respectfully knelt on the ground and kowtowed to Master Wu Suanzi. "Thank you, Master."
Master Wu Suanzi waved his hand. "Forget it, get lost. I'm comfortable by myself; seeing you people is annoying."
Only then did you respectfully exit the thatched cottage.
The Grand Elder of the Liehuo Sect had been waiting outside. Seeing you come out, he ran quickly to your front. "Young Friend Lin? Your Internal Energy has completely converted into Spirit Power."
You nodded, looking at his astonished expression, not knowing what was wrong.
After the Grand Elder's explanation, you finally understood.
For an ordinary Loose Cultivator, if they reached the Innate Realm, it would take at least two or three years to completely convert their Internal Energy, and even with the help of a Martial Saint expert, it would take at least half a year.
"Unexpected, truly unexpected. In just one day, Senior Master Wu Suanzi has actually converted all the Internal Energy in your body," the Grand Elder exclaimed in continuous amazement.
You looked at the thatched cottage, and the gratitude in your heart couldn't help but rise to another level.
The time that followed began to become dull.
Your cultivation level didn't make much progress.
The only interesting thing was that you went to Danwang Valley and stole many Medicinal Pills from that old Pill King.
The Pill King is in the Late Stage of the Innate Realm; although he is two minor Realms higher than you, he couldn't stop you if you really wanted to run.
Although it was stealing, you would purposely let the Pill King discover you every time.
If he didn't come, you would even find a Disciple of Danwang Valley and have him tell the Pill King that you had arrived.
Nowadays, when the Disciples in the valley saw your figure from afar, they not only didn't panic but instead cupped their hands toward you with a look of being accustomed to it.
"Grandmaster Lin, are you here to take Medicinal Pills again today?"
"Our Valley Master is currently practicing Alchemy; it is estimated that it will be half an incense stick of time before he can come to chase you. Will you wait a moment?"
You, unhurriedly, asked this Disciple to go make tea while you waited for the Pill King to chase you.
Two years flashed by.
The Pill King Conference was held again.
Now, you felt that participating in the Pill King Conference was really bullying others too much.
Moreover, the benefits of the Spirit Liquid Pool were already relatively small for you; it was not as practical as going to take a few Medicinal Pills from the Pill King.
However, you still participated.
What bullying the weak? That is called fighting a prepared battle.
Furthermore, you thought of a girl holding a candy.
She should be at the Peak of the Transcendent Realm now, while you are a Innate Grandmaster.
Mu Xue, I am coming.
Hehehe!
