217: Chapter 217 The Land of the Underworld
"Who am I? Which city? Identity token?"
Being questioned by a pale-faced, fanged zombie, Lin Bei was instantly hit with a triple whammy of confusion.
The leading zombie captain was only at the Late Stage of Dragon Transformation and couldn't tell his strength at all.
Seeing Lin Bei's appearance, his eyes lit up, revealing an expression of excitement.
"What? Could it be that you don't have an identity token?"
"Captain, to tell you the truth, I lost my identity token..." Being new here, Lin Bei didn't want to resort to violence immediately and wanted to see what this guy who looked like a zombie was up to.
"Lost it?!" The zombie captain was even more excited upon hearing this. "It's good that you lost it! Let's go, let's go, I'll take you to get a replacement!"
A zombie is a zombie; this acting is just too stiff...
Lin Bei kept complaining internally, but on the surface, he appeared very happy. "Then I am very grateful to this captain. May I ask how to address you?"
"Just call me A-Wei! Follow me!"
"Clatter..." A group of zombie soldiers dispersed, surrounding Lin Bei in the middle, and followed behind the zombie captain.
As they walked, the zombies on the street cast curious glances at Lin Bei.
Before long, the group arrived in front of a closed building.
"Old rules, once we go inside, lock the door. Within half an hour, don't open the door no matter what sounds you hear! Do you hear me?" Captain A-Wei, unable to hide his excitement, ordered his subordinates.
"Understood! Please rest assured, Captain!" The soldiers all looked envious.
"Captain A-Wei, is this the place to replace an identity token? It doesn't look like it..." Lin Bei, adhering to the principle of acting out the full role, asked anxiously.
"What the hell do you know!" The zombie captain frowned. "Replacing an identity token is a top-secret matter, so naturally, it needs to be in a hidden place like this! Follow me inside!"
As he spoke, not allowing Lin Bei to refuse, he grabbed his shoulder and walked into the door together.
"Creak..." The door, made of some unknown metal, slowly closed, and the dim hall immediately became even darker.
"Captain, there is no one here. Are you going to help me replace the identity token?"
"Hehehe..." The zombie captain finally stopped pretending. "According to the regulations, if a Cultivator enters the city without an identity token, the city can deal with them as it pleases!"
"Don't worry! I won't take your life, just suck half of your essential blood; you won't die!" As he spoke, his fangs grew three times longer, looking even more terrifying.
"Regulations? Who set them?" In the darkness, the corners of Lin Bei's mouth curled into a mocking smirk.
"Hmm?" The zombie captain was stunned. "Of course, it's the regulations passed down by the nine imperial cities! Does that even need to be asked?"
"Nine imperial cities..."
Lin Bei wanted to say more, but the zombie captain had already rushed over with his bloody mouth wide open. "You talk too much; let me take a bite first!"
Lin Bei shook his head helplessly and flicked his finger lightly.
"Bang!"
"Ah!" The zombie captain let out a miserable shriek; of his two sharp fangs, only one remained.
"Whoosh!" He flashed to the metal door and pounded on it frantically. "Open the door! Open the door quickly! I am Captain A-Wei!"
Outside the door, a group of zombie soldiers laughed.
"This guy is actually quite good at imitating the captain's voice!"
"Do you think there's a possibility... that it really is the captain?"
"Impossible, absolutely impossible! The captain is a Dragon Transformation expert. Although that kid's cultivation cannot be seen, he is obviously very young and cannot have reached the Dragon Transformation Realm!"
The voices faintly reached the zombie captain's ears, almost making him vomit blood.
Before he could continue shouting, a large, illusory hand grabbed him. "Stop yelling, I have a few questions for you!"
"Sen... Senior, please... please ask!" Captain A-Wei was not a fool; how could he not understand now that he had kicked an immortal metal plate this time.
"What is this place?" Lin Bei asked coldly.
"Here?" The zombie captain was a bit confused. "Holy Zombie City?"
"Slap!" Lin Bei slapped him directly across the face. "I'm talking about this space!"
"Huh?" The zombie captain was even more confused. "This is Yinming Land! Senior, you haven't lost your memory, have you?"
"Yin! Ming! Land?!" Lin Bei spat out word by word.
"Damn System! Come out and explain this to me! Can your randomization get any more ridiculous?"
"Ding! Host, please watch your language. This is not a System error. A spatial rift connecting to Yinming Land appeared not far from where the Host died in the Desolate Ancient Continent previously; it is very reasonable to have randomly ended up here!"
Lin Bei stammered, discovering that he really couldn't refute it, and the idea of extorting it for more vanished.
"Yinming Land... I seem to have heard of it somewhere..."
"Senior, this little one was blind and failed to recognize Mount Tai; please spare my life..." Captain A-Wei's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Slap!" Another big slap flew across. "I ask, you answer. You are not allowed to speak unless I ask!"
"Yes, yes, yes!"
"What race are you? Why do you look so ugly?"
"I..." Captain A-Wei wanted to retort, but thinking of his current situation, he could only answer obediently. "Holy Zombie City is the territory of our Zombie Clan..."
Afterward, he couldn't help but add in a low voice, "Senior, actually, I am considered quite handsome among the Zombie Clan..."
Lin Bei raised his hand and slapped him on the head again. "You don't think you're funny, do you?"
The zombie captain had tears in his eyes and didn't dare say another word.
"How is the strength of your Zombie Clan?" Seeing that the other party had quieted down, Lin Bei continued to ask.
Upon hearing this, Captain A-Wei perked up again.
"Senior!" His pale face was full of pride. "There are 108 cities in Yinming Land, and our Holy Zombie City is ranked 101st!"
Lin Bei couldn't help but roll his eyes. "You're at the bottom of the list and you're still so proud? Don't you have any ambition?"
The zombie captain looked at him aggrievedly, wanting to say something but hesitating.
"Bang!" The large hand once again slapped him on the head without warning.
"If you have something to say, say it! I hate coy zombies the most!"
This time, there were even more tears in Captain A-Wei's eyes. "Senior should know that the vast majority of races are not qualified to build cities..."
Lin Bei immediately understood the other party's meaning.
The number of races here is far more than 108.
"Tell me about the specific strength of your Zombie Clan! High-end strength!"
"Oh... in Holy Zombie City, there are currently twenty-three Silver-Fanged Zombies and two Golden-Fanged Zombies!"
"Silver-Fanged? Golden-Fanged?" Lin Bei was stunned. Amidst the other party's heart-wrenching screams, he snapped off his other fang and held it up to his eyes to examine it carefully.
"Then what kind of fangs are yours?"
"Sen... Senior," the zombie captain gasped for breath, "mine are just Steel-Fanged..."
"If I were to Breakthrough to the Saint-Grade, they would turn into Silver-Fangs, and if I were to Breakthrough to Great Saint, they would turn into Golden-Fangs..."
"Damn it!" Lin Bei was speechless. "Then why didn't you just say Saint and Great Saint? I wouldn't have had to snap your tooth off!"
"I... you... Pfft!" The zombie captain could no longer take it, spat out a mouthful of blood, and passed out.
Looking at the other party's appearance, a mocking, half-smiling expression flashed across the corners of Lin Bei's mouth, while internally he was somewhat surprised.
A race that couldn't even rank in the top 100 actually possessed two Great Saints and over twenty Saints? The overall strength of this Yinming Land seemed to surpass the Desolate Ancient Continent...
A dozen breaths later, he pushed down his thoughts and glanced at the zombie captain lying on the ground. "I've given you so much time, and reinforcements still haven't arrived?"
