259: drink wine

Chen Beggar was still observing the young man.

He greatly admired this little fellow, who was almost exactly like himself when he was young.

At night, they returned to the dilapidated temple.

The young man looked at Chen Beggar, his face full of admiration:

"Chen Ge, you're amazing! You actually managed to beg for so many things.

You're practically a Congenital Beggar God-body!"

"..."

Chen Beggar's mouth twitched, and his face darkened slightly.

This kid... doesn't quite know how to talk.

He shook his head and threw all the things he had begged for to the young man, saying irritably:

"Take a look yourself and see if there's anything you need."

"Hehe..."

The young man chuckled.

He first pulled all the food into his arms, eating as he rummaged through the other things.

Chen Beggar watched quietly from the side; among the items, there were a few things he had deliberately added.

"Huh?"

The young man let out a light 'huh' and picked up a small dagger from a pile of things:

"Chen Ge, why is there a small knife here?"

"I picked it up."

"Picked it up?"

The young man nodded. Who would ever give something like that to a beggar?

He held the dagger, swung it around a few times randomly, and looked at Chen Beggar with some anticipation:

"Chen Ge, can you give me this small knife?"

"What use would you have for it?"

Chen Beggar asked.

The young man's eyes flickered, shining slightly, and he gripped the dagger tightly:

"With it, I can protect myself and make the people who bully me not dare to bully me anymore!"

There was a hint of ruthlessness in his tone.

As he spoke, he swung the dagger fiercely a couple of times, as if brandishing it at the people who bullied him.

He has grit.

Chen Beggar nodded secretly. Often, with a bit of grit, you can accomplish many things.

Of course, that's assuming you don't die.

"I'll give it to you."

Chen Beggar said.

Hearing this, the young man was overjoyed and quickly said gratefully:

"Thank you, Chen Ge."

After speaking, he continued rummaging. Looking at the pile of items, he became even more emotional, thinking that Chen Ge truly was a Congenital Beggar God-body.

The things he had begged for in one day were more than what he could manage in half a month.

After rummaging for a while, the young man said with some regret:

"Unfortunately, all these things are mundane objects and can't be exchanged for Spirit Stones."

"Take your time."

Chen Changsheng said with a smile.

The young man nodded and said firmly:

"One day, I will definitely get a Spirit Stone."

His dream was as simple as Chen Beggar's was back then: he just wanted a Spirit Stone.

And perhaps, this one Spirit Stone was just the starting point of his dream.

"Chen Ge, I heard that many Cultivators hunt Demon Beasts to exchange for Spirit Stones..."

He looked at the dagger in his hand, his eyes shining slightly.

Chen Beggar glanced at him and said indifferently:

"If you want to die, go find a Demon Beast."

Without any cultivation and just a small dagger, it would be difficult to even fight a wild beast. Encountering a Demon Beast would result in only one outcome: death.

He wouldn't even be qualified to be a snack for a Demon Beast.

The young man smiled awkwardly, carefully hugging the dagger to his chest, and looked up at the stars in the night sky, which twinkled with light.

... ...

On the other side.

Qin Jiang, familiar with the route, no longer needed Chen Bai Zhe's invitation and pushed the door open directly.

Chen Bai Zhe was still in her original spot, sitting in front of the zither.

She seemed a bit dispirited.

For an Immortal, going without sleep for a year wouldn't be an issue.

However, Chen Bai Zhe's appearance clearly showed that she had suffered a blow.

She didn't even react to Qin Jiang's arrival.

"Not seeing you for a day, how did Chen Bai Zhe Immortal become so haggard?"

Qin Jiang said in surprise.

Hearing the voice, Chen Bai Zhe looked up slightly, glanced at Qin Jiang, didn't say much, and lowered her head again.

She was so haggard.

It was all because of Qin Jiang. A few simple words had caused her beliefs to collapse.

Even now, she was still pondering Qin Jiang's words.

The more she thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed!

But the more reasonable it was, the greater the blow to her.

Regardless of whether her brother had perished or didn't care about her, it was a huge blow to Chen Bai Zhe.

Qin Jiang smiled faintly, sat opposite Chen Bai Zhe, and casually tossed the zither aside.

"You..."

Chen Bai Zhe's beautiful eyes widened.

Her cherished zither was just casually thrown away by this fellow?

"Do you know what to do when you're in a bad mood to relieve your worries?"

"What?"

"In my hometown, there's a saying: What can relieve worries? Only Du Kang.

This Du Kang is a type of fine wine."

Qin Jiang smiled slightly, waved his arm lightly, and several jars of fine wine appeared on the table.

Qin Jiang had gotten these from Qing Chan.

"Wine?"

Chen Bai Zhe's beautiful eyes flickered. She did know that many people would drown their sorrows in alcohol.

However, she had never drunk alcohol before.

Now, feeling extremely troubled, she really wanted to try it.

Gritting her teeth, Chen Bai Zhe picked up a jar of wine and was about to gulp it down.

"Wait!"

At this moment, Qin Jiang raised his hand to stop her.

Chen Bai Zhe frowned delicately, looking at him in confusion.

Qin Jiang smiled, tapped himself twice, and said:

"Drinking.

It's best to seal your cultivation, otherwise, this wine will be wasted."

"Seal my cultivation?"

Chen Bai Zhe hesitated slightly.

Qin Jiang picked up a jar, took a big gulp, and laughed heartily:

"Refreshing!

With your cultivation, if you don't seal it, drinking wine is no different from drinking water.

Like me, the alcohol can then take effect!"

Saying this, he took another large gulp.

Seeing this, Chen Bai Zhe licked her red lips and took a small sip, feeling nothing.

After a moment of hesitation, seeing Qin Jiang's appearance, she gritted her silver teeth and also sealed her cultivation.

Qin Jiang had sealed his, so even if she sealed hers, he couldn't do anything to her.

Seeing this, a smile appeared at the corner of Qin Jiang's mouth.

Holding up a wine jar, he offered it to Chen Bai Zhe:

"Come, cheers!"

"Cheers... cheers..."

Chen Bai Zhe also held up a wine jar, and the two gently clinked them together.

Qin Jiang directly gulped down the entire jar in one go, while Chen Bai Zhe drank a little, and her pretty face turned rosy.

Adding a touch of cuteness.

"Drinking like that is too timid. Wine should be drunk in big gulps."

Qin Jiang instructed.

Hearing this, Chen Bai Zhe nodded and took a large gulp. The spiciness of the strong wine made her cough uncontrollably.

The wine flowing down her fair neck was also a beautiful sight.

Qin Jiang smiled, reached out to wipe the wine from the corner of her mouth, and looking at her rosy face, he said:

"Is this your first time drinking?"

"Mm~"

Chen Bai Zhe dodged Qin Jiang's hand and nodded slightly.

Qin Jiang retracted his hand and looked at the wine he had wiped off, putting it to his lips and taking a sip:

"It's quite sweet."

"You..."

Chen Bai Zhe's pretty face became even redder, unable to tell if it was from the fine wine or from shyness.

She glared at Qin Jiang, picked up the wine jar, and began drinking in large gulps.

Her beautiful eyes gradually became hazy.

However, no matter what, she was still an Immortal. A mere jar of wine couldn't get her drunk.
