He had no choice but to caress her back, and within a few moments, she let go, wiping the tears that slightly gushed down her temples.

Melinda gave a slight nod as their gaze pierced. Although she couldn’t maintain eye contact, that was the least of Jayden’s concerns now.

He left the café in no time, but before he left, he had to meet up with Harper to fulfill his promise.

Next, he headed straight to the apartment where he suddenly spotted Sofia.

It was almost dark, and he was surprised to have seen her there. Temi was outside as well, standing by the balcony while Sofia sat on the pavement.

He furrowed his brows, giving her a stern stare.

Temi approached him with a welcome kiss before he returned his attention to Sofia.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Jayden asked as his face darkened.

"To apologize," Sofia quickly stood up, her eyes showing her deep sense of innocence and sadness.

Perhaps she was trying to make Jayden feel pity, but that was not the man that he was anymore... perhaps just not for her.

"Apology accepted. Now leave."

That response came in a bang, as Sofia was suddenly hit by the harsh statement, making her flinch at once. It was something she was ready to face, but giving up at this point was the least of her plans.

"Please hear me out, Jayden. I really need us to talk. I promise not to waste much of your time," Sofia begged, her eyes pleading.

"There is actually nothing we can talk about. You want my forgiveness? Yeah, I already gave that to you. But no, you can’t have even a minute of my time. You have to leave now or else..."

"Please... I’m sorry," Sofia quickly cut in.
