18: The trial begins

Lin Chen woke up feeling refreshed.

He did not experience any Dreamland Traversal last night; instead, he had a good night's sleep.

Checking the time, it was already 7:00 AM.

Modu Martial University had prepared breakfast.

Lin Chen finished quickly and hurried to the sports field.

Arriving at the field, a glance showed that most of those participating in the trial had already arrived.

There were about 2,000 people.

Lin Chen saw a familiar figure—Qin Yu.

Qin Yu was wearing a black combat suit, and the hand that Lin Chen had broken was already fully recovered.

Qin Yu stood obsequiously beside a blond-haired youth, occasionally saying a few flattering words.

At this moment.

Qin Yu looked up and saw Lin Chen, a sinister look appearing in his eyes.

Qin Yu whispered something to the blond youth, and then the two walked towards Lin Chen.

"So you are Lin Chen."

The blond youth said with a playful tone.

"I am. Is there something you need?"

Lin Chen replied with an indifferent expression.

He saw the blond youth's strength at a glance—Martial Artist Late Stage.

Seeing Lin Chen's indifferent expression, the blond youth's expression turned cold:

"I heard you took Qin Yu's spot. Qin Yu's father works in our Charlotte Family's expedition team."

"How about this: you compensate him 10 million, and this matter will be considered settled."

Lin Chen looked at the two of them as if they were idiots.

"Get lost!"

Lin Chen said expressionlessly.

The blond youth's face instantly turned ferocious.

"Lin Chen, this is Kelin, the young master of the Charlotte Family, one of the top ten families in the Federation's Western District."

"His Family has several Martial King Realm powerhouses holding down the fort."

"He is an A-grade Genius!"

"Lin Chen, you are truly arrogant, daring to tell Young Master Kelin to get lost."

Federal Geniuses are classified from C-grade upwards: C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS grade.

SS and SSS grades haven't appeared for over a decade.

Lin Chen was speechless looking at the two.

This is Modu Martial University, which has dozens of Martial King Realm teachers.

It is absolutely safe in the school.

Even if these powerful families were given ten times the courage, they wouldn't dare to bully the young.

As for the younger generation, he had no fear.

This stemmed from his own immense self-confidence!

"Get lost!"

Lin Chen's Aura suddenly erupted.

Kelin took two steps back, staring at Lin Chen with astonishment.

Qin Yu was directly forced to his knees by the pressure of the Aura.

Nearby students exclaimed in surprise.

"Martial Artist Late Stage, such a strong Aura."

"I wonder which big Family's Genius from the Federation this is."

After stabilizing his footing, Kelin said with a malicious smirk:

"Don't let me run into you in the Trial Grounds."

After saying this, he kicked Qin Yu.

"Useless trash."

Qin Yu quickly scrambled up and followed Kelin away.

At this moment, Chen Lanxin, wearing a red combat suit with a stunning figure, walked over and said with a smile:

"Lin Chen, you've offended a ruthless person this time."

"Kelin is a Federal A-grade Genius who has awakened a special talent ability; his strength is terrifying."

"You need to be careful during this martial examination trial."

"He cannot threaten me, don't worry."

Lin Chen said in a calm tone.

An Aura of fearlessness exuded from his body.

Chen Lanxin's eyes couldn't help but light up.

She became increasingly curious about this youth from an ordinary background.

At this moment, a voice echoed across the entire sports field.

"All students participating in the martial examination trial, prepare to board the ship and head to the Other World Trial Grounds!"

The voice was not loud, but it clearly reached everyone's ears.

Immediately, Lin Chen followed the crowd and boarded a massive spaceship.

After everyone boarded, the ship slowly lifted off.

It flew towards the massive spatial passage.

Hum~

The ship entered the swirling passage and vanished instantly.

Inside the spatial passage.

Lin Chen looked out the window as colorful streams of light constantly receded.

About ten minutes later, a bright light suddenly appeared ahead.

The ship flew out of the spatial passage, entered the Other World, and continued flying forward.

Looking out through the window, Lin Chen's expression was one of shock.

This end of the spatial passage was an endless mountain range—the Exotic Beast Mountain Range.

In the sky, three massive suns hung eerily.

Endless radiance shone upon the land.

"As expected, every time I Transmigrate to the Other World, it is night, and the Other World in my dreams is also at night."

"The Other World and Blue Planet have the same time flow rate; they also have day and night."

"Modu Martial University belongs to the Federation's Eastern District; I wonder which region of the Other World this is."

The ship continued to fly for half an hour.

Suddenly.

Within view.

A large mountain had been sliced flat at the waist.

A massive base was built upon it.

Modern buildings stood on the base, and one could vaguely see dense figures moving about.

Boom~

The ship landed on a wide, flat area.

Everyone walked out of the ship, curiously observing their surroundings.

At this moment.

A man wearing a black Advanced combat suit.

The bearded man walked up to the crowd and said with a smile.

"My name is Lu Hui, and I am the chief examiner for this martial examination trial. I am responsible for this trial."

"This is the Federation's No. 18 Base, and also Modu Martial University's trial base."

"This trial uses a point system."

"The large mountain in front of the base is the Trial Grounds."

"The Trial Grounds are divided into three major zones: the Unranked Exotic Beast Zone, the First-Order Exotic Beast Zone, and the Second-Order Exotic Beast Zone."

"Killing an Unranked Exotic Beast earns 1 point."

"First-Order Exotic Beasts are worth 10, 50, or 100 points depending on their strength."

"We will issue a point bracelet to each of you shortly. Every time you kill an Exotic Beast, the bracelet will record it."

"If you encounter danger, you can press the red button on the bracelet."

"Teachers in that zone will go to save you, but this means you will be exiting the trial early."

"There are 2,200 people in this trial, and only the top 1,000 students by points will be admitted to Modu Martial University!"

Hiss~

A series of gasps came from the students participating in the trial.

This elimination rate is too high!

"It really is hunting Exotic Beasts; I have never seen an Exotic Beast before."

"If we encounter danger, can the teachers rescue us in time?"

Many students began to worry.

"Trash, yet you still dare to come and participate in a prestigious school's trial."

Some powerful students said disdainfully.

"I only have Martial Apprentice strength and can only go to the Unranked Exotic Beast Zone; one Exotic Beast is only 1 point!"

"That's right, those Geniuses at the Martial Artist Realm can kill one First-Order Early Stage Exotic Beast which is worth ten of ours."

"What are you afraid of? There are less than a hundred people who have reached the Martial Artist Realm; we still have a chance."

After Lu Hui introduced the trial rules, everyone began to discuss.

Lin Chen's mood didn't fluctuate much.

There are only three zones in the trial, and even the most difficult Second-Order Exotic Beast Zone is somewhere he could walk through freely.

"Quiet!"

Suddenly, the bearded man shouted, and a powerful pressure surged toward them.

Lin Chen was shocked in his heart!

"This pressure... so strong, at least Martial King Late Stage."

All the students instantly quieted down.

Many with poor mental fortitude were trembling, nearly collapsing to the ground.

The bearded man looked at everyone's performance.

His eyes narrowed as he said:

"The Federation needs powerhouses who forge ahead bravely; the weak are only destined to be eliminated. If anyone wants to quit, you can quit now."

After speaking, Lu Hui scanned the 2,000-plus students present.

Many students hesitated slightly at first, but in the end, they all quickly adjusted.

After all, they were all the top three Geniuses from each city~

"Not bad."

Lu Hui nodded with satisfaction and continued:

"We will now begin distributing the trial bracelets. Students who have received their bracelets should choose their Exotic Beast Zone according to their own strength."

"The top ten in the trial will receive different rewards from the school; you can check the specific details on your bracelets."

"The timer starts from the moment you enter the trial zone; the trial duration is 8 hours."

Immediately, everyone began to receive their bracelets.

Lin Chen also received a bracelet.

"The Second-Order Exotic Beast Zone seems to not have been introduced."

"I guess the school also thinks it's impossible for anyone at the Martial Artist Realm to be able to hunt Second-Order Exotic Beasts."

Lin Chen thought to himself and began to walk towards the Second-Order Exotic Beast Zone!
