298: Real combat power

Another month passed, and Lin Chen's breakthrough finally concluded.

A ball of light, his Natal World, floated beside him.

"I'm still in the Black Pagoda, so my Natal World can only stay with me for now."

"Once I leave the Black Pagoda and return to Blue Star, that will be the safest place for it."

Looking at the ball of light, Lin Chen felt a slight aversion.

For others, the Natal World offered strong life-saving capabilities, but for him, it seemed somewhat redundant.

And it could very well become his fatal weakness!

It's important to know that even if he entered the Dream Travel state, his Natal World wouldn't follow him into it if it wasn't on his person.

If others discovered the whereabouts of his Natal World, he wouldn't escape death even if he entered the Dream Travel state!

One could say that the Natal World was the fatal weakness of all Great Emperor Realm powerhouses!

Unless he could hide his Natal World in an absolutely safe place... "Where should I put it?"

Lin Chen pondered but couldn't think of such a place.

"I'll worry about it when I get back."

Shaking his head, Lin Chen looked at the system panel.

Name: Lin Chen

Realm: Great Emperor Realm First Level + (true spirit transformation, 10% comprehension of Creation-level Great Dao to advance)

true spirit: Great Emperor Realm First Level + (Consume 100 billion stones to advance)

Golden Body: Primordial Stage Four Forging + (Consume 150 billion stones to advance)

Physical Strength: 640 Primordial Power

Great Dao (Self-created): Taiyi Great Dao (Creation) 0.1%

...Energy Points: 229 billion stones

"The Energy Points seem like a lot, but they're no longer enough to break through the Golden Body Realm."

For the Golden Body to break through, the true spirit Realm must also break through, which would require 250 billion Energy Points...

Lin Chen didn't know what the sixth trial would entail.

But from Duanmu Lei's confident demeanor earlier, it was highly likely they would face each other in direct combat during the sixth trial.

Although he had largely figured out Duanmu Lei's trump cards, he couldn't afford to be careless.

He had to face the next trial in his strongest state!

After a moment of thought, Lin Chen made up his mind: he would first raise his true spirit Realm!

If he had enough Energy Points, he would definitely choose to raise his Golden Body Realm.

With the amplification of the Grandmist Body Art, the same amount of Energy Points would yield greater benefits when used to raise the Golden Body!

After all, his 0.1% comprehension of the Creation-level Taiyi Great Dao was already stronger than the previous perfected High-Level Origin Realm Great Dao.

It's worth noting that he had spent 5 billion stones to elevate the High-Level Origin Realm Taiyi Great Dao to perfection.

Now, the Creation-level Taiyi Great Dao would surely consume a terrifying amount of Energy Points!

"Let's see how many Energy Points it takes to raise it by 1%."

Immediately, Lin Chen's mind stirred, intending to raise the Creation-level Taiyi Great Dao to just 1%.

The system then began the upgrade based on Lin Chen's thoughts.

Suddenly, countless Great Dao profound meanings appeared in the Origin Chamber space where he was located.

The profundity of these Great Dao profound meanings far exceeded his imagination; if he hadn't consumed the seven-colored exquisite flower to boost his comprehension by 300,000 times.

It's highly likely his remaining points wouldn't even be enough to exchange for the Origin Chamber...

Previously, Lin Chen had consumed the seven-colored exquisite flower, elevating his comprehension to the late Great Emperor Realm level, further amplified by the enlightenment ancient tree, dao source pill, and Origin Chamber.

That amounted to a 140,000-fold comprehension boost, and it was on top of his late Great Emperor Realm foundation!

Even with such terrifying comprehension, Lin Chen still spent 30 years to comprehend 1% of the Creation-level Taiyi Great Dao.

Looking at the energy point consumption on the system panel, even with prior mental preparation, he was stunned for a moment.

Energy Points: 175 billion stones

Calculating this way, each 1% increase would cost 60 billion Energy Points!

Compared to the High-Level Origin Realm Taiyi Great Dao, the energy point consumption directly increased by 1200 times!

Lin Chen's mouth twitched slightly, and it took him a long time to recover.

At this rate, reaching 10% would require 600 billion Energy Points, which his current Energy Points were nowhere near enough for...

"First, I'll raise my true spirit Realm."

"Then, with the remaining Energy Points, I'll upgrade the Thousand Immortals Battle Formation once!"

This was the most effective way Lin Chen could think of to boost his combat power at the moment.

Currently, each clone in the Thousand Immortals Battle Formation could amplify Great Dao Power by 100 times.

Lin Chen guessed that after the upgrade, the Great Dao Power amplified by each clone would also increase!

Lin Chen then directly consumed 150 billion Energy Points, simultaneously upgrading both the battle formation and his true spirit Realm.

Time flew by, and another thousand years passed in the Origin Chamber.

Lin Chen's true spirit finally completed its transformation.

After feeling the changes in himself, he nodded in satisfaction.

This secluded breakthrough had largely concluded; he had upgraded everything he could.

Next, Lin Chen prepared to test his true combat strength.

He then took out the Black Pagoda's intelligent assistant, navigated to the Origin Chamber operation interface, and began setting up an opponent for combat practice.

Lin Chen directly set an opponent at the Great Emperor Realm Third Level.

He wanted to first test the current combat power of his Taiyi Return to Ruins Slash.

The final result was beyond his expectations; he didn't even use the battle formation, only the Unity Secret Art, and he killed the Great Emperor Realm Third Level opponent.

Next was a Great Emperor Realm Fourth Level opponent, and the difficulty immediately jumped several levels.

With all of Lin Chen's amplifications unleashed, he could barely contend with the Great Emperor Realm Fourth Level opponent; he was suppressed throughout the entire fight...

Currently, his true combat power in martial arts barely reached the Great Emperor Realm Fourth Level.

The Great Emperor Realm Fourth Level was a huge watershed compared to the Third Level, with a significant leap in strength!

His physical combat power, after testing, was also at this level.

However, his physical combat power was comparable to the peak of the Great Emperor Realm Fourth Level!

His current Golden Body Realm was only at the Great Emperor Realm First Level, so being able to fight across three Realms through body techniques was already incredibly heaven-defying...

Lin Chen was still very satisfied with this secluded breakthrough.

From this battle, Lin Chen also discovered a problem.

That was, his previous amplification methods had been weakened!

"It should be because the Creation-level Taiyi Great Dao's base power level is too high!"

Through testing, Lin Chen realized this.

All his Great Dao might amplification multiples had decreased by a hundredfold!

For example, the High-Level Origin Realm Taiyi Return to Ruins Slash, which previously amplified by around 6000 times, had now dropped to 60 times.

The upgraded Thousand Immortals Battle Formation now allowed each clone to amplify Great Dao might by 2 times, meaning 36 clones provided 72 times amplification.

The transformed Great Emperor's Seal, on the other hand, could amplify Great Dao might by 100 times!

The amplification from weapons and the physical body also weakened by a hundredfold.

His current Primordial Stage Four Forging Golden Body could only amplify Great Dao might by 100 times.

The fifth-grade Primordial artifact he had exchanged for previously could amplify Great Dao might by 200 times.

Lin Chen had already predicted the weakening of amplifications.

After all, the Taiyi Great Dao he amplified had undergone a fundamental change in its power level.

He could accept this point because all beings, upon reaching this Realm, would find their previous amplification methods reduced.

Although the amplification multiple was smaller, the actual Great Dao might had not decreased; on the contrary, it far surpassed what it was before!

Lin Chen's Taiyi Return to Ruins Slash, when fully unleashed, could now amplify Great Dao might by 532 times!

Upon reaching the Great Emperor Realm, Lin Chen discovered that the amplification from weapons was actually the greatest.

For instance, the twelfth-grade Primordial artifacts Lin Chen knew about could directly amplify the might of Creation-level Great Dao by 3000 times!

Even if only one-tenth of such a weapon's power could be unleashed, that would still be a 300-fold amplification!

It's just that weapons of that caliber were too expensive...

Lin Chen suddenly thought of Duanmu Lei's small golden bell, and his expression became solemn.

That small bell was very likely an Eternal-level weapon, and it was a weapon with both offensive and defensive capabilities!

Previously, Duanmu Lei had a Great Emperor Realm Second Level cultivation, yet he reached the combat power level of a peak Great Emperor Realm Third Level.

It was very difficult for a Great Emperor Realm cultivator to fight across Realms.

Duanmu Lei, unlike Lin Chen, didn't have so many amplification methods.

His Great Dao Combat Skill was only at the High-Level Origin Realm Mid-Tier, and even with the amplification of the Great Emperor's Seal, it was only 140 times.

Lin Chen guessed that the small bell provided Duanmu Lei with at least a 300-fold amplification of Great Dao might!

Only then could he reach the combat power of a peak Great Emperor Realm Third Level while still at the Great Emperor Realm Second Level!

As Duanmu Lei's martial arts Realm continued to improve, he would be able to unleash even greater power from that small golden bell.

However, Duanmu Lei's Realm had regressed previously, and he had suffered severe Dao injuries, requiring a lot of resources to recover.

This time, he didn't have any followers, so his points were only 200 billion.

Breaking through the Great Emperor Realm was not that easy; the Creation-level Great Dao was too difficult!

Lin Chen, relying on several followers this time, obtained several times more points than Duanmu Lei, allowing him to exchange for the seven-colored exquisite flower, which Duanmu Lei couldn't afford.

Therefore, Duanmu Lei's speed in comprehending the Creation-level Great Dao was very slow...

Lin Chen estimated that after Duanmu Lei's seclusion this time, he would at most only recover to the Great Emperor Realm Second Level.

After all, to break through to the Great Emperor Realm Third Level, one needed to comprehend the Creation-level Great Dao to 30%...
