464: What is the Tao?

The Lord said... "Let there be light."

This is the third sentence in the opening chapter of Genesis in the Bible, a statement that reflects the power of God's creation and the authority of His words manifesting as reality.

After Li Qi achieved his Breakthrough to the Dao Source Realm, for some reason, he suddenly thought of this sentence, because his current state was extraordinarily compatible with it.

"Once a word is spoken... all Laws follow..."

Ever since Li Qi left the Lower Realm and ascended to the Upper Realm, he had experienced much along the way...

Tianyuan, divine soul, Yanfa, Realm King, Enlightenment, Unity, Reincarnation, Creation...

Unknowingly... he had actually reached the Dao Source Realm!

During this period, Li Qi had come into contact with the Laws of Heaven and Earth, from initially understanding the Laws, to later mastering the Laws...

And now, he was above the Laws!

His existence... was above the Laws!

He could distort all things in the world with just the power of his mind!

He could create Laws that did not exist at all with just a thought... or erase and modify existing Laws!

For Li Qi, the Laws were nothing more than playthings that could be modified and painted as he pleased...

Of course, under normal circumstances, for someone who had just achieved a Breakthrough to this Realm, wanting to freely erase or create Laws would still be very difficult, but Li Qi was different.

All of his Cultivation Techniques had already reached the state of Major Achievement, and if he achieved a Breakthrough to the Dao Source Realm... then he would be the strongest in the Dao Source Realm!

It had always been this way!

Li Qi had almost never lingered in the Early Stage of any Realm... he always roamed at the Peak!

After his Breakthrough to the Dao Source Realm, Li Qi felt that he was getting closer and closer to the elusive "Dao"!

What is the Dao?

"The Dao produces One, One produces Two, Two produces Three, and Three produces all things."

The Dao is the beginning of all things, and also the end of all things; it is formless and imageless, yet it runs through the beginning and end of all things.

The Dao is embodied in many Laws, but it is far above the Laws; it is something closer to a conceptual entity.

After his Breakthrough to the Dao Source Realm, Li Qi's mental power transformed into a stream of consciousness, like a waterfall flowing upstream. His thoughts and cognition rose continuously, breaking through infinite dimensions and barriers, coming into contact with that mysterious and profound "Dao"!

In the secret chamber, Li Qi sat with his eyes closed. In a trance, he was in a deep and mysterious space-time... and saw a huge and ancient book!

This... was the "Dao"!

When experts of the Dao Source Realm practice and meditate, they all have the possibility of coming into contact with the "Dao," but the Dao seen by every expert of the Dao Source Realm is different.

Some people see the Dao... as a rushing river that stretches to the end of their vision...

Why compare the Dao to a river?

Because the source of a river is long and distant, just like the endless extension of the Dao.

A river flows from its source, nourishing all things, just as the Dao gives birth to all existence and benefits all living things.

And the constant flow of a river also shows the unimpeded adaptability of the Dao...

Others see the "Dao" as an eternal star that never falls.

Because the star hangs high, its radiance guiding those who have lost their way, just as the Dao shows people the right path.

The eternal twinkling of the star, undisturbed by the mundane world, also symbolizes the eternal existence of the Dao, its wisdom shining forever.

Others see an ancient seed...

The seed contains vitality, the beginning of new life; the Dao is the same, nurturing all things and making them flourish endlessly.

Things like clouds, chessboards, or spheres of light... the Dao has ten thousand manifestations, and they are too numerous to list.

Every practitioner's understanding of the "Dao" is different, so the Dao they see... is also different.

And the Dao that Li Qi saw... was a huge and ancient book!

As Li Qi drew closer, his spiritual consciousness arrived before this huge and ancient book.

Before this book, he was so insignificant, like a speck of dust.

Seeing the Dao for the first time, Li Qi's mind was incomparably shocked.

The Dao can manifest as a huge book, ancient and heavy.

This book is extraordinary, a collection of the essence of Heaven and Earth and the principles of all things.

Its cover is simple and rustic, with mottled traces of time visible, like the history of the Dao, long and profound.

Its pages are vast and innumerable, each one carrying the secrets of Heaven and Earth, the changes of Yin and Yang, and the Reincarnation of life and death.

Although the handwriting is archaic, every word is a pearl, every line a profound truth, like the wisdom of the Dao, endless and inexhaustible.

If one were to flip through this book, it would be like stepping into the hall of the Dao, with all kinds of wonderful principles laid out before one's eyes.

"Wonderful!"

"Truly wonderful!"

Seeing the Dao for the first time, Li Qi's mind was greatly shaken; all the wonderful principles and infinite wisdom recorded in the ancient book were taken into his eyes!

Just a rough glance was enough to cause Li Qi's mind to undergo another significant transformation.

Everyone sees a different "Dao," so there are distinctions of high and low, superior and inferior.

Some people have narrow vision and shallow knowledge, viewing the Dao like looking at a leopard through a tube; they can neither see the whole picture nor avoid bias, and they might see the Dao as something like a comb or a flute.

It is simply ridiculous.

And the broader a practitioner's vision and the deeper their understanding, the more and the more complete the Dao they can glimpse, and the form of the Dao they see will also be very different.

The Dao that Li Qi saw was a huge ancient book, with infinite principles and wisdom recorded within it. To put it bluntly, this might be one of the most complete and comprehensive Daos seen by any expert in the Dao Source Realm!

"I really didn't expect that the Dao I saw... would actually be this!"
