515: A slight ripple

After arriving in the Ancient Origin Realm, Li Qi seized the window of opportunity when many Saint Kings were away, using every spare moment to improve his strength, and had now firmly established a foothold in the Domain of Saint Kings.

If he were to encounter a Sub-Saint like Qiu Chuwen again, he could take him down in a single exchange.

After establishing a foothold here, he relaxed slightly; he had collected enough creation crystal stones, converted them all into Potential Points, and saved them for future use whenever needed.

At the same time, Li Qi was pondering where to collect more Sacred Thrones; he urgently needed to deal with all the Saint Kings who came looking for trouble.

It wouldn't be too late to deal with the trouble of the Sacred Thrones after first eliminating these Saint Kings who didn't know when to die.

Li Qi had a premonition that even if the Sacred Thrones held hidden dangers, they would only erupt once all of them had been gathered.

So, hoarding seven or eight of them on his person... should be fine.

Li Qi also thought of Saint Demon; this guy lived alone in the starry wilderness, far from the eyes of all other Saint Kings, and was half-dead, making him the perfect target.

Furthermore, Li Qi had implanted a Clone of consciousness within Saint Demon to monitor his movements throughout, waiting for the very moment the other party fully recovered... to take him down.

The existence of that Clone of consciousness was meant to divert Saint Demon's power and slow down his recovery, but there was no longer any need for that, so Li Qi terminated the Clone's actions.

He now needed Saint Demon to recover quickly—the faster, the better—and he was already feeling impatient.

He couldn't wait to seize the Sacred Throne from Saint Demon and then kill this guy all over again.

An old thing that had already been dead for tens of millions of years... why bother coming back to life?

Just die in peace!

Saint Demon had truly caused Li Qi a lot of trouble, attacking him several times, so if Li Qi had the chance to kill him, he definitely wouldn't miss it.

"Brother Li? What are you thinking about?"

Just as Li Qi was pondering matters regarding Saint Demon, a voice interrupted him.

"Oh, sorry, I was just spacing out for a moment."

Li Qi replied apologetically and then punished himself with a drink.

Sitting opposite him was a man in a black shirt named Zhou Min, who was very young yet had already reached the level of a Dao Ancestor; he was a member of a prominent Family in the Ancient Origin Realm.

Zhou Min asked again, "Brother Li, how have you considered that matter?"

"My younger sister is quite fond of you, Brother Li. If you are interested... why not marry her?"

At this point, Li Qi felt a slight headache coming on.

Since arriving in the Ancient Origin Realm, he had disguised his identity; outsiders only saw him as a young Dao Ancestor, not a Saint King.

If a Saint King were to appear, others would retreat, forming a no-man's land around Li Qi; how then could he conveniently go around selling Great Dao Texts?

Only by disguising myself as an ordinary Dao Ancestor can I properly play with you all.

While Zhou Min was asking about the marriage, his younger sister, Zhou Cainan, was not far away, standing before a cluster of flowers and admiring them.

But Zhou Cainan had her body slightly turned, her pretty face flushed, and she was pricking up her ears to listen to the conversation between the two men, waiting for Li Qi's answer.

The two of them had met mainly because of business.

A few days ago, while Li Qi was out running business and selling Great Dao Texts, he found a large shop.

After they reached a deal, the shop owner invited Li Qi to attend a poetry gathering, offering to host him and share some drinks.

Because that poetry gathering... was hosted by this very shop.

At the time, Li Qi had nothing better to do, and the location of the poetry gathering was quite close, so he went.

He was treated as an honored guest and well looked after.

After a few drinks, Li Qi felt a bit inspired and casually recited a few fancy lines from his past life, stunning everyone present and earning their praise for his literary talent.

Quite a few women at the poetry gathering were particularly taken with Li Qi.

Zhou Cainan was one of them, and the most persistent one at that, having pestered Li Qi for several days now.

Li Qi felt a slight headache regarding this, wondering if the girl was too single-minded and simply couldn't turn the corner.

It was just a few lousy poems; was it really worth fixating on him like this?

No matter how bold a girl might be, some things were still hard to say, so Zhou Cainan had enlisted her brother to meet with Li Qi, where the subject of marriage was brought up.

Zhou Min figured that Li Qi's apparent strength was not weak, and being such a young Dao Ancestor, he was worthy of his sister; since she was interested, he might as well play matchmaker.

But Li Qi shook his head with a bitter smile, "I am afraid I must disappoint you regarding your sister's kind intentions."

"I am already married and have a wife waiting at home..."

Before Li Qi could finish, he was interrupted by Zhou Min.

"That's fine, my sister can be a concubine."

Li Qi nearly spat out his drink; these two siblings were too fierce, and he almost couldn't handle it.

Seeing Li Qi still shaking his head with a bitter smile, Zhou Cainan, not far away, turned pale, then smiled self-deprecatingly, though her smile held a trace of misery as she turned and left on her own.

Watching Zhou Cainan's lonely figure as she left, Li Qi felt helpless in his heart; his current name and appearance were both fake, and he had no small amount of trouble on his hands.

There were too many Saint Kings watching him and searching for him everywhere.

Once things erupted one day, with over a dozen Saint Kings fighting, the scene would be too intense and dangerous; others would be running for their lives, so how could he let Zhou Cainan jump into that whirlpool?

"Silly girl, this is for your own good; don't blame me..."
