391: Three major scams for newbies: Crocodile Knife

“These crocodile hides… if I used a knife next time, couldn’t I take them out and sell them?”

Xiao Yun rubbed his chin, pondering deeply as he looked at the crocodile carcasses on the ground.

It was well known that crocodile hides were extremely expensive in reality, and like Diamond jewelry, they also varied by species and grade. An ordinary crocodile hide could sell for tens of thousands, while rarer, higher-quality ones could fetch hundreds of thousands or even millions.

The crocodiles in this restricted zone were rare species not found in reality. Since these crocodiles were products of the restricted zone and not real-world species, taking them out to sell was completely legal.

Therefore, Xiao Yun estimated that a perfectly intact crocodile hide could sell for at least several hundred thousand as a baseline!

This was still his estimate as someone unfamiliar with the trade; the actual price might be even higher!

However, logically speaking, he probably wasn't the first person in this world to think of doing this.

Perhaps there was already a complete industry, with skilled operatives bringing experts in crocodile hide processing into the restricted zone, then specifically hunting in every map area with crocodiles, processing the hides on the spot, taking them out, and then selling them.

Anyway, this was definitely a lucrative path.

“I never thought that what was one of the biggest scams for new players in my previous life could actually come true in this world!”

Thinking of this, Xiao Yun sighed inwardly.

In his previous life, if a new player got into Delta, the veteran player introducing them would inevitably trick them into knifing crocodiles.

The common rhetoric was that knifing crocodiles would drop equipment and big red, basically, there were all sorts of benefits to knifing them.

Under normal circumstances, an ordinary new player might very well believe it, and then be directly bitten by a crocodile with a red-rage W, followed by a Q skill for a death roll.

But if the new player was cautious and smart, they would ask why they had to use a knife. Couldn't they use a gun?

At this point, veteran players generally could only offer one common answer.

“Are you stupid! If you shoot a crocodile with a gun, the hide will be ruined! Only by using a knife can you get a complete crocodile hide!”

And once this explanation was given, even the smartest new player would fall into the veteran players’ trap.

After all, veteran players had used this line to trick new players more than once or twice.

When their confident, calm voices saying to knife crocodiles reached the new players' headphones, all the new players would scroll and switch to their default small knife.

Then, after three seconds, the veteran players would hear a shocked scream.

“Hey! Why am I down?!”

As for why Xiao Yun knew so clearly, whether he was the veteran player who tricked the newbies or the new player who was deceived...

Let's just say, those who know, know.

“Xiao Yun, what are you examining?”

Just then, Liu Shihhan seemed to have calmed Lu Xueqing down. She walked over to Xiao Yun, holding down her short skirt with her right hand to prevent exposure, then squatted beside him.

“I’m looking at this crocodile hide. It’s a pity…”

“A pity?”

“Yes, such a good crocodile hide. I wish I hadn’t used a gun.”

“Oh, that’s true.”

Hearing Xiao Yun’s words, Liu Shihhan also felt a deep regret, letting out a soft sigh.

However, in the next second, she seemed to notice something strange. She reached out and flipped up the crocodile’s eyes, then pulled out a lighter, using its flame to illuminate its eyeballs.

“Something’s definitely wrong…”

Liu Shihhan frowned slightly, speaking slowly.

Hearing this, Xiao Yun quickly looked towards the crocodile’s eyes.

He saw that the eyes of this unknown species of crocodile from the restricted zone, whether due to bloodshot or some other reason, were not the normal yellowish or amber color, but a chilling, vivid red.

Even though the crocodile was already dead, seeing its crimson eyeballs sent a shiver down Xiao Yun’s spine.

“Is it bloodshot because it’s dead?”

Xiao Yun asked uncertainly.

“No, I actually noticed it at first glance. The red light flickering in its eyes then, but the lighting was dim, so I wasn’t too sure.”

Liu Shihhan said quietly.

“I’m sorry, Master, I’m sorry, Shihan. I was too emotional just now and almost caused a huge disaster…”

At this moment, Lu Xueqing had finally calmed down and walked behind the two of them.

“Huh! What are you doing? This crocodile is so scary, and you’re still messing with it!”

When Lu Xueqing saw their actions, she suddenly felt shivers all over her body.

After a period of fruitless observation, Xiao Yun and Liu Shihhan also couldn't think of any useful information, and stood up simultaneously.

“Don’t run off on your own next time.” Liu Shihhan smiled.

“Mhm, mhm! Oh, by the way, Master, where is that high-value resource point you mentioned?”

Lu Xueqing looked around, but didn't see any resource points, which immediately made her curious.

Just then, Xiao Yun suddenly put his index finger to his lips, making a shushing gesture.

“Shhh—!”

The Crocodile Nest immediately fell silent. Liu Shihhan and Lu Xueqing were on edge, not knowing what he was about to do.

However, in the next second, they only saw an Asala Squad walking onto the bridge from the other side, shining their lights.

As soon as their figures approached, the three of them simultaneously heard their discussions.

“They’re making us watch this wilderness again, it’s so annoying!”
