141: Chapter 143 Human Torpedo and the Kiss of Physics
The five approaching red light dots on the radar suddenly dispersed.
A row of alien text warnings with decryption delays popped up on the left side of the holographic screen.
The opponent's secondary laser cannons had finished their energy accumulation and preheating.
The Scout Ship closest to the Black Axe Frigate had already cut into the firing baseline; several red and purple light beams carrying high-frequency pulses grazed the armor plating on the port side of the ship, leaving short ion distortion trails in the vacuum.
A corner of the stealth coating armor stripped from the enemy ship was grazed.
No explosion occurred; that section of armor simply vaporized under the ultra-high temperature.
The underlying Void Repair Gel was exposed, instantly scorched black and hard, yet it still bit firmly into the surrounding gaps.
In the cockpit, the piercing [Armor Penetration Warning] mixed with the [Engine Output Overload] prompt, turning into a chaotic mess of sound.
Li Cang didn't look at those red pop-up windows.
He pulled the manual lever on the console, which was connected to the oil line valve, directly to the bottom dead zone.
The five hundred units of [High-Energy Compressed Fuel Rods] in the material bank had their current limiters cut by the underlying Servitors, pouring like a flood into that mutated Warp Gravity Warp Engine.
The engine's ghostly blue glow instantly turned into a violent dark red.
An extremely ferocious propulsive force was transmitted directly to every compartment through the ship's crudely built keel.
Without performing any evasive route calculations, the Black Axe charged straight ahead, facing those red lights of probing fire.
The target was locked onto the largest Cruiser in the center of those five ships.
It was a high-tech creation nearly a kilometer long.
Inside the Cruiser's command tower, the alien Commander's six tentacles were stuck to a streamlined neural induction sphere.
"Target acceleration exceeds conventional logic calculation." A string of anxious electrical sparks erupted from the adjutant's data tube.
"He hasn't deployed his Energy Shield! He's actively cutting into our main cannon's firing range!"
The alien Commander's compound eye pupils contracted violently.
This kind of suicidal linear charge was an absolutely non-existent, foolish operation in the doctrines of interstellar warfare.
Charging head-on against a wall of fire without an Energy Shield would only result in being focused down and turned into floating space junk halfway there.
"All main cannons fire, shatter this madman." The alien Commander issued the extermination order through the neural sphere.
The three heavy Particle Accelerator Cannons on the Cruiser's belly began to emit a lethal, bright white glow.
Just one second before the fire control radar was about to complete its lock-on.
A visible spatial distortion phenomenon suddenly erupted from the bow of the Black Axe Frigate.
Li Cang had forcibly triggered the hidden characteristic of the [Warp Gravity Warp Engine (Mutated)] using a massive amount of high-energy Fuel.
[Characteristic 1: Gravity Tear].
This wasn't a weapon used for attacking; it was originally a point-defense repulsive force field designed for this Archmagos-level engine during conventional navigation to avoid colliding with tiny meteorites.
But after being forcibly stripped of its underlying restrictions by the cyber AI, this repulsive force field was pulled into a miniature gravity collapse trap.
The Gravity Tear field reached out and 'licked' the Cruiser's thin layer of Energy Shield before the particle beams could fire.
The shield generator let out an overburdened shriek.
The originally smooth Energy Shield was forcibly torn open with a hole by the massive gravity that appeared out of thin air.
The solid metal ram of the Axe Frigate, forged from the bases of four anti-aircraft towers, smashed ruthlessly into this hole.
This was a pure physical kiss, devoid of any aesthetic sense.
There was no suspense.
The honeycomb composite armor on the outer layer of the Cruiser, designed to defend against high-energy rays, was as fragile as paper before this crude, hard lump of iron.
Carrying tens of thousands of tons of dead weight and the kinetic energy of its high-speed charge, the ram directly tore open the enemy ship's broadside.
The ear-piercing sound of metal snapping traveled all the way to the Cruiser's deepest control room.
The two ships of vastly different sizes were deathly stuck together.
The Axe Frigate's ram had embedded itself deeply into the Cruiser's third maintenance deck; the recoil generated at the moment of impact caused the lights inside the Axe to flicker wildly.
Air inside the Cruiser began to pour frantically out into outer space through the torn armor gap.
Hundreds of alien crew members in tight-fitting uniforms scrambled to find fixed handles; some were sucked directly out of the cabin by the back-flowing air, turning into a burst of blood mist in space.
The alien Commander's neural induction sphere fell off during the impact; his six tentacles gripped the edge of the command console tightly, his two compound eyes staring in horror at the black spike deeply inserted into his own flank on the holographic screen.
"Close the anti-leak airlocks in the damaged area!" The Commander's tentacles tapped frantically on the backup panel.
"Mobilize all Guardian-model Combat Mechs to the third deck!"
"Melt this broken ship off of our wound!"
His orders had just reached the lower compartments.
Below the solid ram of the Black Axe Frigate, which was deeply stuck inside the Cruiser, six originally closed circular hatch covers popped open without warning.
Those were the six waste discharge ports Li Cang had intentionally left when building the ship.
Now, these discharge ports had become torpedo launch tubes.
Inside the cockpit.
Li Cang's finger pressed heavily on the red cursor on the holographic projection representing the low-level ejection command.
No live torpedoes were launched.
No high-explosive ammunition was loaded.
The countdown for the six ejection pods hit zero instantly.
The high-pressure pneumatic ejectors let out a deafening roar.
Six Astartes, wearing pure black Masterwork Armor and standing over two meters tall, were shot out like six solid cannonballs by the massive thrust, directly following those opened hatch covers.
This was the most unreasonable boarding tactic in the Warhammer system.
Using people as cannonballs.
Recruits Number Eight through Thirteen activated the Magnetic Adsorption Systems on the soles of their armor mid-air.
Six dull thuds exploded in succession along the corridors of the Cruiser's third deck.
Their boots locked firmly onto the metal floor of the foreign ship; the massive kinetic energy crushed several lighting conduits beneath the floor.
The corridor lights went out.
Only the faint red light from the emergency indicator lamps flickered.
The dozens of Guardian-model Combat Mechs mobilized by the alien Commander had just rushed out from the elevator shaft at the other end.
These mechs were slender, holding high-frequency ion cutting guns; they were originally designed to guard against small-scale special infiltrations or handle internal ship riots.
They had never seen monsters like the Astartes.
Recruit Number Eight raised the Electromagnetic Acceleration Bolter in his hands.
The butt of the gun was pressed firmly into his shoulder socket, which had long since lost the sense of pain.
The muzzle erupted in a ball of scorching orange.
A depleted uranium bolt shell, accelerated through three coils, directly pierced the head analyzer of the leading mech; the projectile's momentum remained unchecked, hitting the bulkhead behind it and triggering a secondary explosion.
The headless wreck of the mech slumped down, ghostly blue coolant spraying from the neck stump.
This wasn't an infiltration.
This couldn't even be called a battle.
This was a one-sided clearing massacre.
The narrow space of the corridor left these agile alien mechs with nowhere to hide.
Six black iron towers holding Bolters pushed forward in a fan-shaped formation.
The deafening gunfire drowned out the Cruiser's already chaotic alarms.
The mechs' weak armor was shredded like newspaper by the large-caliber bolt shells, with fragmented metal parts and circuit boards spitting electrical sparks scattered all over the floor.
In a dozen seconds.
The end of the corridor was piled high with mechanical wreckage.
The Bolters ran dry.
Recruit Number Nine slung his gun back onto his back and smoothly pulled out the High-Frequency Chainsword at his waist.
His thumb pressed the power switch down hard.
The Chainsword ramped up to maximum RPM amidst a piercing roar of the motor.
The remaining alien crew members hid around the corner of the corridor, shivering as they held their self-defense charged pistols.
They watched these six black behemoths approaching step by step, carrying buzzing killing machines in their hands and treading over the floor full of mech wreckage.
The most primitive human fear completely crushed their proud high-civilization interstellar composure.
Someone began to scream.
Someone dropped their gun and turned to run.
The cold teeth of the Chainsword bit into the flesh and bone of a different civilization's planet without a shred of mercy.
Severed limbs flew wildly in the enclosed cabin; the pungent smell of blood mixed with the smell of engine oil, quickly filling the entire third deck.
In the main control room of the alien flagship.
On the large screen, rows of green cursors representing the vital signs of combat personnel were turning into gray lines of death at a terrifying speed.
"They are cutting through the isolation door to the second power room!" The adjutant's voice carried a desperate sob.
"Let's detonate the reactor and perish together with them!"
The alien Commander ignored the adjutant's shouting.
He looked at the other four friendly red dots on the radar that were still flanking them.
His fleet was still there.
As long as they pulled back the distance, as long as they didn't fight this damn close-quarters combat.
"Initiate the escape separation procedure." The Commander calmly issued the order to sacrifice the pawn to save the king.
"Eject the entire command cabin above the third deck, and have the remaining four ships open fire—shatter our chassis along with that broken ship!"
He didn't hesitate for a second; his nerve endings bypassed manual operation to forcibly cut the connection bolt locking program between the upper and lower hull.
The top of the main control room began to vibrate.
This was the physical feedback of the independent escape module activating.
But he didn't get away.
In the cockpit, Li Cang had been monitoring the other party's unencrypted physical escape lock signals on the highest authority channel.
In the 0.01 seconds before the upper and lower layers of the Cruiser were about to separate.
Li Cang clicked on another trump card he had prepared long ago in the civilization forge interface.
[Tournament Universal Coordinate Guidance Anchor Blueprint (Can be used to locate the next safe zone transition point)].
This was an inanimate blueprint that had just dropped from the first kill.
But Li Cang didn't use it as a coordinate anchor.
He took this system item, which could forcibly anchor spatial physical coordinates, and slapped it across the junction of the Axe Frigate's ram and the enemy ship's chassis.
The power of system rules descended.
The enemy command cabin escape module, which was in the middle of a forced separation, was deathly welded to its original position like instantly poured quick-dry cement.
No matter how the alien Commander cut the connection bolts, the bow simply would not detach from the chassis.
An extremely teeth-gritting sound of metal cutting came from the heavy isolation cabin door outside the corridor.
The teeth of the High-Frequency Chainsword, amidst sparks, cut directly through the half-meter-thick alloy door panel.
A black giant covered in the purple blood of aliens kicked open the damaged cabin door.
The Astartes walked into the main control room with the heavy footfalls of combat boots.
He didn't look at the crew members who were slumped on the floor in terror, heading straight for the alien Commander on the high platform.
The Commander's six tentacles flailed wildly, trying to raise a self-defense pistol.
The Astartes' Chainsword traced an extremely brutal arc through the air.
The six tentacles, along with that refined pistol, were all sliced off cleanly; purple blood splashed like a fountain onto the console screens.
A large, bowl-sized hand in a masterwork gauntlet directly gripped the Commander's compound-eyed head, lifting him bodily off the platform.
All resistance inside the flagship ceased completely at that moment.
On the radar panel.
The remaining four enemy ships had completed their fire envelopment, their main cannons aimed directly at this captured Cruiser and the Black Axe stuck to it.
They did not fire.
Electronic inquiries filled with suspicion and uncertainty from the four ship Commanders came through the friendly channel.
Li Cang sat in the cockpit, looking at those flickering red dots.
He didn't order the Astartes to retreat, nor did he activate defenses.
Through the external speaker on the armor of the Astartes who was gripping the enemy Commander's head, he connected to the communication channel of those four enemy ships.
"Don't be in such a hurry to fire." A cold, hard voice with a hint of madness spread through the silent space.
"This ship is my spare battery now."
"If you dare to break my charging port..."
The Astartes' hand suddenly exerted force.
The alien Commander's head was squeezed until it exploded right before everyone's eyes on the high-definition broadcast screen.
"...I'll have you turned into torpedoes and stuffed into the launch tubes too."
