35: The girl was actually a shelter

Against the backdrop of the burly man's wails, the sight of blood completely ignited the panic among the crowd.

Their gazes, which had originally been indifferent or gloating, instantly shattered, consumed by shock and fear.

“Sarilang, Sarilang!”

Some D-level Personnel shouted and screamed like this.

Meng Yun gently gripped the bed frame.

A metal rod instantly deformed into a hammer.

He held the hammer, swung it in his hand, and felt that its momentum was completely inferior to his small wooden sword.

With the hammer in his hand, the entire room instantly fell silent.

Firepower is always the highest deterrent, especially from a ruthless person like Meng Yun who doesn't waste words and just gets straight to it.

The burly man on the bed now had a distorted face, and his lips trembled as he began to beg for mercy:

“Big brother, grandpa! Please spare me, just spare me!”

If his hands hadn't been bound by the iron frame, he might have slapped himself twice to show remorse.

Meng Yun waved his hand casually, silently dissolving the iron rod that had pierced his thigh, but he did not open the iron cage that bound the burly man.

Even so, the burly man was still profusely grateful, repeatedly murmuring, “Thank you, grandpa, thank you, grandpa…”

A terrifying atmosphere gradually permeated the air, and everyone had already conflated Meng Yun with those mysterious and unpredictable containment objects.

The Foundation wouldn't be so deranged as to lock them in with containment objects, right?!

“Clang, clang, clang!”

The sound of metal rods hitting the dormitory door rang out; it turned out to be Foundation personnel who had rushed over upon hearing the commotion.

The locked door opened, and security personnel wearing black uniforms, holding electric batons, and with pistols strapped to their waists, entered.

He surveyed his surroundings; everyone retreated, revealing Meng Yun standing in the center with a hammer in his hand.

The security guard glanced at Meng Yun’s chest badge: “9527, are you causing trouble?”

“He took my spot.” Meng Yun lightly raised his hammer, pointing to the cage on his bed.

The security guard followed the indication and his indifferent pupils suddenly contracted.

The iron frame, as if forcibly twisted into shape by an external force, was meticulously pieced together into a cage, and imprisoned within it was a bloodied person!

This person was even a well-known troublemaker!

However, seeing his current pale and trembling pathetic state, it was clear he had been completely subdued by Meng Yun.

The security guard walked to the front of the cage, tapped it with his electric baton, and listening to the thudding sound, a strange look flashed in his eyes.

“This is…?”

“Alchemy,” Meng Yun said expressionlessly.

Only Alchemy could change the state of matter without a trace, but this was merely the most rudimentary application of Alchemy!

Advanced Alchemy could transform elements at will, achieving synthesis or decomposition from nothingness!

Facing the gazes around him, which held both implicit expectation and fear, the security guard pondered in silence.

He knew that the other D-level Personnel must be hoping to punish 9527, and even have 9527 removed from here.

Only then could their mediocre and boring dark lives continue.

But the security guard did not do so.

He merely glanced at Meng Yun, then slowly nodded: “No killing.”

For an Alchemist, even if he was just a mere D-level Personnel, it was enough to garner his attention.

Due to his authority, the most the security guard could do was this much protection.

The security guard closed the door and left.

The D-level collective dormitory was silent.

Meng Yun looked at the countless complex gazes around him, then turned around expressionlessly.

Alchemy was activated, and countless bed frames were drawn from him, condensing into a spacious, luxurious, pure black bed.

He randomly selected a few unlucky people, took their mattresses, and thus, Meng Yun had a soft and comfortable iron-frame bed in the D-level dormitory.

No one dared to step forward.

In these people's established perception, an Arcanist who could easily use Arcane could naturally also kill them at will.

However, the truth was that Meng Yun had not yet mastered any offensive Arcane.

But defensive Arcane was already maxed out.

Meng Yun casually conjured a spell on the bed, easily creating a defensive counter-attack Arcane array.

As long as someone other than him used more than ten kilograms of force, they would suffer ten times the force in return…

Wait, if this learned spell was slightly modified, wouldn't it become an offensive spell?

Meng Yun pondered for a moment, silently lowering the trigger force to one hundred grams and designing the counter-attack force to a thousand times.

This was the limit his current sanity could achieve.

As soon as he finished setting it up, a roommate walked over, seemingly wanting to show goodwill.

His fingertip gently reached out, and Meng Yun's expression slightly changed: “Stop!”

“Bang!”

As if struck by a giant hammer, the roommate grunted, stumbled back a few steps, and sat on the ground with a thud.

His face was pale, blood rushed to his head, and he looked shaken.

Meng Yun silently raised the trigger force to one kilogram and lowered the counter-attack force to one hundred times.

This way, he shouldn't accidentally injure anyone.

【You, relying on your powerful Alchemy abilities, became the invisible king of the D-level dormitory after a minor lesson, with no one daring to question your status or challenge your authority】

【You settled down in the dormitory, and for three consecutive days, no work arrangements were given to you. Strangely, two personnel consistently went out for work every day, but neither of them returned】

【Panic began to spread throughout the dormitory. You finally realized that the labor reform for D-level Personnel was indeed as others said, extremely dangerous, with almost no one surviving】

【Half a month passed in a blink of an eye, and no new personnel had been added. At this time, only you and another roommate remained in the collective dormitory】

“9527, 6496, you two come out.”

The sound of heavy boots stopped outside the dormitory, and the security guard’s voice came through.

The iron door swung open.

Although the iron door couldn't contain Meng Yun, he had never thought of escaping. What was challenging the Foundation's authority with a mortal body if not courting death?

Meng Yun, expressionless, was the first to exit.

The security guard had already become familiar with Meng Yun; as the two passed each other, he whispered to Meng Yun:

“9527, good luck.”

Meng Yun gave an almost imperceptible nod to this faint goodwill: “Thank you.”

Although the scene was incredibly realistic, a Simulator was just a Simulator. Mere death? He wasn't afraid.

The key issue was to quickly uncover the mysteries of this world and find out why the Simulator made him descend.

The Pudu Sentient Beings Simulator naturally needed suffering sentient beings waiting for him to save them.

Standing in the corridor made of Mithril, Meng Yun finally saw other staff members besides the security personnel.

They were B-level Personnel wearing orange-yellow uniforms. Two B-level investigators held white protective suits and tossed one to Meng Yun and 6496 each.

“Put them on. Your task today is to test various indicators of the containment object Calamity Witch. Upon completion, your D-level status will be revoked, and you can return to society.”

6496’s face lit up with joy: “So that means the other roommates who didn’t come back have seen the light of day! I should have started working sooner!”

Meng Yun looked at the B-level Personnel’s expressions and remained silent.

Return to society after completing the tests?

It was likely no one could complete them at all!

More accurately, no one could complete them alive!

Meng Yun silently put on the white protective suit in the disinfection room.

Passing through the disinfection room, he arrived in a spotless white space.

There were no light sources, yet the place was as bright as day, as if illuminated by a shadowless lamp.

It must be some kind of illuminating Arcane.

Unfortunately, Meng Yun couldn’t see the spell from the inside, so he couldn’t replicate it.

“Click!”

The heavy door was closed from the disinfection room, and Meng Yun and 6496 were thus sealed inside, empty-handed and clueless.

“Isn’t it supposed to be testing indicators? Where are the instruments? What are the steps?” 6496 murmured.

Meng Yun’s ear twitched slightly; his excellent sanity allowed his perception to be dozens of times sharper than an ordinary person’s.

As Meng Yun’s gaze followed, in the very center of the space, an isolation door suddenly opened from the floor.

A coffin-like device slowly rose.

The coffin lid trembled violently.

The coffin lid couldn't hold it anymore.

Bang!

The coffin lid bid farewell to Newton.

A pale, slender arm reached out from the coffin, gripping the side, and a young girl in a black Lolita dress slowly sat up.

Meng Yun had been watching her the entire time.

Until he met eyes again with the golden eyes of that silver-haired, long-eared girl.

Containment object?

Calamity Witch?

It was her!
