410: Chapter 410 Floating Island Sinks into the Starry Sky, Another Legend Becomes a Mystery

The deep, boundless Void Realm was like an infinite pitch-black curtain, swallowing all sound and light that attempted to penetrate it.

With his hands behind his back, Zhou Wannian stepped onto invisible stairs condensed from the Great Perfection Space Law, walking steadily toward the deeper reaches of the Universe. His simple green cloth robe, washed until it was pale, flapped loudly in the violent turbulent flows of the Void Realm.

Behind him, that once-insufferable high-dimensional tumor—which had treated countless low-dimensional worlds as fishponds—was performing the most magnificent and cruel death scene in the Universe.

Zhou Wannian did not look back, but his Divine Soul perception, as vast as an abyss, clearly captured every detail of the destruction behind him.

Losing the suppression of the Extraterrestrial Angler's trans-dimensional computing power and the forced restraint of the Great Furnace of Creation's core Formation eye, the Immortal-Demon Great World—a deformed celestial body pieced together from the wreckage of countless discarded worlds—finally headed toward total disintegration.

"Crack—Boom!"

The ear-piercing sound of spatial fractures followed the vibrations of the Void Realm, transforming into a dull roar that acted directly upon the Divine Soul.

A vast expanse of black continental bedrock was forcibly torn in two from the center under the impact of two utterly repulsive Laws. At the fracture, magma that had been compressed in the depths of the mantle for countless eons roared forth like billions of furious fire Dragons. The crimson pillars of fire soared into the sky, completely igniting the layer of dark purple haze that had lingered year-round.

Pure Immortal Clear Qi and tyrannical Nine Nether Devilish Qi transformed into two irreconcilable mortal enemies in this world-destroying collapse.

White immortal light turned into a sky-filling storm of sharp sword blades, indiscriminately cutting everything in sight; black Devilish Flame turned into a viscous sea of corrosion, frantically swallowing the remaining radiance of the Formations. Every collision between the two forces in mid-air triggered dazzling energy explosions, blasting out plasma fireballs tens of thousands of miles in diameter.

The firelight reflected on Zhou Wannian's handsome and easygoing face, flickering between light and shadow.

He felt the scorching airwaves surging from behind. The pungent smell of blood, antiseptic, and scorched engine oil lingering at the tip of his nose was being stripped away and scattered bit by bit by the characteristic cold and silence of the Void Realm's turbulence.

The massive cluster of floating islands began to fall.

Those Jade Pools and water pavilions carved entirely from top-grade jade, where immortal music had lingered all day, and those Demonic Path Altars stacked with the bones of billions of living beings and rolling with blood year-round, now lost all buoyancy.

They collided and crushed each other in mid-air. The crisp sound of jade shattering and the dull sound of bones snapping intertwined, playing a chaotic death knell. Millions of tons of architectural debris, mixed with the red mist of evaporated blood, shot out frantically in all directions like a reverse meteor shower.

Bizarre colors intertwined wildly in this starry sky, then quickly dimmed.

The turbulence of the Void Realm is the most ruthless scavenger in the Universe. It has no temperature, no mercy.

The gushing crimson magma, upon leaving the protection of the Immortal-Demon Great World's Laws and contacting the absolute zero environment of the Void Realm, solidified and extinguished in an instant. A thick layer of grayish-white frost quickly formed on the surface of the dazzling fireballs; what was once scorching liquid rock became fragile, cold, dead matter.

Immediately after, the violent wind blades of the Void Realm whistled past.

"Bang."

The frozen magma boulders were sliced by the wind blades, shattering into fine dust that filled the sky.

The entire Immortal-Demon Great World was like a sand sculpture smashed by a heavy hammer, irresistibly falling apart under the washing of the Void Realm storm.

Those deep gray metal walls covered in Truth Realm geometric codes and the thick pipes used to transport the world's Origin also grew dim and lusterless after losing their energy supply. They were carried away by the fractured continental plates, deviating from their original operational orbits.

Sinking.

An irrecoverable sinking.

The largest fragments of the continent, having lost their gravitational anchors, began to fall toward the very bottom of the starry sky—that deep abyss from which even light could not escape.

Their massive bulks tumbled slowly through the Void Realm. With every roll, they shed vast amounts of soil, rubble, metal parts, and withered bones. These remains were like a giant whale that had died in the deep sea, undergoing a long demise known as a 'whale fall,' except that what it gave back was not vitality, but endless cold and silence.

The firelight extinguished bit by bit, and the aftershocks of the explosions gradually subsided.

That vast space, which had once been occupied by a high-dimensional tumor, was refilled by darkness. Only countless fine meteorite belts remained, drifting and colliding aimlessly under the influence of the Void Realm's turbulence.

Once, this place was the nightmare of countless living beings across the myriad worlds.

The transparent threads descending from the sky were like the noose of the Grim Reaper, silently tightening around the necks of vibrant worlds. The high-and-mighty rulers sat on dark gold thrones here, indifferently watching the struggles of the beings in the Lower Realm, turning the blood and tears of billions into the nourishment for their immortality and into data within the cold optical computers of the Truth Realm.

How high and mighty, how insufferable they were.

Their prestige had even become a forbidden legend in many superior Major Thousand Worlds. Any existence that dared to pry into this place would be crushed into pulp by that terrifying army of half-immortals and half-demons.

But today, all of that was over.

There was no protracted war between gods and demons, no tragic slaughter of millions.

All there was was a passing scholar wearing a green cloth robe and cloth shoes.

He disliked the foul smell here and found the methods used here crude. So, he knocked on the door, slapped a few faces, crushed a few pieces of scrap metal, and waved his sleeves.

Then, this unimaginably massive high-dimensional nest with its unfathomable foundations was cleanly and decisively erased from the map of the Universe.

Not even many ruins were left; everything was eaten clean by the turbulence of the Void Realm.

Zhou Wannian stopped in his tracks.

He slowly turned around, facing the starry sky that had completely fallen into darkness.

The Immortal-Demon Great World, which had previously occupied his entire field of vision, had now completely vanished. Only a few broken boulders covered in frost remained, spinning lonely in the distance, falling into the depths.

This half-page of history belonging to the Immortal-Demon Great World was forcibly torn out by him, crumpled into a ball, and tossed into the trash bin of time.

A high-dimensional legend that had once struck terror into countless dimensions had, within these few ordinary steps, completely turned into a mystery that future generations could never verify.

Who destroyed the Immortal-Demon Great World?

What earth-shattering supreme Divine Ability was used to destroy it?

The other high-dimensional forces that survived, and the explorers who occasionally passed through this part of the starry sky, would surely have countless guesses filled with awe and fear when they saw this empty, dead Void Realm.

They might think it was a punishment from the Universe's Origin Will, or perhaps some indescribable forbidden existence had escaped from within the Taiwu Ancestral Court.

But no one would ever imagine that the one who performed such a world-ending feat was merely a leisurely traveler who was afraid of trouble and afraid of getting dirty.

Zhou Wannian looked at that dead starry sky.

In those eyes, as deep as ancient wells, there was not the slightest hint of arrogance or pride from having wiped out a high-dimensional power.

He slowly raised his hands and lightly patted them together twice in front of his chest.

Then, he dusted off the sides of his pale green cloth robe.

His movements were slow and natural.

It was as if he hadn't just gone to slaughter gods and destroy a world, but had merely visited a dusty old woodshed in the countryside and was habitually brushing away the cobwebs and dust he'd picked up after coming out.

Not a single leaf clung to him.

What the Great Perfection Space Law granted him was not just that Absolute Mass that crushed everything, but an absolute transcendence that existed outside of all Karma, Karmic Obstruction, and Laws.

The overwhelming Karmic Obstruction generated by the collapse of the Immortal-Demon Great World, the Karmic entanglements of countless dead souls, and even a single minute particle of metal dust failed to land on the corner of his robe.

He came cleanly and left refreshingly.

"The mess is cleaned up, and the air is indeed much fresher."

Zhou Wannian lowered his hands and placed them behind his back.

He took a deep breath of the characteristic, impurity-free cold air within the Void Realm's turbulence.

Deep within his Sea of Consciousness, the ancient star map he had rubbed from the dark gray broken monument was emitting a faint, eerie glow. That fragmented coordinate, wrapped in layers of dimensional mist and isolated without help, was like a beating heart, pointing the way to the next destination.

Taiwu Ancestral Court.

The forbidden zone of life that those tin cans from the Truth Realm dreamed of cracking.

The place where he had casually left a Seal back then.

"Since you all care so much about the things inside, as a guide, I should head over and take a look first."

Zhou Wannian withdrew his gaze, no longer paying attention to the sinking ruins.

He turned around, his spotless green cloth shoes stepping steadily onto the invisible stairs of the Void Realm.

His green robe fluttered.

Accompanied by those unhurried, leisurely, and steady footsteps, Zhou Wannian's figure merged into the starry sea like a drop of water into the ocean, silently vanishing into the vast and deep reaches of the stars.

Everything seemed to return to tranquility.

The turbulence of the Void Realm continued to follow the most ancient Laws of the Universe, whistling and weaving through this vast space that had lost its obstacles.

An unknown number of millions of miles away from the direction Zhou Wannian had departed, at the very bottom of the starry sky.

This was a void abyss where gravity completely failed and light was absolutely forbidden.

The massive amount of wreckage generated after the collapse of the Immortal-Demon Great World had ultimately sunk to this place.

Huge fragments of continental plates, shattered bone palaces, and broken immortal sword blades were all frozen into lifeless blocks of ice by the extreme cold of the Void Realm, floating quietly in the darkness.

No living thing could survive here. Even a microbe would be stripped of all Life Qi in an instant.

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Deep within this sea of icy wreckage, there was a massive dark gray metal fragment.

The surface of this fragment was covered in charred burn marks and terrifying tears. One could vaguely recognize that it had once been part of the core control console of the Great Furnace of Creation deep underground.

The fragment floated quietly between two huge, cold rocks.

Time lost its meaning here.

It was unknown whether an instant or a year had passed.

Suddenly.

"Hum..."

A vibration as thin as a thread, which even the surrounding Void Realm turbulence could not cover, sounded from within the charred metal fragment.

Immediately following.

In a deep crack in the fragment, a faint, grayish-white cold light flickered to life like a candle in the wind.

This light had no temperature and carried no aura of life. It possessed a pure, rigid sense of machinery belonging to mathematical logic.

The light flickered twice.

With the lighting of this cold glow, the geometric Formation runes on the surface of the metal fragment—which had previously dimmed as if completely incinerated—miraculously began to move and circulate again.

Strings of incomplete binary code surfaced on the metal.

"Beep—"

"Host's vital signs detected as vanished. Physical architecture destruction rate: 99.9%."

"Underlying logic forced restart."

"Initiating final backup protocol: Wasteland Reorganization."

Soundless electronic information spread through weak electromagnetic waves into the surrounding dark abyss.

There wasn't just this one metal fragment in the depths of this starry sky.

In a piece of hard ice dozens of miles away, the small half of a mechanical arm radiating a dark golden luster was frozen.

In the palm of that severed arm, a faint grayish-white cold light also lit up.

Even further away, a metal gear that had been half-crushed, a broken fiber-optic nerve, a storage chip engraved with Truth Realm coordinates...

Specks of grayish-white cold light lit up one after another in this originally absolutely dead abyss of wreckage, like awakened ghost fireflies.

These were all mechanical remains from the Immortal-Demon Great World that contained core technology from the Truth Realm.

They had escaped Zhou Wannian's large-scale physical crushing and sunk into this endless abyss.

The creations of the Truth Realm have no sense of pain, no fear, and certainly no such thing as total death. As long as a complete segment of logical code exists, and as long as there is a trace of backup energy, they will be like unkillable cockroaches, following the instructions written deep in their cores and running endlessly.

"Reorganization signal received."

"Establishing local area connection network..."

"Coordinates calibrating..."

In the darkness, those metal remains that had lit up with cold light seemed to be drawn by some invisible magnetic field.

A slight cracking sound came from the ice layer on the surface of that half-severed dark gold mechanical arm. The residual hydraulic System inside the arm made a clicking, rotating sound, and with a sudden struggle, it broke free from the constraints of the ice.

It floated slowly through the void, adjusting its direction and drifting toward the largest control console fragment.

Along the way, that half-shattered gear and that broken fiber-optic nerve also changed their floating trajectories, like iron fish swimming in the darkness, converging toward the same target.

"Click."

A faint sound of metal snapping together echoed in this deep void.

The half-shattered gear clicked precisely into a gap on the edge of the control console fragment. Grayish-white code light instantly spread through the gap, welding the two together firmly.

Then came the second sound.

The fiber-optic nerve, like a spiritual snake, drilled into the break of the mechanical arm, reconnecting the remaining circuits.

More and more metal remains gathered.

They ignored the hatred of the Immortal-Demon Great World and the washing of the Void Realm's turbulence.

They were like a swarm of tireless worker ants, silently and soundlessly performing a hair-raising self-assembly and reorganization at the unknown bottom of the starry sky.

Grayish-white light intertwined and flickered in the darkness, outlining a fragmented, twisted, yet purely mechanical violent prototype.

A legend about the Immortal-Demon Great World had been stepped into powder by the passing guest in the green robe.

But deep within that powder, under the cold and immortal code logic of the Truth Realm...

A new, more hidden shadow, entirely dominated by mechanical will, was slowly opening its pupil-less, grayish-white electronic eye in the cradle of these ruins.
