46: Chapter 46 Third Hope Middle School

Third Hope Middle School in C City.

Judging solely by its exterior, it looked no different from an ordinary middle school.

However, upon entering, one would discover that it was rife with almost every negative phenomenon that could possibly occur in a middle school.

From smoking, perms, and gang-style tattoos, to puppy love, bullying, and group fights—it had everything.

Yet, the school did not take any coercive measures against these; instead, it chose to let things be.

This was because the majority of the students here were teenagers suffering from various mental illnesses, patients with XYY syndrome, and students whose academic rankings were in the bottom 1% of the entire city.

If anyone had a need to collect an encyclopedia of human diversity, coming here would be a good choice.

The school had only three requirements for these students: do not skip class, do not hit teachers, and do not cause any deaths.

Everything else was ignored.

Under Song Xin's arrangement, Chen Moxuan completed his transfer procedures this morning and arrived at the school to report, carrying the labels of post-traumatic stress disorder and violent schizophrenia.

Coincidentally, his class this time was also Grade 3, Class 2.

When the homeroom teacher introduced him and mentioned his violent schizophrenia, Chen Moxuan cast a slightly nostalgic glance at his original seat.

The back row by the window, the king's hometown.

Unfortunately, someone was already sitting there.

Sensing Chen Moxuan's gaze upon his seat, the student sitting there was extremely enthusiastic; he stood up instantly and generously offered the seat.

His enthusiasm left Chen Moxuan quite puzzled: "Are you not sitting there?"

"No, no, the sun there burns my butt; I've been wanting to change seats for a long time!"

Having said that, the student scurried away, never daring to make eye contact with Chen Moxuan.

Since it had come to this, Chen Moxuan sat down in the familiar spot without hesitation.

Afterward, the homeroom teacher began the lesson, while many students below ignored it, audaciously chatting among themselves.

Taking this opportunity, Chen Moxuan took out his phone, opened the app fengxi again, and sent a message to Song Xin.

Chen Dianren 23333: "Regarding this Zhang Qing, is there no other information besides his name? Like which class he is in, or a photo of what he looks like?"

In less than a second, his message received an immediate reply.

Chen Moxuan sometimes suspected that Song Xin had hired a dedicated customer service agent to reply to messages for her?

Otherwise, given her elusive level of busyness, it would normally be impossible for her to be so quick with message replies.

Sloth Madman: "Nope, I only know the name; I don't know anything else, oh."

Chen Dianren 23333: "Why is there a three-day time limit? What will happen if I don't find him within three days?"

Sloth Madman: "If you don't find him within three days, Zhang Qing won't be in that place anymore."

"There are absolutely no clues." Chen Moxuan closed his phone and sighed.

If the Zhang Qing from the Martial Arts World looked the same as the Zhang Qing here, he might have been able to use that to search for him.

But unfortunately, he had never even seen Zhang Qing in the Martial Arts World.

Chen Moxuan turned his attention to the surrounding students' chatter, hoping to hear some useful information.

Relying on his keen hearing, those conversations clearly drilled into his ears.

"For this year's Continental Carnival, what events did you vote for?"

"I voted for 'Unarmed Combat'; watching the feeling of fists hitting flesh on the livestream is the most satisfying!"

"Boring, what's good about boxing? Vote for 'Bloody Trial'; I want to see rivers of blood."

"I feel 'Battle Royale' is also not bad; the final wave of the poison zone in the 69th edition was so brilliant!"

"I also don't know which city will be chosen this year; it's so hard to guess..."

"Anyway, I want to see rivers of blood!"

After listening for a while, Chen Moxuan realized they were just discussing the Continental Carnival, so he simply stopped listening.

This school didn't care about anything else, except for skipping class.

Chen Moxuan planned to wait until lunch break to go out and ask around to see if anyone knew Zhang Qing.

Sitting in the familiar spot, he was surrounded by the sounds of the teacher lecturing and the students whispering to each other.

A familiar wave of drowsiness washed over him.

After being discharged from the hospital last night, he went home and studied the app fengxi, as well as optimized the Martial Skill he had parsed from his classmate in the Traditional Martial Arts Class.

Although after his Breakthrough, his Mental Energy limit had increased to 120 points, the recovery speed of his Mental Energy had not changed.

He still had to rely on a lot of sleep to restore his Mental Energy.

"Let's sleep for a while first."

Chen Moxuan used his arm to prop up his head, turned his face toward the window, and closed his eyes in the most comfortable position.

...

Meanwhile, at the G District Hero Association branch, in a large conference room completely shielded from outside signals, over fifty people with varied appearances and attire were seated around a large, long table.

If there were any hero fans here, they would surely discover that everyone present was a B-rank hero or above.

Presiding over the meeting was the Branch President of the G District Hero Association, a bald man who looked to be over fifty years old.

In the Hero Association, the administrators on the surface, as well as those who handled various trivial daily affairs, were mostly ordinary people without any Special Ability.

The ones who truly held the power of discourse behind the scenes and made the final decisions were always those high-ranking heroes.

The heroes here were all among the top fifty in the G District Hero Association.

The Branch President looked at Wan Chaoren, who was sitting in the front row; with the first and second-ranked heroes never attending meetings, Wan Chaoren was the primary decision-maker.

Seeing him nod, the Branch President spoke:

"Except for 'Malicious Mask' and 'Stitcher' who are usually absent, everyone else is here, so let's officially start the meeting."

"The theme of this meeting is to discuss matters related to the 99th Continental Carnival, which is our G District's turn to host."

"First, regarding the selection of the city, does anyone have any good suggestions?"

"How about H City? There are many criminals there, it's quite interesting to watch." A person with a full beard, looking like a homeless man, said.

"I think S City has the largest population; this kind of thing is better with a big scene." A hero who looked like a young boy interjected.

"N City's recently submitted hero funds have been getting less and less; let's just go with that one."

The heroes each held their own opinions, speaking one after another, arguing heatedly.

"Everyone." Just then, Wan Chaoren spoke slowly, and the originally noisy and chaotic scene instantly quieted down, with everyone's gaze focused on him.

"What do you think of C City?"

"C City, not bad!"

"C City is fine."

"What I wanted to say was also C City."

Wan Chaoren did not elaborate on any reasons, merely throwing out an option, and all the heroes echoed in agreement.

Seeing this, the Branch President nodded with satisfaction, then reached out and pressed a switch.

In an instant, the large screen that had been turned off suddenly lit up, and the blinding light illuminated the entire conference room.

"Since the city has been decided, let's finally decide on the event content." The Branch President's voice echoed in the conference room,

"The screen shows the voting results for this year's event; the top three are 'Lawless', 'Bloody Trial', and 'Battle Royale'."

"These three are all events that other districts have already hosted, and some editions were done very brilliantly; if we host the same ones, it might be hard to surpass those editions.

My suggestion is, can we add some innovation to this 99th edition?"

Hearing this, the heroes all fell into a brief silence.

In previous events, they were merely bystanders watching the livestream and cheering along; they had never paid attention to the specific event content.

Suddenly asking them to think of innovation left their minds blank.

Just at this moment, a voice sounded from the corner of the conference room:

"Hey, I have an idea!"
