1: Chapter 1: Did the System Run Away?

"Phew, I'm exhausted! This system is so unreliable, it actually ran away!"

On the outskirts of the Star Dou Great Forest, a young man was resting against a large tree.

He was dressed in snow-white clothing, paired with short silver hair, giving him a very ethereal feeling.

The youth was named Mu Qingci; from the system he mentioned, it could be deduced that he was not a native of the Douluo Continent.

He had transmigrated here eleven years ago.

In this life, Mu Qingci was born in the Sun Moon Empire, having lost his parents at a young age and living alone.

At the age of six, he successfully awakened his twin spirits, the Iron Sword and Ghost Fire, with innate level 5 Soul Power, which was considered a decent start.

Just as he awakened his Spirit, the system followed, claiming it would grant him a newbie starter pack: Spirit Evolution.

It was originally promised that both Spirits would evolve, but halfway through, the system started causing trouble:

[This system has a date with another female system. Figure out the remaining Spirit yourself. Bye!]

After saying this, it vanished.

Mu Qingci looked at the empty air in front of him with black lines on his face; even now, recalling it, he remained furious.

The system had upgraded his Iron Sword Spirit into the Hades Sword Spirit—which only appeared in the third installment—but his secondary Spirit, Ghost Fire, remained just Ghost Fire.

This made things difficult for Mu Qingci. For six years, he had not dared to manifest his Spirit in front of others, and he had to rely on himself to hunt for spirit rings.

After all, in this era of the Peerless Tang Sect, the Hades Sword Spirit was a standard Evil Spirit. If exposed, he would only face two paths: either be executed on the spot by so-called righteous Spirit Master factions like those from Shrek Academy, or join the Holy Spirit Cult and become a true Evil Soul Master.

But Mu Qingci did not want to become an Evil Soul Master, so he could only hide and avoid revealing his Spirit to outsiders.

Fortunately, he still had twelve Undead Knights who could assist him in obtaining spirit rings.

Now, he was a level 37 Spirit Elder, and his twelve Undead Knights also possessed the strength of low-level Spirit Elders, which could be considered barely enough to protect himself.

Mu Qingci had come to the Star Dou Great Forest this time to camp out for the Son of Destiny, Huo Yuhao. Before the system ran away, it had given him the ability to evolve his second Spirit. It could be a Spirit Beast, just like how Huo Yuhao fused with the Ice Empress in the original story, or it could be another energy carrier.

At the same time, the system had told him that he and Huo Yuhao were the same age and even born in the same month, and Huo Yuhao was heading to the Star Dou Great Forest during this period.

And Mu Qingci's goal for this trip was none other than that Necromantic Holy Law God, the Undead Scourge, Electrolux.

His second Spirit, Ghost Fire, could be said to be a perfect match for Electrolux. As long as he found Huo Yuhao, intercepted Electrolux in advance, and activated the ability left by the system, his second Spirit would, barring any accidents, successfully evolve into the Necromantic Holy Law God.

Thinking this, Mu Qingci continued his search on the outskirts of the Star Dou Great Forest.

Mu Qingci was also very nervous; if he couldn't intercept Electrolux, he wouldn't know where to find a suitable second Spirit.

Mu Qingci released his Spirit, and a long gray sword appeared in his hand. The blade was slender and transparent, with gray currents faintly flowing across its surface.

One yellow and two purple spirit rings appeared beneath his feet.

Thanks to the twelve Undead Knights, even without help from others, Mu Qingci had still managed to obtain a super configuration that exceeded the optimal spirit ring ratio.

The reason he dared to absorb a thousand-year spirit ring for his second spirit ring was also thanks to his focus on physical conditioning since he was young.

Regarding money, Mu Qingci often took the twelve Undead Knights to rob bandits, which could be considered ridding the people of a scourge.

He used the money from robberies to buy heavenly treasures and whale glue to improve his physical fitness, which allowed him to absorb a thousand-year spirit ring for his second ring.

With a thought, twelve Undead Knights riding nether warhorses appeared before Mu Qingci.

"Go search the surroundings, and tell me once you find the target."

Mu Qingci shared a mental connection with them, so he didn't need to explain much. The twelve Undead Knights knew what to do, and they each rode their warhorses, scattering into the forest to search.

One hour later, Mu Qingci sensed information transmitted to him from an Undead Knight in the southwest direction. He hurriedly circulated his Soul Power and ran over at full speed.

Arriving before a patch of bushes, he carefully pushed them aside, and Mu Qingci saw the scene he had dreamed of:

A young man was fainted on the ground. Beside him lay the corpse of a Wind Baboon, with its white spirit ring still floating above it; it was clearly dead for not long.

"Great! I should have made it in time!"

Without time to think, Mu Qingci noticed a spatial ripple appearing above Huo Yuhao.

"It's here!"

Mu Qingci hurriedly released his Hades Sword Spirit, then simultaneously released his innate Domain: Underworld Rebirth Domain.

The surrounding air was stained with a grayish-black color, accompanied by bursts of ghostly wailing and death aura.

Mu Qingci released all his Soul Power, trying to maximize the effect of his Domain as much as possible.

Sure enough, after sensing this dense aura of the undead, Electrolux did not hesitate to change direction, and the gray ball of light flew towards Mu Qingci.

Accompanied by a sharp pain in his glabella, the gray ball of light vanished. Before his eyes, only the still-unconscious Huo Yuhao and the dead Wind Baboon remained.

"This place is not suitable for a long stay; I'd better leave first."

Thinking of Bei Bei and Tang Ya who would appear shortly in the original story, Mu Qingci decided to leave first. After all, he had no intention of joining Shrek, and traveling thousands of miles from the Sun Moon Empire here was only for Electrolux and his own second Spirit.

With his goal achieved, Mu Qingci headed to his next destination.

He was not in a rush to return to the Sun Moon Empire; instead, he prepared to first make a trip to the Star Luo Empire.

After all, now that he had Electrolux, how could he be without the Blade of Living Beings?

Anyway, he had the Hades Sword Spirit, so even if Electrolux hadn't awakened, that bit of a curse meant nothing to him.

Over the years, by robbing bandits and using the assets left by his late parents, Mu Qingci had accumulated quite a bit of wealth. As long as he encountered that carving knife, he was confident he could acquire it.

After all, compared to life, that so-called ranked carving knife was not worth mentioning, so Mu Qingci didn't need to worry about anyone competing with him for it.

Half a month later, he finally arrived at Star Luo City.

Finding an inn in the city to stay at, Mu Qingci began to inquire about auction information.

Learning that there was an auction tonight at the Starlight Auction House, Mu Qingci immediately spent a large sum of money to secure a White-level VIP spot, intending to try his luck.

Just at this moment inside the Starlight Auction House, the organizers were arranging tonight's auction items.

At this time, a woman dressed in a luxurious purple-gold evening gown walked in.

When the organizer's staff saw the person who arrived, they immediately became respectful: "Your Highness Jiujiu, why have you come?"
