Chapter 46. The fall of Draegonoth

The scalpel cut through the air like a streak of silver lightning, aimed directly at Draegonoth’s throat.But before it could land, the demon lord tilted his head ever so slightly. The blade grazed his cheek instead, drawing a thin line of blood.

Draegonoth’s smirk twisted into a scowl. He reached up, wiped the blood with his fingers, and stared at it.

"You dare stain my flawless skin?" His voice was eerily calm, but his aura was running wild with murderous intent.

Asher barely had time to react before Draegonoth charged forward in a blur, wrapping his clawed hand around Ashers throat, lifting him off the ground.

"Pathetic." Draegonoth’s grip tightened. "You really think a mere human can wound me?"

Asher clawed at the demon lord’s arm, gasping for breath. His feet dangled in the air as Draegonoth’s molten eyes bore into him.

Think. Focus.

He wasn’t going to die here.

His fingers twitched, reaching for the slot in his trousers. In a quick motion, he grabbed another scalpel and stabbed it into Draegonoth’s wrist.

The demon lord hissed, loosening his grip just enough for Asher to twist free. He landed roughly, stumbling back and coughing as he gulped down air.



Draegonoth inspected his injured wrist as it regenerated in seconds. "You are entertaining, I’ll give you that. But you’re out of tricks, aren’t you?"

Asher panted as he slowly reached for his last scalpel with trembling hands.

But before he could make a move, a massive explosion rocked the battlefield. The shockwave sent both of them flying in opposite directions.

Asher rolled across the ground, his body screaming in pain, and when he finally stopped rolling, he looked up and saw the cause of the explosion—

Rose.

She stood tall amidst the smoke and fire, her body covered in wounds.

"You talk too much, Draegonoth," she sneered. "Let’s see how well you fight when you take things seriously."

Asher struggled to his feet, grinning despite the pain. "Took you long enough, hot demon MILF."

Rose shot him a glare. "Call me that again, and I’ll kill you myself."

Draegonoth cracked his neck, stretching his arms as flames coiled around his hands. "Enough talk." His gaze darkened. "Let’s end this."

The battle had only just begun.

"Come human! Don’t slow me down." Rose said to Asher as she conjured a dark, long whip that materialized into her hands, coiling around like a living thing, causing Asher to freeze, stunned.

Draegonoth, however, only scoffed. "Really, Rose? You’re bringing that old trick against me?" He rolled his shoulders lazily. "How many times do I have to tell you? That technique is futile against me."

Rose cracked the whip once, and the ground beneath them shattered, sending debris flying into the air. "We’ll see about that."

Rose flicked her wrist as her cursed whip lashed out, moving like a black serpent through the air. It struck toward Draegonoth’s chest with blinding speed.

But the demon lord barely moved.

At the last second, he raised a single clawed finger, and effortlessly stopped the whip mid-air. The moment it made contact with him, dark energy exploded from the impact.

Yet Draegonoth stood firm, still unimpressed.

"Pathetic," he muttered. With a slight movement of his wrist, he yanked the whip forward, nearly pulling Rose off balance.

She gritted her teeth, reinforcing her stance. "You might resist its effects, but let’s see how long you can keep up that arrogance."

Dark tendrils surged from the whip, spreading like veins toward Draegonoth’s arm, trying to curse him. And for a moment there, the battlefield fell silent.

Then—

Draegonoth laughed. "You really don’t get it, do you?" he mused, glancing at his arm before he pulled the tendrils out and stepped them with his feet as his body regenerated from the attack instantly.

Rose’s eyes widened.

"Your curse is powerful, I’ll give you that." Draegonoth continued, stepping forward." But not against me. I am far beyond that. Did you really think this would work?"

Before Rose could react, Draegonoth shot forward, faster than a shadow. In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of her and with a single backhanded strike, he sent her flying.

Rose crashed into the ruins of a broken fortress, the impact shaking the very ground.

Asher’s heart nearly stopped. "Rose!"

Draegonoth exhaled, flexing his fingers. "Honestly, I expected more." He turned his gaze toward Asher. "Now then... since she’s out of the way, shall we continue our little chat?"

Asher swallowed hard, his fingers tightening around his last scalpel. His body screamed at him to run.

But he wasn’t about to back down.

Asher chuckled darkly. His villainous side was kicking in. The sheer thought of dragging a demon lord down from his high horse stirred something inside him—anticipation, energy, and an unshakable thirst to make his defeat unforgettable.

Draegonoth frowned. "What are you laughing at, brat?"

Asher’s smirk widened. "Me? A general for a demon lord who’s about to fall? No thanks. I’d rather stick to Rose."

In that instant, Asher’s buffs hit their max. His feet dug into the ground, muscles tensing. With a slow exhale, he stretched his open palm forward, gathering energy into his hand.

The ground behind him shattered as he launched forward like a jet.

Draegonoth, once brimming with arrogance, barely had time to react. In the blink of an eye, Asher was right in front of him.

Before he could even register what was happening, Asher was right in front of him, totally slicing his hand—the one wearing the bangle.

Blood sprayed like a fountain as the severed limb flew into the air. Asher snatched it mid-air and took off running with it.

"Rose! You’re up!" he shouted.

From the debris, Rose staggered to her feet, her eyes burning with vengeance. Her Cursed Whip blazed with dark energy as she lashed it toward the wounded demon lord.

Draegonoth’s eyes widened in sheer terror. His severed arm gushed rivers of blood. He had to run.

But the whip was too fast.

The cursed tendrils dug deep into his chest, dark veins spreading like wildfire through his body.

"NOOOO!" he screamed, clawing at his scalp. "I can’t—I CAN’T DIE LIKE THIS!"

Rose and Asher stepped forward, towering over him. Rose sneered and spat in his face, then pressed her boot against his cheek, pinning him down.

"This is what you deserve, you traitorous bitch," she said coldly. "The weak bow to the strong. Now grovel."

Draegonoth trembled beneath her, his body deteriorating.

"This... this can’t be happening! I—" He let out a bloodcurdling scream as his legs began disintegrating into dust—the curse consuming him from the inside out.

And then came Asher.

Laughing like a maniac.

"Oh, the look on your face—pure ecstasy. I told you, didn’t I?" He crouched, watching Draegonoth’s suffering like a piece of fine art. "In a fight between men... the ugliest one always loses."

Draegonoth let out a final desperate scream. "NO! I’m beautiful! I’m the most beautiful being in the heavens and earth!"

Asher’s grin turned wicked. "Hah! Well, before you die, let me show you something truly beautiful."

Before Draegonoth could protest, Asher grabbed Rose by the waist and pulled her in for a deep, passionate kiss.

Draegonoth’s face twisted in pure agony. "GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF MY WOMAN, YOU BRAT!!"



Asher smirked against Rose’s lips. "Shut up."

With one final kick, he shattered Draegonoth into dust.

Rose’s palm struck Asher across the face.

He blinked, dumbfounded. "What was that for?"

"For kissing me like I’m your woman!"

"But you said—"

She smirked, grabbed his shirt, and pulled him in for another kiss. This time, she lifted her leg, and Asher instinctively caught it with his free arm, running his fingers on her soft thighs, and deepening the kiss.

Rose’s soldiers cheered, watching their queen get kissed in front of them by a human.
