234: Time travel
"Tens of thousands of years ago!? There was human life back then!?"
Gu Jiting shook his head.
"What if I told you that this wasn't created by human life at all? Would you believe me?"
"I believe it. Ever since what happened underwater, I'll believe anything, no matter how ridiculous!"
"As far as I know, this place is one of the entrances to a net path established by an alien species."
"Based on my research over the years, I've found that this net path has at least tens of thousands of entrances. These entrances connect to different dimensions—they might lead to the past of our world, the future of our world, or perhaps other worlds."
"Now you know why I dare not enter easily, right?"
Lin Yuan stood still and squinted his eyes, already sensing the extremely violent spatial fluctuations ahead.
"I really don't know how Rootless Life managed to find this place."
"Back then, Rootless Life and I were fleeing for our lives and ended up near here. Rootless Life stumbled upon it accidentally."
"Later, when Rootless Life disappeared, I sensed his lingering Qi there."
Lin Yuan subconsciously walked forward. On a high platform not far away, piles of crystal were emitting a faint blue light.
Gu Jiting looked at the crystals nearby.
"Even when closed, this net path constantly affects the surrounding time. Only Rootless Life knew how to activate it, and I tried for a long time without success."
Zhang Chulan looked at the cave and asked, slightly confused:
"After Rootless Life entered, is he dead or alive?"
Gu Jiting shook his head.
"I'm afraid... no one knows. I only know that Rootless Life hasn't been able to come out decades after entering the net path."
"Perhaps he got lost in various worlds, or perhaps he died inside long ago."
"But regardless of the outcome, this net path is extremely perilous. Zhang Chulan, Ma Xianhong, I must warn you: think carefully before you enter."
Gu Jiting's intention was simple. He knew the place Rootless Life entered was extremely dangerous, and he had to make that clear to them.
Zhang Chulan smiled.
"I carry too many burdens. If I die without finding the answers this time, perhaps that is just my destiny..."
Ma Xianhong looked completely unconcerned.
"Lin Yuan gave me this life. Everything I have now was arranged by him. I've long been used to facing life and death alongside him."
Gu Jiting was stunned. He felt his old face flush; compared to these youngsters, he truly felt he couldn't measure up.
Decades had passed, and Gu Jiting knew the terror and complexity of this net path.
If his lifespan hadn't been approaching its end, he probably still wouldn't dare to enter this Secret Realm, much less actively seek help from Lin Yuan.
Looking at these youngsters, knowing the mountain holds a tiger yet still heading towards the tiger's lair! They are the true powerhouses!!
People with strong inner hearts will never fare too poorly, no matter where they go!
Lin Yuan then took out several Magical Artifacts and handed them to everyone.
"These are a batch of Magical Artifacts I recently refined. They contain the power of time and space. As long as we inject Qi into them, we can sense the location of the others!"
"With this item, I can find you anywhere on Blue Star!"
Zhang Chulan scratched his head.
"Isn't this just a GPS?"
"It's different. Once you enter the net path, any GPS or navigation system will likely become useless."
"Furthermore, I tested it: if you crush the Magical Artifact at the final critical moment, it can form a barrier to help you withstand fatal damage. Keep them safe."
Gu Jiting smiled as he accepted the Magical Artifact.
"Immortal Master Lin Yuan, you truly are thoroughly prepared!!"
"In that case, thank you."
Zhang Chulan smiled.
"Hahaha! I knew following Junior Martial Uncle meant getting good stuff!"
"Lin Yuan, compared to yours, why do I feel like the Magical Artifacts I refine are just scrap metal?"
After finishing this, Lin Yuan began attempting to activate the net path entrance ahead.
Lin Yuan continuously sensed the surrounding spatial power. He discovered that the blue-glowing crystals nearby could amplify his spatial power.
He immediately poured all of his spatial power into the crystals.
The next second, this spatial power, amplified and guided by the crystals, began activating the net path entrance.
Gu Jiting stood frozen on the side. Something he had studied for decades without opening, someone else opened just by looking at it twice?
Truly, comparing people only makes one furious.
As a strange force began condensing out of thin air, a rapidly spinning water curtain appeared before everyone.
"This... must be the so-called net path entrance?"
"I'll go in first; you follow after!"
Lin Yuan walked into the so-called net path entrance with the qianming sword on his back.
The moment he entered, he felt the entire world spin violently, as if he had been thrown into a washing machine and was being spun dry frantically.
"Holy crap!!"
The next second, Lin Yuan suddenly woke up.
He was now inside a very illusory spatial corridor. All around him were mirror-like entrances, densely packed and stretching as far as the eye could see.
"This net path truly is extraordinary, featuring such unusual spatial turbulence."
Lin Yuan then walked up to one of the mirror entrances. The mirror surface of the entrance strangely developed spiderweb-like cracks, eventually forming a small black hole that continuously emitted terrifying suction.
Lin Yuan instantly lost the ability to resist, and he was sucked into it, disappearing completely.
When he opened his eyes again, the first thing he smelled was the aroma of flatbread, followed by wisps of cooking smoke rising in the distance.
He continuously surveyed his surroundings and realized he was not on the so-called Mount Everest; it seemed he had arrived somewhere else.
Could it be that the entrances to those net paths all link to different places on Blue Star?
Lin Yuan took out the Magical Artifact, intending to contact the others. Upon attempting contact, he was shocked to find he couldn't sense anyone!!!
Where did this take me?! Is this still Blue Star!?
Lin Yuan kept looking around. There was no way his Magical Artifact could be malfunctioning. As long as they were in the same dimension, he could sense Zhang Chulan even if he drifted to the moon!
The fact that he couldn't sense anyone now proved that he and the others must not be in the same dimension.
"Oh... Young friend ahead, excuse me, excuse me!"
As he spoke, an old Daoist priest with a white beard, dressed in a Daoist robe, and with somewhat rough features, slowly walked over.
Lin Yuan felt that the approaching old Daoist priest looked familiar. Where had he seen him before?
Instantly, Lin Yuan's eyes widened.
Holy crap... I know where I saw him! Doesn't the Ancestral Hall of the Tianshi Mansion have his portrait!?
