125: Chapter 125 Three Places Severed
The Broken Bridge Audit Powder was divided into three parts.
One part pressed against the Left Bottle.
One part pressed against the middle gasket diagram.
One part pressed against the Right Bottle empty base rubbing.
Jona looked at the three small piles of grayish-white powder, his lips dry.
"Divided into three parts in half a breath, what's left?"
Kahn said, "Guts."
"Then I don't have any."
Nami pushed the recording board back into his arms.
"You have hands."
Jona lowered his head.
"My hands are shaking too."
"Write even if they shake."
The white ring tightened again.
The Sign-Guarding Ship retreated into the depths but did not leave. The shadows of three white poles clung beneath the water, like three knives waiting to put pen to paper.
Under the Left Anchor, the white and blue warehouse buckles beneath the bridge glowed slightly.
Under the Central Nail, the white mud at the Shell-Patching Mouth piled up again.
Outside the Right Nail, the External Audit white line pressed down lightly.
All three locations were waiting for The Calamity to move first.
Nami spread out the nautical chart.
"Sequence of actions."
Rake nodded.
"Left warehouse door."
The Station Master continued.
"Middle shell-patching gasket."
Kahn tapped the old hammer.
"Right pressure empty bottle."
Nami shook her head.
"Wrong."
The three of them looked at her simultaneously.
"The left warehouse door opens a crack, the middle shell-patching only blocks, and the right pressure only listens." She pointed the charcoal pencil below the Left Anchor, "What's truly severed is the warehouse door's short window."
Jona relaxed a little.
"Only sever one place?"
"All three move simultaneously, one is briefly severed."
Night Ember said, "The other two locations are responsible for keeping it from scattering."
"Correct."
Wooden Tablet Three tapped one long and two short.
Noel was still under the Left Anchor.
E-19 said in a low voice, "He says he can wait for half a breath."
The Station Master immediately said, "He cannot wait by force."
Nami pressed the painkiller powder particles into the Pending Verification Tablet.
"So give him half a breath without pain."
The Station Master looked at her.
"This pill must count as real medicine."
"It counts."
"Then don't owe it for too long."
Nami nodded.
Rake supported the Pending Verification Tablet with a soft rope.
Kahn pressed the rubbing of the shell-seam gasket into the water surface of the Central Nail.
Jona stuck the Right Bottle empty base rubbing to the outside of the Right Nail.
Night Ember stood between the three, the Black Flag pole hanging on the deck.
Nami looked at him.
"Only press the water difference."
"Understood."
All three locations on the water surface lit up simultaneously.
The Left Anchor warehouse door opened first.
The white buckle asked for medicine.
The blue buckle asked about the injury.
The black buckle did not move.
Nami said in a low voice, "Station Master."
The Station Master flicked the real medicine powder into the Pending Verification Tablet.
The white buckle immediately lit up fully, then was half-covered by the two characters "Pending Verification."
The blue buckle floated out: [Injury Owner?]
Jona pushed the empty wooden tablet fragments over.
[Injury not claimed, owes care fee.]
The blue buckle half-opened.
The warehouse door cracked open by a finger and a half.
The Central Nail Shell-Patching Mouth extended three teeth simultaneously.
Kahn pressed down on the gasket rubbing.
"Gasket is present, shell seam needs repair."
The three teeth bit onto the rubbing, and the white mud turned gray.
Shell Recognition Position Two tapped out one short, three short, one short.
E-19 said, "He has stabilized."
The copper buckle on the outside of the Right Nail sounded.
Three times.
Stop.
A gasp of breath.
The Right Bottle empty base rubbing stuck to the white line.
[Bottle owner absent, escort postponed.]
The External Audit white line stopped.
All three locations stalled simultaneously before the half-breath mark.
Nami sprinkled the Broken Bridge Audit Powder into the crack of the Left Anchor warehouse door.
"Sever."
Rake pulled the soft rope.
A gray line cracked between the white and blue buckles of the warehouse door.
The gray line only opened for half a breath.
But in that half-breath, a clear tapping sound came from outside the warehouse.
One long.
Two short.
One short.
The Station Master immediately closed his eyes.
"Noel is awake."
A small piece of black and White Tooth fell out of the gray line.
Rake did not grab the person.
Only grabbed the tooth.
The soft rope coiled, and the black and White Tooth fell into the iron tray.
The warehouse door closed immediately.
The black buckle did not move from beginning to end.
Jona held his breath until sweat broke out on his forehead.
"What did we get?"
Nami picked up the black and White Tooth with tweezers.
There were three shallow grooves on the tooth's surface.
The first groove was marked Injury Grid.
The second groove was marked fake injury tablet.
The third groove was empty.
The Station Master's expression was grim.
"The third groove is waiting for a name."
Nami flipped the tooth over.
There was another line of small codes on the back: [half key for the under-bridge warehouse, opens the outside but not the account.]
Kahn frowned.
"half key?"
"It can only open the Outer Grid, it cannot open the inner warehouse." Nami sealed the half key into an evidence bag, "Noel is at the edge of the Outer Grid; there is another layer in the inner warehouse."
Night Ember said, "Name Warehouse."
Nami nodded.
"Behind the Injury Grid is the Name Warehouse."
Wooden Tablet Three tapped lightly once.
This time it wasn't a distress code.
It was like a confirmation.
The Station Master capped the painkiller powder bottle.
"The medicine is effective for one round. The next time we open it, we can't rely on just one pill."
The Central Nail Shell-Patching Mouth suddenly tightened.
The three teeth realized the Left Anchor warehouse door had been briefly severed and immediately bit toward the gasket rubbing. Kahn's expression changed.
"It's trying to patch it back."
Nami placed the half key next to the Central Nail.
The Shell-Patching Mouth stopped.
It recognized the under-bridge warehouse half key, but didn't understand who the half key belonged to.
A Short Code floated out: [half key ownerless, shell-patching pending verification.]
The Right Nail External Audit white line also pressed over.
The old copper buckle sounded three times, then once more.
The External Audit Ship wanted to recognize the half key as an escort item.
Jona was anxious.
"They both want the key!"
Nami covered the outside of the half key evidence bag with the empty bottle base rubbing.
[Key fee not settled.]
All three locations stopped simultaneously.
Kahn said slowly, "The key also owes a fee."
"Everything that can save a life must owe a fee." Nami put the evidence bag into the iron box, "Only by owing can it not be signed away."
The Sign-Guarding Ship's white pole probed out from the depths.
The tablet face turned black: [Three locations disturbed audit, half key entered into account.]
Nami said coldly, "It can't be entered."
She pressed the Half-bridge fee return signature onto the iron box.
[Bridge lift must not exceed half.]
The Black Code was blocked outside the iron box.
The water light at the three locations slowly receded.
The Left Anchor warehouse door closed.
The Central Shell-Patching Mouth was postponed.
The Right Pressure Position pulled back by half a chain.
This time, The Calamity did not rescue anyone.
But it obtained the under-bridge warehouse half key.
Noel was still awake.
Shell Recognition Position Two was not patched full.
The living person at the Right Pressure Position still had a window to breathe.
Jona wrote down the last line, his hand finally not shaking.
"Three locations moved simultaneously, left warehouse briefly severed, half key obtained."
Nami took a look.
"This sentence can stay."
Kahn raised an eyebrow.
"He's grown some skills."
Just as Jona was about to be smug, the last line of Black Code from the Sign-Guarding Ship floated out.
[Name Warehouse awaiting audit.]
Jona went quiet again.
Night Ember looked at the Black Code.
"The next door."
Nami closed the iron box.
"The next door is more expensive."
The Station Master weighed the Left Bottle again.
"One pill of real medicine is missing."
Nami said, "Record it on Noel's account."
Jona was stunned.
"You keep accounts even when saving people?"
"Keeping an account isn't about collecting money." Nami put the Left Bottle back into the medicine box, "It's to prove who this pill was given to. If White Well wants to launder the medicine source later, there's a name on the account."
She paused for a moment.
"The public version doesn't write the name."
Jona nodded and wrote: One pill of left medicine, used on the injury line.
Kahn looked at the half key iron box.
"Name Warehouse awaiting audit, does that mean we still have to open the inner warehouse?"
"Not now." Nami pushed the iron box to the Middle Line of the ship, "Let the half key owe for now."
Night Ember looked toward the water below.
The white ring had already retreated into the distance, and only a very faint white shadow of the Sign-Guarding Ship remained.
"It is also waiting for the next round."
"It's waiting for us to get anxious." Nami put away the nautical chart, "We are not anxious."
Wooden Tablet Three tapped one long and two short.
This time it was steadier than before.
The Station Master said in a low voice, "The medicine has taken effect."
Nami pointed the pen next to the Name Warehouse Black Code.
"Then let him wait for another round."
