127: Chapter 127 Fake Injury Card
A small blue and white tablet emerged from beneath the Left Anchor.
It was only half a fingernail in size, yet three thin threads hung from its edge.
The first connected to the cabin door's white buckle.
The second connected to the blue buckle.
The third hid in the black water, moving toward the outer edge of the Name Warehouse.
The Station Master put down the medical shears.
"This is not an injury tablet."
Jona was about to write, but his pen tip paused.
"Then what is it?"
"A hook for injury."
Nami arranged the left bottle of analgesic powder, the door shadow evidence bag, and the half key iron box into a triangle.
"The fake injury tablet must answer two questions for the cabin door."
Kahn continued.
"The source of the medicine and the owner of the injury."
"Correct. If it answers successfully, Noel will be pushed into the Injury Grid."
Wooden Tablet Three tapped once long and twice short.
Very urgent.
E-19 immediately said, "He says that tablet is sticking to him."
The Station Master pressed his hand onto the damp cloth of the cabin door.
"Don't let him struggle."
Nami handed a small bill to Rake.
It read: Injury fee unverified.
Rake used a soft rope to support the small bill and delivered it beneath the Left Anchor.
The fake injury tablet immediately turned.
It didn't look at the bill.
It smelled the medicine first.
A wisp of the medicinal frost scent from the door shadow evidence bag was drawn out and stuck to the fake injury tablet. A blue vein immediately appeared on the tablet's surface.
The Station Master said coldly, "It is stealing the cabin door's fingerprint."
Nami pulled the evidence bag back.
"Kahn."
Kahn stuffed a piece of old ship skin in front of the bag's opening.
"The old skin is in need of repair; the medicinal frost cannot pass."
The scent of the medicine was blocked by the old skin.
The blue vein on the fake injury tablet broke halfway.
It turned toward the left bottle again.
The Station Master used tweezers to pick up a grain of analgesic powder and placed it into an empty iron spoon.
"Real medicine is only for hot injuries, not for fake tablets."
Jona asked, "How do you distinguish a hot injury?"
The Station Master extended the iron spoon to the surface of the water by the Left Anchor.
When the real medicine approached Noel tapping the code, the bottom of the spoon fogged up.
When it approached the fake injury tablet, the bottom of the spoon frosted over.
"Living injuries have heat; fake injuries only consume cold."
Jona wrote quickly: Fake injury has no heat, frosts upon meeting medicine.
Nami pushed the 'Injury fee unverified' bill over.
The fake injury tablet bit onto the character "Injury".
The small blue and white tablet immediately expanded, as if it wanted to swallow the bill into the tablet.
Nami raised her pen and added two characters: Unverified.
The small tablet got stuck.
It could eat the injury fee, but it could not eat 'unverified'.
Rake flicked the soft rope, hooking the first thin thread on the edge of the tablet.
"White buckle thread."
"Don't snap it," Nami said. "Just scrape the powder."
The small knife on the soft rope grazed against the thin thread, scraping off a bit of blue and white powder.
The powder fell into the iron tray.
A Short Code emerged: [Medicine source borrows cabin.]
The Station Master's expression turned colder.
"It doesn't carry its own medicine source; it is borrowing the cabin door's white buckle."
Nami looked at the second thread.
"What about the blue buckle?"
Rake changed angles and scraped the second one.
This time, what fell off wasn't powder, but a small piece of dry skin.
There was no blood on the dry skin.
Only old blue salt.
Short Code: [Injury owner pending replacement.]
Jona looked up.
"Pending replacement?"
E-19's face turned pale.
"It wants to swap someone else's injury onto him."
Wooden Tablet One suddenly tapped once.
Wooden Tablet Two also tapped.
The Station Master immediately pressed down the partition cloth of the injured crew cabin.
"Do not respond."
Nami pressed her hand onto the account book.
"The fake injury tablet isn't just dragging Noel. It will also find someone to replace the injury."
Kahn cursed.
"Swapping one injured person for another."
"Not just that," Nami sealed the dry skin into the bag, "The person replaced will enter the Injury Grid, and the original owner of the injury will enter the Name Warehouse."
Jona's fingers trembled.
"This bill is too dark."
"That's why we must ensure it cannot find a replacement."
Nami picked up an empty wooden tablet and wrote: Replacement absent.
The Station Master added another line: Living injuries are not swapped.
Both small tablets entered the water at the same time.
The fake injury tablet immediately released Noel's tapping code and turned toward 'Replacement absent'. It couldn't find a replacement, and the blue buckle thread shook violently.
Rake stared at the third black thread.
"It wants to retreat back to the Name Warehouse."
Night Ember grasped the Black Flag pole.
Nami said, "Press the water, not the tablet."
The shadow of the Black Flag fell to the outside of the Left Anchor.
The water surface lowered by an inch.
The fake injury tablet wasn't crushed, but it was forced to stop between the Injury Grid and the Name Warehouse.
In that moment, Wooden Tablet Three tapped two longs and one short.
E-19 whispered, "He says there is writing on the back of the tablet."
Rake immediately pressed the soft knife against the back of the tablet.
The soft knife didn't flip the tablet but only rubbed off a reflection.
On the reflection were four small codes: [Fake injury enters true name.]
The Station Master gritted his teeth.
"It is using a fake injury to force a true name."
Nami sealed the reflection into the evidence bag.
"This is the pre-trial of the Name Warehouse."
The fake injury tablet had been forced to stop for too long and began to shed frost.
The frost fell onto the water surface and flowed along the black thread toward the outer edge of the Name Warehouse.
Kahn's expression changed.
"The frost will lead the way."
Nami immediately sprinkled white stone powder onto the black thread.
The white stone powder met the frost and made a faint crackling sound.
The black thread turned gray.
The Name Warehouse door shadow behind the fake injury tablet vanished by half.
A Short Code emerged: [fake injury tablet awaiting repair.]
"The shell-patching opening is about to move." Kahn turned toward the Central Nail.
The white mud of the Central Nail indeed began to rise.
Three thin teeth were exposed, biting toward the direction of the fake injury tablet.
Nami pressed the shell seam gasket diagram onto it.
"The gasket is still in need of repair."
The shell-patching opening stopped but didn't retreat.
It spat out a small pinch of white mud, sticking it toward the gap in the fake injury tablet.
The Station Master said sharply, "Don't let the white mud touch the tablet."
Rake's soft rope coiled around the edge of the fake injury tablet.
"Can you take it?"
"I can only take a corner."
Nami pushed the half key iron box next to the Left Anchor.
[Key fee unsettled.]
The fake injury tablet thought the half key was going to open the Outer Grid and veered outward by half an inch.
Rake seized the opportunity and slashed with his soft knife.
A corner of the small blue and white tablet fell off.
The fake injury tablet immediately retracted between the Injury Grid and the Name Warehouse.
The cabin door's white and blue buckles lit up simultaneously.
The black buckle also turned once.
The breathing of the entire ship quieted down.
The black buckle finally retracted.
Nami sealed the corner of the fake injury tablet into the iron box.
"Do not pursue."
Jona said anxiously, "It is still in front of him."
"But it is missing a corner."
The Station Master looked at the iron box.
"Missing this corner, can it still swap injuries?"
Nami shook her head.
"It can, but it won't be complete. Next time, it must repair the tablet first."
Kahn looked at the Central Nail.
"The shell-patching opening will help it repair it."
"So the next step is to make the half key unable to return to its owner."
Jona was confused.
"Wasn't it already in arrears just now?"
Nami stuck the corner of the fake injury tablet onto the outside of the half key iron box.
"Arrears only block the Name Warehouse. After the half key takes the corner of the fake injury tablet, the Sign-Guarding Ship will pursue the custodian."
Deep within the white ring, three white rods slowly flipped up.
A Black Code floated on the surface of the water: [half key holder pending trial.]
Jona silently hugged the recording board tightly.
"Judging us again?"
Kahn lifted the old hammer.
"This time it's judging the money bag."
Nami closed the iron box.
"No, it's judging who dares to save someone."
