77: Phantom stealth attacks vulnerable points, Eagle soars through the sky to shatter the beast tide.

Chapter Eighty: Phantom Stealth Attacks the Weak Point, Falcons Strike the Sky to Break the Beast Tide

The evolved Level Six Mutants were even more ferocious.

Their bodies had swelled to twelve meters tall, like moving steel fortresses. Their scales shimmered with a dark green light; even the electrical strikes from the magnetic storm coils only produced sparse sparks upon impact. The Scaled Wing Overlord that had just had its gills injured actually tore through the electrical net by force. As its massive fleshy wings flapped, the resulting gale swirled sand and stone, blowing several soldiers off the city wall.

"The defensive line is about to break!" soldiers cried out in alarm from the wall. The barrels of the heavy sonic cannons had turned red from overheating, and very few shells remained in the chambers, yet they still couldn't stop the charging Mutants. A Level Six Clawed Beast had even climbed onto the battlements, its claws slamming down fiercely. Two soldiers who couldn't dodge in time were instantly sent flying, their blood splattering shockingly against the cold wall.

Lin Zhou stood atop the command vehicle, his fingernails digging deep into his palms. His fingers gripping the Walkie-Talkie had turned white from the strain: "phantom tank squad, execute stealth raid immediately! Target: the gills of all Mutants! falcon fighter jet squad, take flight! Free hunt!"

The moment the command was issued, the twelve phantom tanks lying in ambush among the coastal reefs immediately activated their optical cloaking modules. The coating on their hulls acted like a chameleon, blending into the environment of reefs and sand. Even the red alert system's radar might have failed to capture their signals if their coordinates hadn't been pre-marked. The low roar of the engines was perfectly masked by the sea breeze as the phantom tanks, like crouching leopards, silently circled to the side and rear of the Mutant swarm.

At this moment, all the Mutants' attention was focused on the city wall, frantically ramming the alloy gates, completely unaware of the approaching Grim Reaper.

"Fire!" the phantom tank squad leader ordered, his voice carrying an excitement suppressed to the extreme.

Twelve main guns simultaneously spat out dazzling flames. High-explosive armor-piercing shells trailed streaks of fire, accurately boring into the gill crevices of the Mutants—the weakest spot on a Level Six Mutant's body, lacking thick scales and covered only by a thin membrane.

"Boom—!"

Violent explosions rang out in succession. Dark green blood shot out from the gills like fountains, and a foul stench instantly filled the entire beach. The three Level Six Clawed Beasts charging at the front swayed their massive bodies and crashed to the ground. Their crimson pupils quickly dimmed, and after a few twitches, they went still.

"It's working! Keep firing! Change positions! Don't get targeted!" the squad leader shouted with wild joy, decisively ordering a relocation.

The phantom tanks constantly shifted positions, every shot accurately hitting its mark. The advantage of invisibility allowed them to weave through the battlefield like ghosts. The Mutants roared in fury but couldn't find the direction of the attacks; they could only swing their claws wildly, gouging huge pits into the beach as the kicked-up sand and stones struck their scales with dull thuds.

And just then, a piercing whistle came from the horizon.

Twenty falcon fighter jets, like unsheathed swords, shot straight into the clouds. The sonic missiles mounted under their wings had already locked onto the Scaled Wing Overlords circling in the air—these flying Mutants were constantly diving toward the wall, spitting dark green acid that corroded pits into the alloy fortifications.

"Falcon One, locking onto target Scaled Wing Overlord!"

"Falcon Five, requesting permission to attack!"

"Free hunt, begin! Prioritize neutralizing aerial targets!"

The squadron commander gave the order, and the fighter group fanned out like a flock of geese, diving down from different directions.

sonic missiles trailed pale purple exhaust, smashing into the Scaled Wing Overlords like meteors. These missiles had been modified overnight by the Research Team specifically to target Mutant biological tissue; the high-frequency sound waves produced upon explosion could directly shatter their internal organs.

"Roar—!"

One Scaled Wing Overlord failed to dodge and was hit by three missiles simultaneously. Amidst the massive explosion, its fleshy wings were torn apart, and its huge body fell like a broken kite, crashing heavily into the sea and kicking up waves dozens of meters high.

The remaining Scaled Wing Overlords scattered in terror, but they couldn't shake off the agile fighter jets. The falcon fighter jets were like hunting eagles, sticking close to their targets as missiles were fired one after another. In the sky, the sounds of explosions, roars, and jet engines intertwined, and the flames dyed half the sky red.

The soldiers on the wall watched with boiling blood. Their originally taut nerves suddenly relaxed, and they burst into earth-shattering cheers: "Nice shot!" "Take down those monsters!"

Wang Hu brandished his Bone-Spike Long Saber, cleaving through a Mutant hatchling that had climbed onto the battlements. Scalding dark green blood splattered all over him, but he didn't care at all, laughing heartily: "Satisfying! So damn satisfying! The commander's move is brilliant!"

Lin Zhou stared intently at the battlefield, but there wasn't the slightest smile on his face.

He noticed that the dark green blood at the wounds of the injured Mutants was rapidly coagulating. There were even a few Mutants with only one side of their gills pierced who actually endured the intense pain, turned around, and charged toward the general vicinity of the phantom tanks—their self-healing and sensory abilities were far stronger than recorded in the intelligence.

"Notify the phantom tank squad to switch to armor-piercing incendiary rounds!" Lin Zhou said into the Walkie-Talkie, his voice heavy with gravity. "Falcon jets, concentrate fire and completely destroy the Mutants' cranial crystal cores! Don't give them a chance to heal!"

Just as the command reached the front line, a strange fluctuation suddenly came from the direction of the far sea.

It wasn't a roar, but a low, thunder-like heartbeat. Even across several nautical miles, it caused the soldiers on the coastline to feel a pang of palpitations, their eardrums buzzing.

Chen Hao held up his binoculars, his expression changing drastically, his voice trembling with disbelief: "commander! Look at the far sea! Those Level Six Mutants... they seem to be afraid of something!"

Lin Zhou snapped his head up and looked in the direction Chen Hao was pointing—he saw the Level Six Mutants on the sea surface simultaneously stop their attacks and turn around, letting out low, submissive growls toward the far sea. Their bodies trembled slightly, and their eyes were filled with terror, as if they had seen something utterly horrifying.

"What's going on?" Wang Hu also sensed something was wrong and frowned toward the far sea.

At that moment, a massive figure slowly rose from the horizon of the far sea. Its entire body was covered in dark gold scales that shimmered with a cold light in the sun. It stood a full twenty meters tall, nearly twice as large as an ordinary Level Six Mutant. The single horn on its head was like the sharpest spear, glinting with a cold light.

Even more terrifying was that embedded in its cranial cavity was a fist-sized crystal core emitting a purple glow—the color of a Level Six Mutant's crystal core!

"This... this isn't a Level Seven Mutant!" The Research Team Leader's voice suddenly came through the Walkie-Talkie, accompanied by hurried breathing. "It's the Golden Perfected Form from the Serpent Skeleton Research Institute! It was bred by fusing the crystal cores of several Level Six Mutants! The records mentioned that this perfected form possesses several times the strength and self-healing ability of an ordinary Level Six Mutant!"

Lin Zhou's pupils contracted sharply as he stared fixedly at that golden figure, his heart sinking abruptly.

No wonder the Man in the Suit dared to release so many Level Six Mutants; he actually had such a trump card!

On the mobile platform in the far sea, the Man in the Suit looked at the Golden Perfected Form slowly appearing on the screen, a morbid smile curling his lips.

"Lin Zhou, did you think Level Six Mutants were my trump card?" He picked up his wine glass and took a light sip, his eyes full of manic killing intent. "This perfected form is the 'surprise' I've prepared for you."

On the battlefield, the Golden Perfected Form slowly raised its head. Its crimson eyes bypassed the layers of Mutants and locked onto Lin Zhou atop the command vehicle.

A wave of cold killing intent instantly enveloped the entire coastline.

The cheering on the city wall came to an abrupt halt.
