104: Chapter 104 First Test of the Twin Sisters

Chen Fan felt the world go black before his eyes; his body swayed, and he nearly collapsed to the ground.

"Master Luo!"

The two sisters were horrified and hurriedly supported him on both sides.

Where they touched him, his skin was scorching hot.

"He has been poisoned! Quick! Find a place to treat him!" Hong Shao acted decisively, her voice filled with unquestionable determination.

Qing Luo was also so anxious she was on the verge of tears, nodding repeatedly.

Working together, they hoisted the semi-conscious Chen Fan onto a horse. Without caring about cleaning up the battlefield, they randomly picked a direction and fled in a panic.

After traveling for an unknown amount of time, they finally found an abandoned hunter's cabin deep in the mountains.

The cabin was small, but tidy enough to serve as a resting place.

Qing Luo carefully helped Chen Fan onto the bed to lie down, while Hong Shao nimbly started a fire and rummaged through her carry-on bag, pulling out various bottles and jars.

As they traveled the Jianghu, these Medicinal Pills for detoxifying and healing were naturally standard items they kept on hand.

"Big Sister, will Master Luo... will he be alright?" Qing Luo's voice trembled with tears as she looked at Chen Fan's face, which had turned a dark, bruised color from the poison. Her heart ached unbearably.

"Shut up! Don't say such inauspicious things!" Hong Shao snapped, though her eyes were equally filled with worry.

She tore open the sleeve of Chen Fan's arm; a wisp of black Qi was spreading along his Meridians toward his heart.

"It's 'Black Blood Throat-Sealer'!" Hong Shao gasped. "What a ruthless poison!"

Not daring to delay, she quickly took out a jade-green Medicinal Pill, pried open Chen Fan's mouth, and fed it to him.

Afterward, she took out a dagger, heated it over the fire, gritted her teeth, and sliced a cross into the pitch-black wound.

Pfft.

A stream of black, toxic blood gushed out, splashing onto the floor with a sizzling, corrosive sound.

Qing Luo was terrified, but she endured her fear, brought over fresh water, and helped her sister clean the wound.

After the flurry of activity, both sisters were drenched in sweat.

The dark, bruised color on Chen Fan's face had finally faded slightly, and his breathing gradually stabilized.

"Finally... his life is saved." Hong Shao let out a long breath, feeling as if she had collapsed, and sat limply by the bedside.

"Big Sister, I'll go outside to find some herbs and get something to eat." Qing Luo wiped the sweat from her forehead and said softly.

"Go ahead, be careful."

Qing Luo nodded, lingering for a moment to look at Chen Fan on the bed before turning to leave.

In the cabin, only Chen Fan and Hong Shao remained.

The atmosphere became quiet for a moment.

The candlelight flickered, casting Hong Shao's graceful silhouette against the wall, stretching it into a long shadow.

She sat quietly by the bedside, her soul-stirring eyes fixed unblinkingly on the unconscious Chen Fan.

She looked at his face, which, while not conventionally handsome, had sharp, defined features.

Recalling the mountain path, where he had stood alone with his sword, walking leisurely amidst thousands of troops with unmatched elegance.

An inexplicable feeling began to grow wildly in her heart.

This man was powerful, aloof, like a block of ice that would never melt for ten thousand years.

Yet, beneath that cold exterior, he hid a scorching heart that would rage against injustice.

She reached out, her fingertips trembling as she gently caressed his cheek, his brow, and his lips.

"You fool..."

She murmured to herself, her voice carrying a trace of obsession she hadn't even realized herself.

"You act so cold on a daily basis, but it turns out... you can get hurt too."

"Do you know how scared I was when I saw you poisoned and falling down just now..."

As she spoke, her eyes turned slightly red.

Just then, those tightly closed eyes slowly opened.

Chen Fan's consciousness had already recovered.

It was just that the aftereffects of the poison were too strong, leaving him without a shred of strength in his body.

He opened his eyes and saw Hong Shao's stunning face, tear-stained and only inches away.

Their eyes met.

Hong Shao's body instantly stiffened.

A wave of heat rushed from her neck to the top of her head, burning her entire face bright red.

Like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, she retracted her hand lightning-fast and tried to stand up.

But a weak hand grabbed her wrist.

"Don't go."

Chen Fan's voice, due to the poison, sounded somewhat hoarse.

Hong Shao's heart skipped a beat.

She didn't dare look back, her heart pounding wildly in her chest, as if it were about to jump out of her throat.

"You... you're awake..." Her voice was as thin as a mosquito's buzz.

Chen Fan didn't speak, just applied slight pressure with his hand, pulling her closer.

A spicy yet sweet, feminine fragrance rushed into his nose.

Hong Shao's body softened like a ball of cotton, and half-resisting, she fell into his arms.

"You..." She wanted to say something more.

But the moment she opened her mouth, it was blocked.

A warm, slightly bitter, herbal sensation instantly overwhelmed all her senses.

Hong Shao's mind went completely blank.

All her reserve, all her pretenses, were shattered at this moment.

She responded clumsily, yet passionately.

After an unknown amount of time, their lips parted.

Hong Shao was panting, her pretty face flushed so red it seemed it might drip blood, her watery eyes gazing mistily at the man above her.

"You... you're bullying me..."

Chen Fan didn't speak, simply turned over and pinned her beneath him.

He answered all her questions with his actions.

Hong Shao let out a whimper, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Little Sister... Little Sister will be back soon..." She reminded him with her last shred of reason.

Chen Fan leaned down, whispering in her ear with a hoarse voice.

"Then we'll do it before she returns."

Clothes fell away.

The candlelight flickered.

A suppressed cry of pain was soon drowned out by increasingly rapid breathing.

Outside the window, the moon hung in the center of the sky.

Inside the room, the spring scene was boundless.
