30: Chapter 30 The Princess in Bed
Looking at the maid who was once so intimate, the Princess felt a chill run through her entire body.
She knew that resistance was futile; from the moment this woman revealed her true colors, she had become a plaything in her palm.
Princess Li Ronger slowly closed her eyes, and two lines of clear tears slid down her cheeks.
Su Xin was very satisfied with her reaction, a faint smile appearing on her face.
"Princess, that's right. A wise person submits to circumstances. You only need to cooperate obediently, and I guarantee that after it is done, you will still be the high and mighty Princess of Xiushan."
As for whether she would be a Princess who had lost her purity, that was no longer her concern.
Princess Li Ronger did not answer; her body merely trembled slightly.
Su Xin did not care. She stood up, walked to the window, pushed it open a crack, and glanced at the sky outside.
The night had already deepened.
"Stay here and rest well," Su Xin commanded without looking back. "Before I return, do not think about playing any tricks."
As she finished speaking, her figure flashed. Like a weightless feather, she drifted out through the half-open window and silently merged into the night.
In the private room, only Princess Li Ronger remained, accompanied by a solitary lamp swaying in the wind.
...
Under the same night sky, at Black Wind Mountain.
The mountain wind howled, causing the forest to rustle.
A white figure moved through the shadows of the forest, as fast as a ghost.
Su Xin had changed into a sleek night-traveling outfit, her face covered by a black scarf, revealing only a pair of cold eyes.
She looked up at the flickering firelight on the mountain, a trace of disdain curling the corners of her lips.
Mere mountain bandits, a rabble.
The few hidden sentries on the mountain path were useless before this 7th-grade Martial Artist. She did not even bother to dodge, simply relying on speed and movement techniques far superior to ordinary people to flash past right under their noses.
Those drowsy bandits merely felt a blur before their eyes, as if the mountain wind had gotten into them; they rubbed their eyes and continued to doze off.
Su Xin easily infiltrated the heart of the mountain stronghold.
From Juyi Hall, faint sounds of drinking games and the stench of alcohol drifted out.
She paid no attention to it, bypassed Juyi Hall, and, following the intelligence sent back by her scout during the day, made her way to the area in the back mountain where the bandit leader's independent stone chambers were located.
A thick stone door was tightly shut.
But through the cracks in the door, bright lamplight shone out, accompanied by waves of explicit laughter and a woman's soft moans.
Su Xin stopped and tilted her head to listen.
"Chief, please be gentle..."
"Hahaha! You little vixens, today I'll make sure you know what this master is capable of!"
"Oh my, Chief, you are so wicked..."
Su Xin's delicate brows furrowed slightly, and a flash of undisguised disgust crossed her cold eyes.
He was truly a depraved and licentious bandit.
Letting the Princess go last time was likely just a whim, or perhaps he had some other scheme. Such a man was a scoundrel to the bone.
With a light tap of her toes against the stone wall, she scaled the top of the stone chamber like a gecko, silent and stealthy, and peered inside through a ventilation window.
Inside the stone chamber, it was a scene of decadent debauchery.
The bearded bandit leader, bare-chested, was pressing a disheveled woman down onto the wide stone bed, playing with her wantonly.
It was a scene of lewdness, unbearable to watch.
Su Xin snorted coldly and silently cursed him as a scoundrel.
However, the purpose of her trip had been achieved.
She had confirmed the bandit leader's residence and verified that only he and two ordinary bandit wives were present, with no other experts around.
The plan could now be put into action.
She did not linger any longer; with a turn of her body, she vanished into the night as silently as she had arrived.
...
In the following days, Chen Fan continued to live his decadent life as Chief.
During the day, he practiced his saber techniques and familiarized himself with the Internal Energy of an 8th-grade Martial Artist within his body.
At night, he would frolic and play with his two wives.
That night, the banquet in Juyi Hall ended unusually early.
Because the mountain's food supplies and fine wine were running low again. Iron-Armed Monkey was rubbing his hands together, preparing to head down the mountain tomorrow for another big score.
Chen Fan, half-drunk, carried his Ghost-Headed Greatsword and swayed back to the stone chamber in the rear hall.
He pushed open the heavy stone door.
A faint, strange fragrance wafted towards him.
It was not the familiar scent of cosmetics he was used to, but rather a strange, sweet, and cloying fragrance he had never smelled before.
The stone chamber was also unusually quiet.
In the past, as soon as he returned, Honge and Cui Qiao, those two little vixens, would have already pounced on him, chattering away.
Why was there no sound today?
Chen Fan frowned, his drunkenness fading by more than half.
He leaned his Ghost-Headed Greatsword against the corner and strode inside.
By the light of the torches on the walls, he saw the scene inside clearly.
In the corner, Honge and Cui Qiao lay collapsed on the ground, one on the left and one on the right, unconscious.
Chen Fan's heart sank abruptly.
Something was wrong!
He hurried forward and checked their breathing.
Fortunately, they had only fainted.
Just as he let out a sigh of relief, his peripheral vision caught sight of the large stone bed.
There seemed to be someone on the bed.
Chen Fan slowly straightened up and turned his head.
There, on the tiger-skin-covered stone bed, lay a woman.
The woman's clothes were disheveled, her hands and feet were bound with coarse hemp rope, a cloth gag was stuffed in her mouth, and her dark hair was spread messily across the pillow.
Her face, both familiar and strange, was filled with terror and despair, and two lines of clear tears were silently sliding down from the corners of her eyes.
It was her!
The woman who claimed to be the family member of a refugee merchant!
The Princess of Xiushan!
Chen Fan's mind was in a whirl. Why would the Princess appear here?
He looked at the teary-eyed, utterly desperate woman on the bed, then at the two unconscious bandit wives on the floor. He frowned, and realization dawned on him.
This was a trap.
A death trap specifically set for him, the "Black Wind Demon," one from which he could never clear his name even if he jumped into the Yellow River!
Now, in this stone chamber, there was only him, two unconscious bandit wives, and one Princess, bound and disheveled.
Chen Fan looked at the absurd and bizarre scene before him, speechless.
