28: Chapter 28 Hello, Dr. Qin (5)

Dr. Qin stood at the entrance of his office, watching Jiang Han push Jiang Wan into the elevator.

Chen Qingfeng saw that they were already out of sight, yet Dr. Qin was still standing at the doorway, so he called out.

"Hey, they're gone already. Why are you still standing there? Waiting for your wife to return?"

Dr. Qin withdrew his gaze and looked at his chatterbox friend beside him. "None of your business. If you've got nothing else to do, hurry up and leave. I don't have time to entertain you."

Chen Qingfeng rolled his eyes. "Even if you didn't say anything, I'd have to leave anyway; I came here to visit a relative. I was going to ask if you wanted to grab lunch together, but looking at you now, you don't seem very happy to see me."

Dr. Qin replied, "Good, you have self-awareness. I have surgery this afternoon and don't have time to go eat with you. Suit yourselves."

After saying this, Dr. Qin turned around and went back into his office, leaving Chen Qingfeng and Liu Nian outside.

Chen Qingfeng: "..."

Next time we drink, I'll definitely have to make him drink a few more cups.

Jiang Wan was carried into Jiang Han's car. She watched as Jiang Han busied himself with everything.

After Jiang Han sat in the driver's seat, Jiang Wan asked curiously, "Big Brother, didn't you bring an assistant today?"

She had wanted to ask back upstairs. What kind of boss doesn't have an assistant with them? Why did her Big Brother come all by himself?

Jiang Han glanced sideways at Jiang Wan. "What do you think? If he came, who would attend the meeting for me?"

In reality, his assistant had been sent out and hadn't returned yet, and Jiang Han hadn't called anyone else.

Jiang Wan shrank her neck. Were the secretaries in the secretary's office just for show? It wasn't like there was only one person he could call.

Regardless of the reason, Jiang Wan was extremely grateful that her Big Brother had come to pick her up.

"Big Brother, thank you for coming to pick me up, but my car is still over there..."

Jiang Han started the car without even glancing at Jiang Wan.

"I'll send someone to drive your car away later. You only have a part-time cleaner there, not a live-in housekeeper. Just stay at my place for these few days; you can move back once your leg is better."

Huh? Go to his place?

Jiang Wan looked cautiously at her Big Brother. "Wouldn't that be inappropriate? Would it disturb you? Actually, I'd be fine on my own."

Jiang Han had plenty of ways to shut Jiang Wan up.

"If you don't want to go to my place, that's fine. Or would you rather move back and live with Mom and Dad?"

Jiang Wan quickly shook her head and waved her hands. "No, no, there's no need to trouble Mom and Dad. Big Brother, I'll go stay at your place then."

Living at home with her parents was something Jiang Wan didn't even want to think about. They were a happy family; what would it look like for her to wedge herself in?

Besides, that little sister of hers was always sarcastic whenever she saw her, as if Jiang Wan would steal her things the moment she returned.

If she had to choose one, she'd rather be with her Big Brother.

Her Big Brother was a company CEO; he surely worked overtime every day and only returned late at night. Or sometimes he would go on business trips, so he wouldn't be home for very long. In reality, they didn't have many opportunities to see each other.

And so, Jiang Wan followed her Big Brother back to the villa where he currently lived.

Jiang Han brought Jiang Wan home, introduced her to the housekeeper, had lunch with her, and instructed the housekeeper to tidy up the room next to his for Jiang Wan to stay in.

He repeatedly emphasized that the housekeeper should take good care of Jiang Wan before heading back to the company.

The housekeeper quickly tidied up the room. Before she could even take Jiang Wan to the room, several people suddenly arrived at the house.

It turned out these people were there to take Jiang Wan's measurements and then deliver clothes for her.

Jiang Han had thought of this on the way and had people prepare it. Jiang Wan had come here all by herself; if he didn't prepare clothes for her, what would she wear? She wasn't staying for just one day; it was going to be for quite a while.

Jiang Wan looked at the piles of clothes—more than she could ever wear—and was completely stunned.

She was only staying for a few days; did she need this many clothes?

Watching the staff arrange the clothes one by one into her room, the walk-in closet was organized in no time.

They were all suitable for current wear, in every style, and they had all been washed, so Jiang Wan could wear them with peace of mind.

Looking at these clothes and the room with such excellent lighting, Jiang Wan couldn't quite figure it out.

Weren't they supposed to ignore her? Why prepare all this for her?

But since he had prepared so much for her, Jiang Wan still felt she should thank him.

Jiang Wan called Jiang Han. "Big Brother, thank you for the room you prepared for me; I like it very much. However, I actually have plenty of clothes. I can just have the housekeeper go back and get them. I'm only staying for a few days; there are so many clothes, I won't be able to wear them all. It's too wasteful."

It would be a hassle to move them back later.

Jiang Han said only one sentence before hanging up the phone: "Do you think I'm short on the money for those clothes?"

Fine. Upon hearing that, Jiang Wan decisively shut her mouth.

Since her Big Brother had so much money, she would kindly help him spend a little more!

And so, Jiang Wan settled into Jiang Han's villa, living a life of leisure for nearly ten days, with everything served to her on a silver platter.

Because she was recuperating, Jiang Wan hadn't gone anywhere these days. Her injury only looked serious because her skin was so pale.

After resting for a few days, the wound on her knee had already scabbed over, and she could walk on her foot again.

Seeing that Jiang Wan could walk, Jiang Han brought Dr. Qin back with him when he returned from work that evening.

During this time, Jiang Han had returned every day to eat with Jiang Wan, and she had gotten used to it.

At first, Jiang Wan had been a bit surprised.

However, Jiang Wan thought that since this was his territory, he could come back whenever he wanted, and she had no right to interfere.

Jiang Wan was sitting on the sofa. Seeing Dr. Qin arrive, she stood up and greeted them: "Big Brother, Dr. Qin."

Dr. Qin looked at the young girl who had frequently appeared in his mind these past few days, his eyes filled with gentleness. "No need to be so formal. I'm a friend of yours, so you can just call me Brother. Your brother said you could walk, so he asked me to come over and take a look."

Jiang Wan looked at Jiang Han. Is that so?

Jiang Han nodded. "Let him check and see if there are any lasting effects."

And that knee—let's hope it doesn't leave a scar. For a young girl, having scars on her body doesn't look good.

"Oh."

Jiang Wan obediently sat back on the sofa and let Dr. Qin examine her foot.

She possessed medical skills herself, so she knew, of course, that she was fine now. But her Big Brother didn't know that. Since he was worried, she might as well let the doctor give her a thorough check-up!

After the examination, Dr. Qin said to Jiang Wan and Jiang Han, "It's healing well. Since you can walk on your foot and don't feel any pain, that means it's recovered."

Jiang Han asked, "What about the knee? It still looks so bruised; will it leave a scar?"

Dr. Qin replied, "The bruising is because her skin is fair, so it fades a bit slower. If you're worried about scarring, you can apply some scar removal cream later. I'll bring the medicine for you tomorrow."

Jiang Wan watched these two men discussing her injury and felt the scene was somehow strange.

Wasn't she the invisible person in this family? Why was her Big Brother treating her so well? Why was he even worried about whether she would have scars?

If he cared about her, why did he leave her alone abroad?

She couldn't figure it out; Jiang Wan truly couldn't figure it out.

Forget it, don't force it. She wasn't a mind reader, so how could she know what they were thinking?

She might as well just enjoy the delicious dinner prepared by the housekeeper!

Since coming here, the thing Jiang Wan was most satisfied with was the housekeeper's cooking skills.

The housekeeper's skills were truly excellent. Besides cooking delicious meals, she could also make many kinds of small snacks, which made Jiang Wan very happy.

If it weren't for the fact that she didn't gain weight, she would have already gained several pounds eating like this.

As for the housekeeper, seeing Jiang Wan enjoy her food so much made her very happy and gave her a sense of accomplishment.

When cooking for the master, he always had an expressionless face, making it impossible for her to tell if he liked her cooking or not.

Now it was different. After the young lady arrived, she would praise her every time she ate, which delighted the housekeeper.

Seeing how thin Jiang Wan was, the housekeeper felt she needed to put in more effort to fatten the young lady up a bit.

Otherwise, a gust of wind would blow her away.

Since Jiang Han brought Dr. Qin back, he naturally kept him for dinner.

Because Jiang Han was present, Dr. Qin didn't make any special moves, but seeing Jiang Wan's eyes curve into crescents whenever she ate something delicious, Dr. Qin couldn't help but feel his own mood lift.

When leaving, Dr. Qin said to Jiang Han, "We're going out to have some fun in a few days; we can bring little sister Jiang Wan along. Being cooped up at home all day, she's going to get bored stiff. It would be good for her to go out and relax."

As soon as Jiang Wan heard she could go out to play, her eyes lit up. She looked at her Big Brother with an expression that clearly said, "I really want to go."

Having stayed at home for so many days, she felt like she was about to grow mold.

Jiang Han saw how expectant Jiang Wan looked, and a hint of a smile flashed in his eyes. "Alright, I'll take you with me in a few days."

Jiang Wan was incredibly happy when she heard that.

However, this excitement vanished completely the moment she received a call from her mother.
