26: Chapter 26 We Must Speed It Up!
The system's warning was like a bucket of ice water, jolting Lin Mo awake from his methodical technological accumulation. His previous mindset of "taking it slow and steady" was utterly shattered. A 0.01% exposure risk might seem negligible, but when considered alongside the system's description of the reaper civilization, this tiny risk could represent a future where the entire Blue Star civilization is mercilessly erased!
He could no longer proceed as before—slowly analyzing, gradually verifying, and then transmitting technology through anonymous channels that required the recipients to digest and comprehend it. The efficiency was too low! Time might be their scarcest resource!
"Must accelerate!" Lin Mo abruptly stood up from his workstation, pacing back and forth in the cramped rented room, his eyes sharp as a hawk's. His mind, enhanced by the system, operated at an unprecedented speed, meticulously replanning every step ahead.
First, the method of technology transfer. Continuing to provide basic theories and materials, letting Dragon Nation's scientists research, verify, and apply them from scratch—this cycle was far too long. He needed to provide more direct, more product-like "solutions"! For example, directly packaging and sending the complete aerodynamic layout of the [space-air fighter], the engine integration scheme, even the molecular formula for stealth coating! Let Dragon Nation skip the lengthy exploration phase and jump directly into engineering implementation!
Second, his own growth and security. Facing potential threats from the stars or even from within Earth, his current self-preservation capabilities were far from sufficient. He needed more powerful personal equipment and, more importantly, an absolutely safe, undisturbed base. Points needed to be invested more heavily into personal armament and concealed facilities.
Finally, and most crucially, was how to complete that urgent mission—"Establish Primary Civilization Early Warning and Defense Consensus." This required an opportunity. Only after Dragon Nation achieved absolute dominance in the space domain and truly turned its gaze toward deep space could he guide the situation accordingly. This meant his pace in advancing Dragon Nation's space technology development had to be even faster!
His thoughts crystallized instantly.
He immediately returned to the system interface, his gaze locking onto several options previously shelved due to their massive point costs:
[Complete System Design Blueprint for 'sky patrol'-class Space-Air Fighter (Simplified Version): 1200 points]
[Personal Light Energy Shield Generator (Experimental Type): 800 points]
[Underground Safe Room Basic Construction Module (Includes Life Support): 1500 points]
These were all major point sinks, but they were also the most effective means to improve efficiency and safety at present.
"Points... still points!" Lin Mo frowned, looking at his remaining few hundred points. Completing system missions was the fastest way to earn points. He had to complete more missions as soon as possible, especially that urgent mission rewarding 1000 points!
But the prerequisite for the urgent mission was Dragon Nation achieving sufficiently awe-inspiring accomplishments in the space domain, leading them to believe and value his warning. This created a cycle: to accelerate, he needed points; to get points, he needed to complete missions; to complete missions, he first needed to accelerate the advancement of Dragon Nation's technology...
"Then start from the easiest point of breakthrough!" Lin Mo's gaze hardened as he made a decision. He called up the complete technical data for the [Ion Thruster] again. But this time, he wasn't limited to principles and components. He began integrating knowledge fragments from the system's [Spacecraft Intelligent Control System] to design a complete, miniaturized "verification satellite" platform scheme with autonomous orbital maneuvering capability.
This scheme would integrate propulsion, energy (small nuclear battery), and control into one. Its technological sophistication would far surpass any similar satellite currently possessed by any nation. Once successfully launched, the maneuverability and potential military value it demonstrated would be enough for Dragon Nation to take a significant leap in space deterrence and earn him a handsome sum of points!
He took a deep breath, suppressing the urgency in his heart, and sat back down at the workstation. This time, there was no trace of confusion or hesitation in his eyes, only a desperate and resolute determination to race against time.
His fingers flew across the keyboard as complex formulas and structural diagrams flowed across the screen at an unprecedented speed. His mental focus was so intense it even caused the system interface to flicker slightly, as if responding to the host's do-or-die resolve.
An invisible countdown seemed to be ticking in Lin Mo's ears. He had to be fast, faster! Before the storm truly arrived, he had to forge a sturdy enough Ark for this teetering civilization.
