62: Tiger Hunting

The Twilight Society worships an extremely mysterious deity, the Stargazer's Eye—Nyssera.

A blood-dripping, dim pupil is the emblem of this divine cult.

Within this area, the obscure and complex formation arranged by the three individuals formed a special ritual, currently dormant and not yet activated.

They did not venture deep into the forbidden zone's core; after completing this special formation, they proceeded to the next location.

...

Qin Jin, carrying his pack, walked on the ground, continuously advancing along his predetermined route.

As he moved forward, the repulsive force around him noticeably increased.

However, he had already begun hunting constructs, and the current repulsive force could not affect him too much.

He continued to go deeper.

Upon reaching a certain spot, he looked back.

Behind him were three little tails—the same group of people who had warned him earlier.

This group did not conceal their tracks; they followed openly, maintaining a safe distance.

“Is this…”, he wondered.

“Are they afraid I’ll truly encounter the extraordinary creature she mentioned and want to save me? Or do they want to reap the benefits?”

“Perhaps both.”

Qin Jin thought to himself.

Human nature is inherently complex; the same environment and experiences can shape completely different personalities.

Moreover, those participating in the Heavenly Selection selection are young people whose personalities are not yet set, so encountering any kind of person is not surprising.

As thoughts flashed through his mind,

Qin Jin continued to advance.

Since the other party had no ill intentions and actively maintained a safe distance, Qin Jin did not stop them.

After advancing another few hundred meters, Qin Jin raised an eyebrow, looking ahead.

His gaze fell upon a cliff wall about several tens of meters high. To continue forward, he would need to climb it.

At the base of the cliff, shattered rocks were scattered, violently breaking open a wide, semi-circular cave.

Inside.

A massive, feline-like figure was curled up, its body continuously rising and falling, sound asleep.

With each breath, a deafening snore, like thunder, resonated.

Though curled up, it appeared to be six or seven meters long, with long, sharp teeth, somewhat resembling a Saber-toothed tiger.

“No wonder the group behind turned back and took a detour,”

Qin Jin swept his gaze over the cliff: “If I wake this guy up while climbing, it won’t be pleasant.”

“Taking a detour will cost more time. Getting into the forbidden zone earlier to understand the situation can also give me the upper hand.”

“In that case…”

Qin Jin raised his hand, took off his backpack, and placed it on the ground.

Then.

Qin Jin stepped forward, actively approaching.

Behind him.

Su Su and the other two maintained a safe distance, watching the scene from afar.

“Is he really going to do it?”

Su Su stared, somewhat dumbfounded, at the figure walking alone towards the “tiger’s den.”

“What do we do now?”

Diaz scratched his head: “If he really wakes this big guy up, and it goes berserk, will it attack us too?”

“Very likely,”

Zhang Cheng nodded.

A thoughtful look appeared in Su Su’s eyes, her expression calming down as she analyzed seriously: “Those who can participate in the Heavenly Selection selection have already been screened; how could anyone actively seek death?”

“This person must have some confidence!”

“Zhang Cheng, Diaz.”

Su Su looked at the two: “Since we’ve already followed, let’s see it through.”

“I’ll prepare a mental attack. If he truly can’t win, I’ll help him distract it to see if he can escape.”

“You two be ready to take me away, lest we anger this big guy.”

After speaking, she looked at her two teammates.

Their gazes met.

“Alright,”

Diaz made the decision first: “You’re right; he must have some confidence to act this way.”

“If he can really deal with this big guy, we can also save a lot of time.”

The three made their decision.

A faint light flickered in Su Su’s eyes as her mental power began to stir.

At the front.

Qin Jin advanced step by step, closing the distance.

Just as he was about several tens of meters from the tiger’s den, the Saber-toothed tiger’s snoring suddenly intensified. It sensed something, abruptly opened its eyes, a fierce glint flashing within them, electric arcs flickering on its fangs, its mouth opening as a deafening roar erupted!

The sound was like thunder, continuously roaring.

From its position, a strong wind began to swirl.

The wind blew against his combat suit, making a flapping sound.

With a single tiger roar, it rose and crawled out of the cave, its thick, sturdy tiger paws stepping on the ground, leaving imprints.

Its gaze swept around, finally focusing on Qin Jin, and a hint of impatience arose in its eyes.

It was clear...

It was very unhappy about being disturbed and awakened from its slumber.

The moment its gaze focused on Qin Jin, extraordinary power surged around its body, and surging electric arcs condensed above Qin Jin, then descended with force!

As it launched its attack,

Qin Jin also moved.

With a step of his right leg, his body surged forward, charging ahead, dodging the electric arcs. At the same time, a pair of Jiao Tong (flood dragon pupils) vaguely reflected in Qin Jin’s eyes.

Engraving: Three-Headed Strange Python!

Facing an extraordinary creature of uncertain strength, since he was going to attack, he might as well use a two-pronged approach.

For many extraordinary creatures, although they possess intelligence, their mental faculties are a weakness due to the lack of specialized methods for improvement.

Moreover...

What Qin Jin was using now was one of his true trump cards, and it was the first time he had employed such a method.

In that instant, mental power surged, and within the Saber-toothed tiger’s vision, the world suddenly darkened, followed by an unparalleled sensation of extreme cold. Astonishment flashed in its eyes as it found itself in an ice field, its body covered in frozen ice crystals.

Where is this?

Didn’t I just crawl out of the den I dug?

As thoughts flashed, it instinctively tried to break free.

But then...

An unparalleled terrifying pressure struck.

It was a suppression from the essence of life itself; its soul trembled. In the unstoppable freezing, this Saber-toothed tiger saw an ice-white Three-Headed Strange Python, its body coiled, suspended in mid-air.

Dragon’s might!

Its thoughts were frozen, as if it had re-entered slumber.

It couldn't even muster the slightest intention of resistance.

At the same time.

The moment the mental suppression formed, Qin Jin’s speed surged. With a slight thought, life energy transformed, and dazzling lightning surged around his body, gathering into armor.

Nine Tribulation True Body—Sky Thunder Body!

Speed, defense, and strength were all comprehensively boosted.

He covered the distance of several tens of meters in a flash.

He stepped with his right leg, his body soaring into the air, and threw a punch that landed squarely on the Saber-toothed tiger’s head!

Boom!

An invisible explosion sound erupted.

The Saber-toothed tiger’s front legs buckled, and it crashed to the ground, kicking up dust.

The Three-Headed Strange Python’s engraving attack was extraordinarily powerful, but it also consumed a great deal of mental energy.

The light in Qin Jin’s eyes receded, and his mental attack ceased.

After the mental attack receded, the Saber-toothed tiger, which had fallen to the ground, twitched.

“Not dead.”

“Its defensive capabilities are very impressive.”

Qin Jin was not surprised.

The Sky Thunder Body imbued him with lightning-attribute damage, but the extraordinary creatures in this forbidden zone, in terms of attributes, tended towards lightning.

Without any hesitation, Qin Jin put on the fist blades he carried with him.

Since the attempt to destroy its brain with one blow had not succeeded, he would use the most primitive method of disembowelment to deal with it.

It was at this moment...

The Saber-toothed tiger’s massive body twitched even more violently, and it let out a whimper of fear from its open mouth.
